In Episode 6 of the BodeVision Body Swap Series, we take a step back to move forward! After discovering a crucial mistake from the last video, we had to cut out some of the previous welds and reposition the El Camino body on the CRV floor. By adjusting the placement, we not only corrected the error but also gained more room inside the cab, moving the windshield away from the steering wheel for better comfort and functionality.
The final weld is now perfectly in place, and the transformation is truly coming together. To top it off, we fit the front end, and it's looking absolutely amazing! This project continues to evolve with each video, and we couldn't be more excited to share this journey with you.

When this thing is done you have to take it to a car show and put a hidden camera under the hood. I mean you don't have to I just think it would be really freaking cool. This project is sick Adam. Keep being awesome brother
Good idea. Not many people will know what went to what.
@@workingmansrestorations7071 I would love to see people's reactions when they think they are alone with the car. Walking up to an American classic and seeing a Honda turbo FWD would boggle their minds. I think it would make good content.
@iamdigbick4675
There's a dude with a channel, I think it's called Tom's Refurb who did that car show/ hidden camera thing with a body swapped '65-'66 Mustang onto a Civic. He calls the car "Masutangu", check it out. 👍
@@rustymohr6652 that sounds awesome I'll have to check it out. I think I've seen that guy's channel before and he seemed really annoying to me. But I'll check out that build for sure even if I have to scrub through some annoyingness
Finnegan did it with his dumpster fire daytona, or heavy metal charger can't remember which
That music came straight out of the JC Penney catalog
haha, I thought of Dead Rising.
I really appreciate your attention to details that other people may not take the time to make your swaps more attractive and functional.
A bit of a set back, but the right decision to make. I'm glad that you rather do some extra work, to avoid regretting it later. Great job!
That's perfect space behind the seats. You got space to put bass.
Love the fact that you never take short cuts. Even if you do something quic, it's always revisited & made proper. 🍻
If the CRV is a tall Civic, i wonder if a Civic dash would bolt in and lower you down to the car height from SUV height so you could keep the Honda instrument cluster under the ElCo windshield. Love this build and I'm looking forward to your first test drive, then your first turbo drive! :)
Complaining about the sun while a perfect set of sunglasses sits on top of your hat is wild.
I believe he was worried about what we are seeing as opposed to himself. He's very self-conscious of his video quality.
@@StaredownGames I figured that too, still gotta give him a hard time for it just because he can take it.
Every time i watch one of your body swap videos, i get excited about body swapping my 65 corvair onto a g body frame.
Film it, I wanna see!
JDM finishes are a must!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nice work, glad you decided to move the body forward, saved yourself a lot of future headaches. Looking good!👍🏼 🤙🏼
Glad he did too... I knew at end of last video when he said he was going to leave it he was lying to himself...
4th gen prelude seats, low and snug. youre making this look like legos. awesome progress.
This would look so cool to make it look like an SS with the Choo Choo front end ! Paint it the factory dark purple and slap on some Torq Thrust wheels. “No one will ever know !
Take tracks off seat & bolt it straight to the floor. Extra space behind seats is for the speaker box!!
I find it *VERY* cool that you went a few steps back & showed it. Lesser people would have done all that & not filmed it, I think this proves that you are human...I guess that's why welders have erasers...wait, that's not it!
Loving this build. Didn't know this channel existed before but now I'm here to stay. Cheers from Brazil.
You have to check out the honda build he is giving away. He mixed a gto with honda accord...
@@workingmansrestorations7071 Imma go back and watch previous builds fosho. Thanks
Go watch the Accord build. It's totally worth it, amongst other cool build's.
Definitely second the monte carlo SS front end .. such a good look
You get a lot of that up and down on them big jobs! The El CRVino is going to be sweet!
Looks good so far. Just a note: if you wanted a different look with some additional space, the nose off of an 80's Monte Carlo SS will mount up in place of the standard El Camino nose with no modifications and add several inches of empty space forward of the front frame section for hiding a big intercooler. It was a pretty common swap for these Elky's way back when.
GOAT tip
One of the most intriguing builds of this year. Good stuff bro!
