I own a 2020 X3 M40i and just purchased the MST Cold Air Intake as well. Mine has over 60k miles so some of the hoses weren't as easy to remove, but following your video was 100x more helpful than the actual instructions. It wasn't a perfect fit for me as well, but overall I'm pleased with the purchase. With the windows cracked it is LOUD. So loud that it sounds like I also installed an aftermarket blow off valve haha.
Its wild. I needed a different too for every bolt. There was no one socket for all or one bit for all. But once you know what you are doing around the car it seems to be easy to remove things with lots of space to do work.
Yeah i believe so but I think pre LCI have he same issue. I talked to them and they said it will fit so I went with it. So far no issues with it when it comes to rubbing or fitment.

Thank you for the kind words. Glad the video was helpful!
this review is way better than most on youtube
Thank you for the kind words!
I love your honesty man! So great that you have the courage to admit the flaws and faults of this.
Thank you!
Thanks for posting this man! Super neat and my m40i comes next month. Can’t wait.
That was a pretty good how-to video! BMW seems to make it so that it’s hard to do things under the hood unless you know what you’re doing

Rode mic is what you need my brother !
Using it 😜
2:53 - on US version, it’s a T-25 bit.
Thanks for sharing :)
Sounds great
Update: I installed this on my 2024 m40i no problems 😎
Hi All, Thank you for watching and enjoy :).
why not to install pipe first and then heat shield? this way you not struggling to tighten intake hose clamp.
It works but you can’t fully tighten the clamp until you position the intake.
Hi, did this throw a CEL on your car (without a tune)?
No CEL and I still love the sound. It’s there when you want to hear it and not when you don’t want it!
Can i install a cold air intake that doesn’t have a MAF on my bmw x3?
Can you yes. Should you no. Car won’t run right.
Has the turbo gotten any louder? I want to the turbo sounds to be loud enough to be noticeable
It just depends how you drive the car but yes it’s much more noticeable especially under load.
Did this void your warranty for the intake and surrounding parts?
I am sure if the dealership wants to say that did cause an issue it would be voided.
What’s the size of the sockets for the strut bar?
Can’t recall exactly what I used 😅 bmw engineering decided to use two different sizes so I had to go through my toolbox to find the right sockets.
Have you turned off the ASD?
I did, I have to turn it off again after the latest update as everything basically reset to stock.
Whole lotta room for larger filter, recommend upgrading at some point
It doesn't give any power? Where did you take physics?
Intake changes give nothing but sound. Zero power add. I didn’t take physics but I do have commons sense.
Weird MST said they don’t have an intake for a 2022+ maybe that’s why it didn’t fit perfectly?

It doesn’t look good and sounds ok
I like how it looks. The sound is nice too to boot when you want to listen to it.
I seem to be getting a weird vacuum suction noise when i let go of the gas pedal after installation. Any ideas why that would be happening.
It’s the turbo noise
@LifeofPandK Makes sense. I've never installed an intake on a torbo'd vehicle. I'm guessing that's the turbo flutter?
Yeah exactly.
I’ve heard the same suction vibration noises but only in 1st-2nd gear in decel, not in the higher gears tho
