Also if you're sensitive to raw garlic, I like toasting the garlic in a tiny bit of olive oil on a pan to get that smoky garlic flavor.

hi lucie, i wanted to share my story with you because you'd never imagine how much you've helped me. TW: MENTION OF CALORIES, FOOD, SKIPPING MEALS. okay so everything started when i saw the numbers on the scale. i was shocked. i couldn't believe i gained that much in a year. and of course, after i saw that, i was determined to lose it all. so i started restricting without even knowing. i'd say things like "well now instead of having two of these i'll have half of each". and everything was fine like that, until i started counting calories. i remember thinking i was doing great just because my calorie intake was low, but in reality, i was doing it all wrong: no veggies, no balance, fatty diet, refined carbs, no fruit, and skipping meals. so when i realized that, i started doing the opposite thing. i literally wouldn't eat anything that wasn't eggs, veggies, smoothies, or coffee. that is until i came across your channel. because of you i learnt how important it is to get the right amount of nutrients and how to do it. and that you can still eat healthy by doing so. because of you i learnt how to balance my meals properly. and most importantly, because of you i learnt how to enjoy eating again. so thank you so so much

Also, if you like your hummas to be smooth, you can boil it for about 3-5 mins and blending them warm. And of course with garlic (or roasted red peppers are delicious too)!

Also we do not need carbohydrate at all (We can create glucose from glycerol, a product of fat breakdown). Grains are there because in the past slaves and peasants could not afford meat, they are nothing but empty calories...

One other important thing is to consider the Randle Cycle - when you eat fat and carbs together - neither is used as energy and both get stored as fat. As a result you rapidly gain weight, which also leads to inflammation (increased risk of cardiovascular disease). This enables us to control WHEN we store fat in preparation for winter in prehistoric times, we ate fruit during summer to activate the randle cycle and store fat for winter).
However, everyone mistakenly thinks you need both, when in reality you can obtain all the glucose you need solely from fat. This is why keto and vegan diets work so well - they stop the randle cycle. Keto cuts out carbs, while vegan greatly reduces fat intake.
Generally, DO NOT mix fat and carbs together. Cut out one of them. The problem is that fat is absolutely essential since you need it to make cells, hormones and neurotransmitters and to absorb vitamin A, D and K2. You can never have too much fat.
Fat should be your primary source of energy (indigenous people ate between 30-80% of their food as fat - weston price).