Old school Japanese wheels would definitely be my choice,
"ENOUGH WITH THE GRADUATIONS!" No kidding man! Takes the magic out of the ones that actually matter.
A new subscriber the project caught my eye on the start of the project I was going to let you know
I know enough lazy people in my life that never would have went back and did what you did to correct it never apologize about how long it takes you at least you took the time to go back and correct what you felt needed corrected
I think it looks way better you're killing it keep up the good work
Dude, I just realized: I am somebody's Uncle with an Elco.
i bet youre a cool fkn uncle too
This got my attention from the start. I like what I see so far. It looks good. Great work.
Always loved El camino's. As I got older I bought a honda crv and it's been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned! So when I saw you combining the 2, I was beyond thrilled! Can't wait to see this finished! Keep up the bad ass mods!!
Great lesson here for all you kids its always better to go a bit back to do thing right , Solid project right here can't wait to see it running and all painted ,Great work!
funky jams! is 7am here I just got home from night shift & it feels like party time 😅
Bode, lowkey, those custom floor panels you made are sofkn fresh
Love this part of my weekends. This thing is sooooooo sick and good luck to all on the accord drawing. 🎉
Don't forget to get with Kyle and put a Fuel Tech in it. lookin good Bode!🤘🤘
A match made, surely Garrett Mitchell buys this rig if it is ever for sale,a Honda powered elcamino would be right up his alley. looking awesome man, well done. With the signature ELITE Bodevision paint job and some over the top interior attention this will be a specimen
I’m glad you went back to go forward. It’s coming along great. I love it.Hi from Australia 🇦🇺
You can always get a NRG quick release to bring it closer to you and away from the window some more
This is going to come out sick
"welcome to bode vision" ha ha love that intro
That General Honda is looking good.
CRV seats sit high as hell. if you got some del sol seats or EGs or preludes, youll be SOLID
Now that what I call going back to the drawing board you figured some stuff out and ....BAM... It's lookin real good...💯🙂👍🙏
This is coming out so well! Can't wait to see at all!
ITR Recaros in this thing would be 🔥🔥
Progress is looking good!
That steering wheel to windshield clearance was my concern before. Good call.
I believe Ludacris wrote a song about that already...
Elco reborn, rising sun
First day back, these streets we run
Bode gotta turn left now, here he go
flip the signal stalk down and PUNCH the window
=CHORUS-
PUNCH the window, yeah that's right
Bode gon' hit it after half them lights
Hit it til the day when it's just not there
And he's rollin through the country with the jacked up hair.
"I don't know what number 3 is" because Frankenmino lives!
Loving the progress on this! A bench seat might be a good option also.
Coming along nicely brother! Can't wait to see the end result! Keep up the hard work bro! Blessings from Cape Town South Africa!
Entered the giveaway love the body swaps and crazy ideas that you bring into reality!!!
Coming together nicely
I'm seeing this, and given the similarities- A civic/ monte carlo mashup is popping up in my head (think- full blown Nascar style, boom tubes and all, but Honda H series turbo, FWD).
Also for mashups between JDM and domestic iron, look at the Dajubans they build over there. Lots of JDM touches (seats, dash stuff, aero) on 90's dodge vans.
I just drug a van back to the house to do a dajiban build on. It's a 71 panel van, currently has a 6cyl/ 3spd and nosebleed stance. The plan is to slam it, and power it with a Mazda MZR (ford duratec) 2.5, and use the 5 speed manual trans out of a ranger. I'm hoping for a "90's minitruck lowrider" type driving experience. Should make for a pretty unique parts hauler.
this is coming out clean
Coming together great man! It seems like it is really going smooth! Can't wait to see what paint you got in mind for it!
It's coming together like sock on a rooster 🐓 😂... Awesome Job Adam 👊👊
Great call man sometimes walking back a bit is absolutely worth walking forward how you want in the end.
