My baby's first real from-the-table food was chicken enchilada soup. Mushed up the beans and removed the corn and he would not stop signing for more. Sometimes, it's the baby food they don't want because the companies make them nasty! I know a lot of people who skipped 'baby' jars all together and just mushed up whatever was at the table.
Thank you so much for this video, very informative and helpful! I'm a first time mom and have been worried if I don't feed my baby enough solids and on the other hand she didn't seem to eat much. This video, especially the lady speaking in the middle (from 12:00) gave me clarity and it was so easy to implement. To my surprise my baby ate almost everything I gave her the last four times I tried since watching the video. Amazing results and I'm now looking forward to preparing food instead of taking it as a chore. 😃
just ordered a four pack of those plates off of amazon. I have a feeling its the best $20 I've spend for my daugther's health. she is such a picky eater. This will probably be a fun way to help with that.
Thank you so much for all your help , it really good tips for me to learn ! I love the video so much ! Please make more video about children eating from age to age ! Thanks again 😊
I'm guilty! I was afraid that time when my baby gagged on eating rice so I stopped giving it to him. Now, I am stuck with a picky eater. He is super picky and he refuses to try new food. That's my big problem. I am super stress how can I get him to eat meat, vegetables and fruits. He just wants mac and cheese, spaghetti just the noodles with butter, cheerios, ritz crackers and that's it! Sometimes he eats rice-a-roni flavored rice with chicken nuggets on the side. My 2yr. old son is super picky and I don't know what to do. I am giving him multivitamins but seeing other kids eating well makes me envious.
Firstly make sure your child is actually hungry! Secondly don't give them multiple options at once, they will just eat what they like. Give them the veggies first. Thirdly Children learn from their parents, monkey see monkey do. Eat vegetables in front of them while making nice sounds. This is my advice.
Wish i knew this stuff when my oldest niece was 4! But thing is, I don't think this advice would have worked because she was so stubborn when it came to eating, she refused to touch fruits and especially veggies. She would tantrum the entire time screaming and crying "I DON'T LIKE IT!" even after being asked if she's had the veggie and fruit in question and she has said No. She even refused to try it before saying she doesn't like it. The demo with the mac and cheese, the mac and cheese would have been the only thing fro that demo she would have eaten and left the green beans and strawberries untounched and then would proceed to tantrum even if you encouraged her to eat a set amount. She just absolutely refused. So with her, i believe the only way she would have ate veggies and fruit is if it was hidden and didn't know she was eating veggies and fruits because if she saw it, and she knew it was what she was required to eat, she refused to touch it. She will be 20 now in December and I hope like crazy she eats better now than she did as a toddler/small child.
Hahaha kids Can be so stubborn! I didn't like a ton of vegetables when I was older either but now I enjoy them. Especially roasting them in the oven 😋. I can bet she probably is a better eater now then when she was younger.
This is a information every parent should know. We have so many programs like WIC, regular check ups with doctors and there's so much missed. I'm recently started to live the night mare of my 2 y NOT EATING AT ALL and this just made me realized I have been setting my child for failure and also failing as a parent. This is my bible. I am just literally start over (as she is a baby , from the begging ) hopefully the memory lapse we have as a child were we dont really remember at 3 y much of what happend before, will help for her future. I feel so disappointed of my self.
My baby too. NOT EATING AT ALL. I watch these youtube videos on mom claiming their child are fussy eaters have no idea at all! Their child eat so much. My child eat NOTHING! What so you do about your child?
@@BalqishMaarif I implemented sensory play. A Rice bin hide some toys there. Water beads. Few trips to the beach a lot of sand play. At the park the feeling of the grass bear footed. Let your baby hold veggies and tell em is soft, velvety etc. And the #1 trick seeing other kids makes them think oh I can eat this too. Make their food is exciting to them I let my girl beat her eggs and mix her pancakes , it's amazing see her face as of : omg look what I've done my self. Also just put it on the plate a piece or 2. Its ok if they dont eat it eventually they will explore it and give a try. Keep in mind There are things are not of your preference as so is for them. They need to explore there food. If something smells awful you probably wont eat etc. She has improve quite a bit. She is more open to try or dont feel bother see it on plate ( she would not eat completely if she saw something she dislike) and ever since there are 3 new things she eats. Hope it help you. Keep strong, every day is a battle. Hope that one day when they grow older the taste buds seem appealing to this things.
@@Potatoesarelife234 they go through changes. Their taste buds are adjusting. I found out in my journey my daughter eat through her eyes first and textures has a lot of play. Try to figure it out. And try not to force it because you will create an aversion to that food. My last source was appetite stimulant. She end up so hungry she eats what ever in front of her until satisfied (not full or well fed) ... I'm ok with that. Even if she says no next day. I also find out she can drink anything so, the only juice from the store she drinks is orange juice. I make her strawberry, carrot, lime , blueberry juice. So far it's been successful, it gives me peace of feeding her nutrients. I also add almond meal and crushed nuts, flax seeds and oatmeal to her pancakes. The point is reinvent what your baby eats, creativity.. games... song... rewards anything that works for you. It takes time but you'll see progress slowly. I hope one day later she will eat anything. Why is most of the videos geared toward kids, I know so many 40- and 50-year-olds who are picky eaters. They drive me insane on the way they eat, it's like there still 6 years old. Some do not eat one single fruit or vegetable; they call it rabbit food and not Man food. Any food item that takes toppings like Lettuce, Tomatoes and Onion, as in Burgers, Sandwiches, things made with those items, they will order everything plain nothing on a Burger except Meat and Cheese, same goes for a Sandwich they say I do not want a salad on my food. One guy I work with does not like anything that is White, as in Milk, Mayo, Eggs, Sour Cream and so on. Another coworker who eats his Burgers plain, will not eat it if it has Ketchup on it, he has to squirt Ketchup on the wrapper then dip the Burger in it, it cannot already be on it, what a weirdo. He also likes cheese and bacon, he will not eat a bacon cheeseburger, he says that is gross. To me it would be embarrassing to go out and eat and have to order your food like you were 6 years old, if I were the waiter or waitress, I would ask the 50-year-old would you like to see the kid's menu. What a lot of people fail to understand is this came from their childhood, and they never grew out of it. I know people who will not even try anything that they never had before, cannot even pay them to try it, they automatically say they will not like it. I know people who have never had a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich and this guy is 49 years old, other people who have never had a slice of pie, any kind of pie, they say it's nasty, will not eat Chili, Meatloaf, Pot Roast, another guy who hates Potatoes, will not even eat French Fries or Chips. This to me is insane, it's a pandemic because when I was growing up back in the late 60's into the 70's everyone would eat everything.
Please don't just add "a sprinkle of fat". The Acceptable Macronutrient Distribution Range for lipids is 30-40% That means 30 to 40% of kcal intake for 1 to 3 year olds should come from fat.
My child pockets food in mouth and it’s so frustrating. I have tried so many strategies....does not get us anywhere. My child will sit there for hours on end
"Fat should be just a sprinkling... Which matches milk" No. More fat calories than carb calories in breast milk. This nutrition advice seems 30 years out of date.
