Here's my 2 cents on mindful eating vs binge eating. I have noticed that I only ever binge eat uncontrollably while watching mindless entertainment on YT (not channels like this, or motivational, productivity channels, OR music videos - I never eat while watching those). SO, there's a clear habitual connection= binge eating + watching crap entertainment. And here's the KEY: Breaking that habit by replacing it with something else. I try, very hard, to ALWAYS eat without watching anything, just as Lucie points out, solely focusing on my food. And I try to ALWAYS drink a cup of coffee or green tea while watching my mindless entertainment. Do it over and over again, until new habit is formed (it could of course be something different for everyone). It's hard but it does work. And an extra bonus - I often find that when it's not accompanied by food, I often don't feel like watching stuff that is just a waste of my time :-) I realise it's just an enabler to my binge eating.. Hope this makes sense. I haven't perfected it yet myself but I will get there. Being aware of your triggers, habits and enablers is HUGE.
I'm a new subscriber and have gone back to watch all your videos from the beginning! 🙈😂 I am loving them! It's lovely to see people who beleive in well rounded, balanced, healthy diets on youtube.
Eating Mindfully.. I will definitely try this method! We run such busy lives that we don’t even notice what and when we eat. Once again thank you for another great video.
I’ve recently learned that even grocery shopping can be difficult when meal prepping because it’s am still processed. I want to move someplace where food is good and not processed and full of harmful gross chemicals.
Okay, I am new here and I generally don't comment but I have got some things to say. I lost weight like around 15-20 kg. Actually I did it very healty like I ate healty always and I did my sport every single day. I still do my sport every day or if I can't do like a hard fitness video or if its my rest day I definitely stay active somehow. Like walking, volleyball etc. The point is after some time I started to wanna eat soo bad because I wasn't eating ANY UNHEALTY THING! First times when I had binge eating, I was still eating basic like yogurt with honey and cereal ( but I was thinking like omg its so bad) anyway the time passed and my binge eating turned to unhealty things which I couldn't stop myself from eating till I was fucking full like literally. Now I gained 3-4 kg back and I ate junk food anytime I find or I have because I didn't eat for a loong time. I am trying to be ready to change it and I wanna lose weight but this time its because I wanna be healty for myself, I wanna be in my healty weight, I am playing volleyball so I wanna perform better in that... And many many other things for myself. I will write back here because I AM A MOTIVATION FOR MYSELF AND I HOPE I CAN HELP ANYONE AROUND HERE! 💗
Because when you are mindfully eating, you don’t need all those diet plans and reduce consuming those junk food by 95%. Then most of those people will go out of business. Lol
I need to try this! How do you slow yourself down when your food tastes really good? For instance, when we have pizza, I can eat 2 slices in about 10 minute; just because it tastes amazing. I would love to enjoy it longer!
I know how hard it can be, I do that too sometimes haha! I really try to put the food down between bites, take the time to take a drink of water, wipe my hands on a napkin, chat with someone at the table, etc! And two slices in 10 minutes is actually not that fast for pizza 😂
I lost 3 stone just through mindful eating but unfortunately I then suffered a very difficult year with family illness and I was so busy looking after everyone else that I put it all back on again because I was just grabbing things between hospital visits
i have the worst salt craving every day! I feel like i need something salty and crunchy to be satisfied. I’ve tried some healthy foods that have the crunch but not the salt ( & vice versa) but nothing really satisfies my craving except chips. Any ideas on what could help fix this bad craving :( ?
It's only a question of habit, the less salt you consume the better other things will start to taste, try making your own vegetable chips with herbamare instead of salt!
So what you’re saying in this video is just eat healthy and don’t eat junk food… basically don’t eat pizza dont eat cookies or brownies or anything like that. Eat salad and chicken and fish and veggies….. this is kind of what I got from the first three minutes of your video…. Sweets and junk food will make you fat. Therefore, as an intuitive eater you shouldn’t eat anything unless it’s 100% healthy. I guess we should start feeding our kids only salads and healthy foods and if they want a cookie for dessert we need to tell them that that it’s unhealthy and it’ll make you fat. Am I right?

Thank you for sharing, very helpful!
I love this!
Same here! I've been trying to constantly sip on water while watching TV.
@@maja__5047 Oral fixation is real... just need to satisfy it with sensible things :-)
I think I finally found my reason for my decade of weight-loss failures with your channel and especially this video. It made me rather emotional.
Thank you so much, glad this could be helpful and wishing you all the best!

Thank you so much!!
That is awesome to clarify the diet idea. I agree it should never be about losing weight, but about healing the body and being healthy.
great video. Now the main question is how to actually stop yourself when you know that you are emotionally eating when you can't change your activity
Thank you! Yes that is very difficult, I suggest trying to find other things to fill you emotionally rather than food, anything you really enjoy!
Wonderful and fabulous job, dear Mademoiselle Lucie!! Merci!’🌹🌹🌹🌹❤️🏆
Thank you so much!
Merci!'

Exactly! And it affects our health without us noticing!

love 👌your approach to this topic!
So glad, thank you!
How do you know if you're no longer hungry during a meal? Look for growling? Or don't feel satisfied yet?
I really like your channel Lucie! Great work and inspiration. Just ordered the book and stumbled across your videos(; Love from Austria
Thank you, I'm so glad!!

@@Edukalebylucie ah! Good ideas! And thank you so much! I feel a bit better about wolfing it down. Haha.
I hate eating at the kitchen table. I always eat in front of the TV. Maybe if I go outside to eat, that's still mindful eating?
Eating outside sounds great! I also think that you can learn to eat mindfully in front of the tv, because it's important to enjoy your meal time!

Don't feel you need to finish it just bcoz it is on your plate!🙂
Absolutely!
