    This is a narrated step by step guide on how to achieve a small local Spot Repair to a Diamond Cut Wheel.
    Unfortunately kerb damage is easily done and can really detract from your cars overall appearance.
    Diamond Cutting with a CNC Lathe is expensive and can only be done a couple of times on an Alloy.
    This video shows a very popular spot repair that is good for the customer and also a good addition to any Smart Repair / Detailing business!

      @@cvrpov Just going through the comments and seen rare daves comment, while on training my instructor knew I was going to be tackling diamond cuts just like you are and he recommended a product and a few of the other lads he has trained who are smart repairers swear by this product for adhesion promotor onto bare and polished metals on diamond cut wheels.
      The product is called Henkel Bonderite its a bit expensive but will last a very long time.
      Its like a baby wipe and you can use the wipe over and over again as long as you put it back in the container after use.
      It cost around £90 for 50 wipes which is expensive but as other smart repairers have told me they wipe the surface once prepped and then put the wipe back in the container until the next set of wheels they are doing then 2k clear onto the diamond cut wheel for max adhesion.
      This stuff you just wipe the diamond cut area with the bare metal it takes 1 minute to evaporate and etch the metal then you have to spray the moondust silver on within 15 minutes of wiping the area making this stuff awesome for doing this type of work as its super fast to apply and works great so I am told.
      I am ordering all my spray materials this week or next for starting up and this stuff is on my list :)
      You can get this stuff from www.spraygunsdirect.co.uk/index.php/henkel-bonderite-metal-etching-wipes-throw-away-your-etch-primer.html
      Another option is buying self etching 2k clear coat for diamond cut surfaces but that costs double the price of normal 2k clear,,, I would rather use the bondrite wipes to be honest
      I will also check out rare daves product as well as its good to have more than 1 option

    Does this get rid of the diamond cut effect though? I've got 2 wheels on my Porsche that need very small curbing marks taking out but if it gets rid of the diamond cut effect I'm going to have to have all 4 done completely?

    • @cvrpov
      @cvrpov  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Andrew. Yes it does alter the effect. It works great on minimal kerbing and is an alternative to having the whole 4 completely redone and the costs involved. If the wheels are kerbed all the way round however, then perhaps it will need properly re cutting.

    • @lachojski2005
      @lachojski2005 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on what style of wheel they are you could only need two doing if they are on the same side of the car.obviously Porsche wheels are wider on the back to front so can’t swap one side for the other to match it up.

    I've got two what I think are stone chips to the powder coat spokes on my BMW diamond cut alloys. Both on on the rear wheels just a small chip on each wheel. Will they have to be diamond cut or is it something that can be repaired more easily..

    • @lachojski2005
      @lachojski2005 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it’s on the colour part of the wheel that can be repaired without diamond cutting the wheel.it will be the opposite repair to this where they will mask out the diamond cut and paint the spoke/inner and lacquer.
      Any wheel repair man will do this with ease.just search for a local mobile wheel repairer or smart repair technician 👍🏻
