【Ingredients】
Rice - 3cups
Water - 3cups
Salt, NORI seaweed
・SIGURENI
Beef - 200g
Ginger - 30g
Water - 100ml
Sugar - 2tbsp
Soy sauce - 2tbsp
Sake - 1tbsp
・SHAKE
Salmon, Salt
・SHIRASU
Komatsuna spinach
Salt - 1tsp
Shirasu
Sesame oil
・Kyuri
Cucumber

I Love how you always include your daughter in the kitchen so she can watch and taste your cooking. Thank you for teaching us four ways to make onigiri. My Japanese mom made it often as a child. She usually puts omeboshi or canned tuna in the center with nori on outside. I havent tried them any other way...yet. Greetings from U.S.A.

You should write a cookbook for the English audience. You and Su-tan are more than photogenic enough for the cover, and you already have an excellent illustrator in house!
Plus the food always look wonderful.
And the kimono is a nice PR hook that (truthfully!) advertises the traditional Japanese cooking.
Have the recipe text in both English and Japanese and you can even market it as a fun cookbook for both Japanese and English learners!

My daughter used to make these. Usually with shrimp or nothing inside but rice season on the outside by hand. She is a teen now and things change. She got me into everything Japan! Even tried to learn it. Enjoy this time with your baby! I love watching you guys.

@CeresTV I dont know if it the same in other countries, but in France we used to count in months until the baby is 3 years old. It's because a baby learn a uge differents things at this age. And a baby who is 11 months can't do the same things as a another baby who is 16 months.

I guess babies tend to cry or get bored easily if their hands or mouths are free lol. As soon as Sutan got something like cucumber slice, snacks, and other things while Moe was cooking, she didn’t cry out. :) Sutan is very adorable and lovely today too!

I love homemade onigiri. When I studied in Japan a middle aged woman ran a small cafe there and sometimes brought homemade onigiris to sell. They always tasted amazing!

My mom's a Filipino who worked in Japan for 10 years. Next to Miso soup, these were her favorites. She made these whenever she could, but her version would be a tuna + mayo filling. Years later and those are still one of my favorite comfort foods.

Def, I tried making regular ones without filling and it was super frustrating because it kept falling apart, but I got the hang of it after a while, it’s deceptively difficult but gets easier with practice ❤️
@@Ame_667 If you can't get the hang of hand molding your onigiri then you can buy plastic onigiri molds from Daiso that you just fill with rice then pop the lid on to get the shape, i use those and they work like a charm
You could just try cooking the rice and adding furikake(dry rice seasoning which can be found at asian grocers), mix it and ball it. I've done it before. It wont taste as good or look as fancy, but it is extremely easy. Here is a link to a brand that has many options

My family uses saran wrap to make onigiri. I think it makes it easier to keep rice together and shape it.

When I went to Japan Onigiri is usually my go to food when I want get a quick snack or if I don’t have time to dine in a restaurant. I love the different varieties of Onigiri and I love that it is available in any convenience store.
