    Your kids didn't forget to put the windows up, YOU forgot to check if they put them up.
    There are no "shift adaptations", that is the "throttle learning function", you describe how to reset. Whilst it does impact shifting, it has no direct connection to it. The throttle is electronic, the ECM will (very vaguely) learn how you drive and open/close rates will change accordingly, this will eventually indirectly affect the shift points because shift points are determined in part be throttle position, and the throttle position sensor is built into the throttle body, not directly connected to the pedal on the floor.
    I've owned a W210 E55 for many years, also owned a number of other Mercs with the 722.6 (AMG and non AMG), the trans has no learning function to reset.
    The transmission lifetime fill was a USA thing, the rest of the world didn't have that.

    I've had 3 of these cars. I currently have a 2002 black on black 105k miles in storage in Massachusetts and I have a 2001 black on black 209k miles here in Florida. its for sale on craigslist in Gulf Breeze outside Pensacola. I sold my 2001 silver over 2 tone with 207k miles last year. Also I just grabbed a 2001 S55 with 93k miles this week to be my new daily driver

      I saw a 180k mile 2002 E55 on sale for 6.5k. It’s a one owner owned by a former Mercedes service guy. I want to pull the trigger, but am always worried about high mileage cars 😂 I kind of have a complex with them. Worth the gamble? I think so. I haven’t seen it in person but the pictures show it looks really good, for that mileage probably an 8.5/10

    Might be better to advise as W210 generic vs E55 specific (e.g., Transmission fluid/filter change).

    Fantastic content, your videos were super helpful as I navigated purchasing my w210 e55. Curious if the spring perch issue is a known issue for post-face lift w210 e55s also? I read somewhere that it primarily only affected pre-facelift and non-AMG & 4-matic models

    Great vid! Had mine for almost a year and it compliments my E39 M5 well. It’s definitely not as sharp a tool as the M5 but it’s great for easy cruising, and classic merc looks. What BT module are you using?

    • @BaldManMotors
      @BaldManMotors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks and wish I had gotten a e39 when the prices were a bit less lol. Agreed, this is a favorite here for cruising and easier to maintain vs my 06 E55 or my C32. The module I got it on Amazon for $40 Tunai Firefly LDAC Bluerooth. The wire is not crazy robust durabilty but I like it as it has never lost connection or been difficult to connect to. Fast boot up as well.

      @@BaldManMotors Just checked it out, thanks. How do you have it hooked up?

    • @BaldManMotors
      @BaldManMotors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I ran a separate ignition on based wire, (can't remember which one, I think it was a radio one) to a 12v cigarette lighter housing and then used a USB car adapter, all under the wood next to shifter. This way I retained factory cigarette lighter look and made sure it wouldn't be powered on all the time.

    • @metal1150
      @metal1150 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BaldManMotors yeah, I actually removed the aftermarket radio soon as I got it and put the comand back in. I was surprised to see after much digging that there is no plug and play kits for these cars. I’ll end up doing much splicing and mods to make it look more integrated. If only the aux wire had power, it would simplify it so much.

    Good point on the shocks! I actually have those b8s how do you know which one is meant for the front or rear? Theres 2 with black ends and the other 2 have ridges and is light blue (also i have a e430 from year 2000 if that changes anything)

    • @BaldManMotors
      @BaldManMotors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think they are the same as E55 owners actually order E430 sport package shocks to my understanding. I ordered mine off of Amazon using built in filter and when I received mine the lengths were backwards but after some forum research I matched up the shock lengths as they are slightly longer in the front. If installing by Bilstein's part number then the fronts would be too short and the rears would be too long. Hope that answers your question 👍

    • @Alexvisionz
      @Alexvisionz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the response! Revisiting this if you're able to check on yours was the light blue ones on front? And the black ends in the rears? Or vice versa

    • @BaldManMotors
