Oh my... this is THRILLING. I had no idea what I was doing in Audacity and I am 20 minutes into your video and have learned so much! S for silence... I want to have a party!!! Thank you.
This video is the absolute best video Ive seen on the complete process from beginning to end on using audacity. It was a total game changer, combine this with Josh's EQ video and Im feeling quite confident in my ability to produce studio quality audio. This is a foundational guide to Voice Over. Thanks Josh!!!
The BEST tutorial there is. I’m an absolute beginner to audacity and this video was the most informative and detailed video I’ve watched. If you don’t think you have an hour to sit and watch. MAKE TIME.
I was hesitant about sitting down for a 1 hour video tutorial, but I'm so glad I did! You broke everything down and I feel more than ready to edit my podcast! This was a blessing! Thank you!!
34:27 ...dude, this is a game changer for me Josh. I at first didn't understand the importance of "noise gate"...until I thought back at all the times I've gone through and silenced out breathing, creaking chair, etc, something I sometimes put off doing in audacity and physically cut up with FCPX. Bam. Simplified. I'm conflicted here. I want everyone to know about this channel...then again, I like feeling like I have a sound guru that nobody knows about haha So glad I found you bro.
I really needed to watch this. I agree with everyone who says this is the most comprehensive TH-cam video on Audacity so far. As a budding podcaster, I really needed that Noise Gate hack. Great job dude. Greetings from Nairobi, Kenya.
I recently lost my job and have been revisiting projects that might make money mainly my podcast and possibly a look into Voiceover work. I fond myself trying to figure out things that I hadn't done in Audacity for over a year. I will say without a shadow of a doubt that your video is the best video on Audacity I have ever laid eyes on!!! I am a fan. Now a subscriber and I'll be reaching out to see if you can help get me on my way! BRAVO!
I’ve always been told I talk too much and have too much imagination. Never thought I’d be able to put those two things together into a passion project. So grateful I’ve found your channel right at the start. Thank you for all the amazing content, tips and tricks, but especially for making it all so easy to understand for those of us without any background in audio production. Bless your heart!

Trying to get a good understanding of Audacity, I'm in because you talk through what the specific effect does and how it changes the track. Thanks. thumbs up from me!
When I met this channel with my second channel (Ancient Insights), he saved by life and prepared me to launch this new channel that is doing amazingly well. Thank you ones again Josh. This is Gabriel of Ancient Insights Channel, I always come back to learn
I get bored very easily with tutorials and usually do not make it to the end. This tutorial was done very well. Josh was quick to his points without going overboard with boring details but at the same time giving plenty of information on how a beginner can use Audacity in a very simple way. This type of free information is hard to find. Thank you Josh!! I may be contacting you in the near future for some hands on lessons in making music.
Great tutorial for audacity. Kept having to stop and move back because you go to fast and/or your cursor needs to be yellow. Of course I am 64 yrs old so that may have something to do with it. Conversely, due to age I watch and learn everything from YT tutorials so I am most likely a good critic. Thank you
This is literally my first 24 hours doing voice over. Thank you, thank you, thank you for creating this content! Subbed for more high value content as I make my way through this new adventure.
This saved my life as a choral conducting student of a music conservatory in distance learning. Thanks to this I could record the songs I'm conducting so my choir can learn them at home and prepare for my exam concert. Thank you so much!
Thanks, Josh, this is a great new year update on using Audacity. I'm pleased to report I've used many ideas and suggestions from your earlier tutorials in my audio fiction podcast, Tall And True Short Reads. I'm now up to lucky 13 episodes and over time, I've been customising EQ settings for my vocals so that my short story narrations sound good but also sound like me! One tip I would recommend you share with others is to always keep a backup of the raw vocals. After watching your latest video, I "tweaked" my most recent podcast episode and made the rookie mistake of EQ'ing my EQ'ed vocals .... over AND over! The result was BASSY and BOOMY, but thankfully I had a cleanish backup because it looked like I'd have to re-record the vocals. 😰 PS. I've made a small donation in appreciation of your tutorials. 🙏
Robert! You’re the man. Love you’re storytelling my friend. Great to hear from you. Sounds like you’re doing great. I love hearing that. Be well and don’t hesitate to email if you need anything. Thanks again for mentioning me in your blog🤙🙏
@@VoiceOverMaster, hey Josh, I've just dropped episode 16 of my Tall And True Short Reads podcast. This was a great tutorial. One thing I will say from my studies of voiceover so far is that I'm surprised you recommended silencing gaps between speech. The wisdom is that human ears aren't accustomed to silence and it can be a bit jarring or unpleasant for listeners if you include it in audios. A low noise floor (somewhere around -70dB) is preferred depending on what your project is.

Very nice thank you. Just starting out with my headset mic :D One cool shortcut I've discovered is pressing the HOME button on the keyboard takes you to the beginning of the editing timeline (instead of double clicking). Cheers!
