- Discover one of 9 Unesco world heritage sites of the country. Vigan city one of the few towns left in the Philippines whose old structures have mostly remained intact, and it is well known for its cobblestone streets and a unique architecture of the Philippine colonial era which fuses Native Philippine and Oriental building designs and construction, with colonial Spanish architecture that is still abundant in the area, mainly the Bahay na Bato houses and an Earthquake Baroque church. Former Philippine president Elpidio Quirino, the sixth President of the Philippines, was born in Vigan, at the former location of the Provincial Jail (his father was a warden); he resided in the Syquia Mansion

Just been to the Philippines June and July. We took a 4-day vacation to Vigan, visited the museums, and sampled the delicious local cuisine (bagnet..mmmm). Calle Crisologo is magical especially at night. We also drove to Paoay and checked out another UNESCO heritage site (the Paoay Church) and did the Sand Dunes buggy ride and sandboarding. This is a trip I will never forget.

there should be more heritage cities in the Philippines but the Japanese destroyed all of them except Vigan and they only got funded in building manila and Baguio back up in WW2 even though we were still a commonwealth of the US

Hi Finn, you and Sherlyn should come visit my hometown, Bataan. Since you guys are in North Luzon. It’s very historic, and lost of beautiful beaches and scenic views.
There is also a Cove, called Five fingers cove in Mariveles Bataan, you could cliff dive there. And also while you’re in Marivels you can take a boat going to Corrigedor Island. Which majority of the battle of the Japanese- American Filipino World war II happened. And if you wanted to go back in the Spanish era; you can visit Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac Bataan. Unlike Vigan, it’s not just a strip, but a whole compound of Spanish houses, which is built on cobble stones by the coast. ( But Vigan is also Awesome!) And there is also the Shrine on top of a mountain, in Mt. Samat. It’s a huge cross which they say is as big as the statue of Liberty in NY. The shrine is dedicated to the soldiers who fought during the war.
Aside from those mentioned There are more to see! Hope you guys can feature it! Because you make such great vlog!
