Tubbataha exceeded all our expedations from my last trip! Hammer heads & Nurse sharks which I've never seen before WOW.. We are now sharing our expeditions live across Philippines on facebook if you want to follow: facebook.com/seaexplorersliveaboards
Do you offer those trips more often in the future? Do you also take beginners or only if you have certain diving certificates? Also do you have an idea (with you or other companies) whats a rough estimate for a 1-2 day trip?
Hope you document also the experience in your boat and the trip not just the good photos and videos. What i mean by that is the whole journey from start to finish.❤
Been diving for 50 years this month, all over the world...UK, Caribbean, Indian Ocean, Eastern & Western Pacific and asked an American on a liveaboard in Cocos Island 10 years ago "Where's the best place you've dived?" When he mentioned Tubbataha reefs in the Philippines, I was puzzled. Now I've dived many locations in the Caribbean starting in 1974, the Red Sea numerous times starting in 1977, Cuba in 1981 & the Maldives & the Seychelles in the early to mid 1980's, as well as Palau, Raja Ampat & other locations in the Philippines & Indonesia...but Tubbataha? Never heard of it! So finally got round to checking it out in May 2017. SPECTACULAR!!! Raja Ampat may have more species of reef fish & corals but sometimes doesn't have the best viz due to so much plankton & still suffers from a dearth of sharks due to the shark culling for the asian market of shark fin soup decades ago, which the area is only slowly recovering from now its better protected. But for all round spectacular viz, beautiful corals, sharks, with a few mantas & whale sharks thrown in, Tubbataha tops everything. Shame it's only safe to dive that area in the Sulu Sea for a few months from roughly February through June as the reefs are so far out to sea that if it's in the typhoon season one couldn't reach port & relative safety in time. I even got investigated by a juvenile 14 foot whale shark which I snorkelled over to it alone in between dives. It made one pass at me a metre away, then another, bumping me in the chest while I pushed myself off its back, laughing like a drain, all captured on my GoPro. Magic!!!
@@WRogue-uh1rk Yes, thanks for asking. Even at 79 years of age I dived northern Sulawesi & Raja Ampat, Indonesia in September & November 2022. Nowhere in 2023, as my sister in Canada died aged 88 yrs old so had other things to deal with. Am trying to persuade my 60 yr old nephew in Ottawa to learn to dive so I can show him some of the underwater wonders of the world before I kick the bucket!

As a Filipino, I hope that one day I see all of my kababayan unite to protect these sea creatures and coral reefs. Finn, thank you for continuously showing care for the Philippines.
Protecting Tubataha Reef and defending the West Philippine Sea is a deeply personal commitment to the future of our children and grandchildren. It's about preserving the breathtaking beauty and rich biodiversity of these marine treasures so that they can experience the wonder and awe that we have been privileged to witness. Our actions today are not just about conservation; they are about ensuring that our loved ones inherit a world where they can explore vibrant coral reefs, swim alongside diverse marine life, and connect with nature in its purest form. This endeavor is a testament to our love for our families and our desire to leave behind a legacy of environmental responsibility and profound respect for the natural world.
