Yes it's working out of clutch simply coz no engine is connected....
the engine is already not engaged hence no need for clutch
The clutch is meant to disconnect the engine from the gears

U can also use ur grider to clean the whole gearbox just put a cup brass unto it. Replace the grinding disc to cup brass
