I like how there probably was a mutual agreement to use the Nicholas Cage Superman
I see everyone were full of culture, I tip my hat to them
I was thinking the same, felt like it was a prerequisite to exclusively draw Nic Cage's Superman and I love it
1 thousand likes, and i am the 1 thousand.... nice
Are you suggesting he isn't?
The one true Superman.
I like how the civilians looking on implies that while this battle raged on for a century, never once was there an unintended casualty
Well yeah, they're all professionals at their jobs. That would just be irresponsible!
All casualties are intentional

and nobody aged a bit
There could been some casualties, but they were so rare that people didn't care for this 100 years
I love how Vader's only contribution to fighting Chuck Norris was just standing by and flipping him off
Vader is the smart. He didn’t know if Chuck Norris would allow them to win.
Was he not pushing him around or something?
@@frozenpeaches06 probably was by flipping him off he might have used the force too
@@Mossmuncher That's what I assumed had happened, could be wrong though

I love how pretty much everyone else was fighting someone from a different universe, but Dante and Vergil were just up to their normal antics.
also Kiryu and Majima

For anyone who doesn't know this artist (LemonyFresh) sadly passed away earlier this year. I'm glad he was able to be in this collab, he made incredible stuff
the smoothness of him coming out of the darkness is so fucking incredible
Holy smokes how unfortunate my prayers go to him may he rest in peace 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Damn it that was the one animation I actually really really liked and wanted to see more from
F for LemonyFresh, a Legend

when he says 'every single power ranger' is actually horrifying because technically every generation the list gets longer
Gets especially terrifying if you count it's source material for some of it's footage & seasons of SS that power rangers has yet to adapt.

@Gooey Yeah... imma call that where Sinistar ends up coming from. And only Unicron may stop him as Galactus is beefing with Ego the Living Planet.
i love how every animator, whatever other continuity issues arise between shots, all unanimously agree that superman is the nicholas cage one from the jon peters movie that never got made
And yet we've now gotten a cameo of cage as superman in the new flash movie!!
And not the TTGo versions.

@@dontage815 You know what's the best part? The fact that the characters from original song are destined to face the same fate in every version. Mr Rogers wins all the time.
Ye. It kinda allows for younger people to understand the significance of the references they don't understand by comparing the significance to ones they *do* understand.

Man has some priories can you blame him

And then turns into a firework.
I mean pretty much exactly the same joke as the original lol
I love this because it's just an excuse to shove as many references in a shot as possible. I never thought I'd see the Mighty Monarch outside of Venture Bros but I love it

What a fantastic homage to the original. I didn't know the video was already 15 years old, damn! And of course, Neil Cicierega/Lemon Demon is a genius and the cover actually did an amazing job, so did the animators who collabed on this giant of a project!
The cover was actually a redone version by Lemon Demon for their album Live (Only Not). I wasn't a huge fan of it when I first heard it but I've warmed up to it. Plus it's longer so we got more content!
It wasn’t really a cover, just another recording done by Neil

@@stormedapple9317 The original is catchy af and has just enough of that special sauce to make people try and sing it (very very very poorly).

Maybe the skeleton’s ‘98 Godzilla 😂
I thought that was Godzilla getting tired and just dying
I think that was him collapsing from some unseen injuries
I'm guessing him being bones is a reference to either the original 1954 movie where the oxygen destroyer kills him which destroys his flesh turns him into a skeleton before it destroys his bones as well or the 2002 Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla and 2003 Tokyo SOS which retcons the ending of 1954's Godzilla to having his skeleton survive and used to build Kiryu the Millennium era's Mechagodzilla around his skeleton
Just treat it as multiple universe godzillas and optimus primes. Like how theres the Christopher Reeves and Nicholas Cage superman in the same video.

@@AIephNullity Not really. You'll notice that Godzilla returning to the ocean is not a trope specific to 2014's Godzilla. Mike Meyers being shot in the back by Mike Meyers as Austin Powers was hilarious.
I almost missed it.
I still love how Mr. Rogers is presumably stronger than every other being in existence, including Kirby, Goku, Ben Ten, Sonic, Saitama, Bayonetta, and essentially a billion other actual humans and original characters that span the entirety of both human imagination and levels of power. Is it the power of love? Course it is, but it's more so that Mr. Rogers had the most of it.
Also the fact that the Black Knight can survive being dismembered and still lost is hilarious. Kudos to the many artists that worked on this, it's a worthy successor to the OG vid!
During the time this was written it was a popular rumor that Mr. Rogers was an ex-army sniper with an insane kill count so I'd make sense since he's the only person here that actually killed people. Of course that turned out false but still
@@inspectorjavert9868 I mean, Bob Ross _was_ an ex drill sergeant, and he's practically renowned for bringing serenity to thousands through painting, so it's not entirely far-fetched a rumour.
This time he had help, though. Note the King Friday puppet.
@@vsgfilmgroup The 13th, too. Say you’re fighting against the duo. Bad luck is straight up trying to kill you, how do you beat that?
@@insertobligatoryreferenceh489 Given Jason Voorhees was already spotted in this video, that makes for a particularly strange question. King Friday together with Mister Rogers in a Blood Stained Sweater may be enough to take out the undead juggernaut.
I love the little homages to the original video. Like the kid and his ice cream and the generic "bad guy" dead in a pile. I don't see LowTax in the background, though, which makes me sad.
Also the Godzilla close up. Loved that from the original
Gotta say that part where Mr Roger's uh, unalives himself is very cinematic and really well animated. Particularly the part where he looks into his blade and sees what he's truly done. Although the black and white unaliving was also super cinema.
Are you not allowed to say kill? He killed himself.

They once tried to make Chuck Norris branded toilet paper. It had to be cancelled because it wouldn't take shit from anybody.
I appreciate the fact that newgrounds basically has their own section for everybody's safety. mostly characters like alien hominid, daddy and me, pico, and tankman killing grunts. I wonder where hank is though?
They even had the new ones like boyfriend from fnf

It was sorely missing Hank.
I wish there was a better nod to castle Crashers
@@shadesleyer Honestly, Castle Crashers was a little bit later of an addition to most of the referred stuff here. AH, tankguy were part of the OG Newgrounds. CC was a later development, after initial commercial success of the site and some of Tom's projects. The people who were around for the originals are just of a different generation.
To refresh: The original song was released in 2005. Babies born at that time are 17 now. Almost old enough to drink a beer and drive a car in most of the world.

This legitimately got me misty eyed. The original Ultimate Showdown was the first video I ever really fell in love with when the web was still new to me when I was younger. Being exposed to such raw creativity really showed me what was possible on the internet and also showed me really for the first time how many people loved all the same things I did. This is perfect. The inclusion of modern characters at least in the video/visuals was much needed to keep this relevant. I wonder what an updated lyrics version would be like.