Number 3 in this cause is bring that jdm flavor to an iconic American muscle in a tasteful way . I’d for sure drop seat since you can tell they heightened from factory civic setup . Get the extended column adapter ,drop the column from the windshield, and set them adjustable seat rails with some brides as far back as possible . And still have room for some bang 🔊🔊 behind . Be awesome if you get to keep washer bottle and wipers 🤔. Keep it coming brotha 👊🏼🍻
This is going to be cool with lower seats! ❤️😎
Hope you keep doing what you do ! And dont go all Hollywood on us like lot of them have !!
Watching and listening to you reveals to me my own self imposed limits. "if you don't cut it away, your not going to finish"
Always good vibes here🤙🏻
Rains every day in FL, going to rely on rain-x alone?
It looks great, this will finish out beautifully.
You will some great storage space behind the seats, make the seating a little lower. I’m fully invested in this build now 😊
I would love to see same Japanese 🇯🇵 mixed with American 🇺🇸 that would be sick… it’s already cool as is can’t wait for the finished product 🧨
' A lot of work going backwards to make it right but I'll forget about it tomorrow and Ill be more happy about the project now!'
I like the music choices and variety on this channel.
So interesting how you rearrange and up cycle
What are your plans for the wipers and especially the motor for these "wishywashers"?
I guess if you are going to use a smaller diameter steeringwheel, the space between that and the windshield would also improve. You might not have to extend or further lower the steeringcolumn?
But man, what a great progress! I'm impressed. Can't get enough of this project!!
It sucks that you had to go back bit you took care of it and now it's looking good 👍 can't wait for the next episode 😃 one of your craziest bulid right here 👌 #bodesqaud #projectcrmino
That's it coming out awesome bro
@14:55 German spec 😂😂😂 “good n tight” 😂😂😂
Ain't no shame in yo game bro! Its working!!!! Cool shhhhh!t
.....I look for update vid on this project daily........,Most exciting build ever in my opinion .......Unibody + extended wheelbase + Vtec.........Should be a proper monster when finished.....I'm thinking the extended wheelbase will make it a great drift/powerslider......
Great project!
Good work, keep it up. Love the videos. "Ahhh the sun is brutal" forgets he has sunglasses on his hat haha😂
Lmao I also saw that in the edit
@@BodeVision I bet you did 😂 just had to call that funny out! Your work is spot on, content is fantastic. I work on wheels for a living. If ever need oe wheels back to perfect condition I'll do a set for free for you!
A stock Honda Civic seat choice do it. Nice job. Love all the builds you do.
Hey Adam. I’ve been a Honda Tech for over 30yrs. I’ve also have been the Body and Collision repair side of the same business. I know anyone can be a dick and a nit picker. Effem!!! You’re doing it the best way possible. It will be a SAFE hot rod. There are so many hot rods out there with terrible bump steer. Bump steer is very dangerous. I know you lowered it some and will have it aligned properly. Just wanted to remind you and I know you know. Freakin eff the haters and jelly folk.
Looks great 👍🏽
I really like the way you are going with this build. For me style wise I would do the outer body almost stock period looking El Camino with a touch of hot rod/race car look and the inside with a more modern look of the Japanese CR-V.
What a great project. Can’t wait to see it completed.
Dude, I want that LS Honda soooo bad.
This has been great
Looking good. I was thinking about all the room behind the seats could be used for a nice sub box and amps. Have it all look like it was period correct for the Camino. I can't remember where I saw it but you can easily extend the control wire on your winch to make moving your projects in and out alone easier. Looking forward to the next video.
Sometimes you just have to go backwards to go forewords. Ask me how I Know.😜 Glad your doing It.
If you pull the steering wheel back and lower the seat. The CRV seat has a storage tray under the seat, as I recall. You can cut that out and lower the seat maybe 2 or 3 inches, I believe. Then you can lie back and maybe even sit up normally if you want to.. You could even move the seat back further if you wanted to. I would!
Mann. It looks awesome…starting to look factory..definitely one of my best sub brother keep doing you..
Its coming together !
Quick release wheel with a extension be perfect
You could section the seat base, and then you would gain the clearance for your head. I think an inch or two would work. Keep up the good work you are doing.
Great tunes 👍
Ok bro u killing me. Next video
Looking good. I like how you are going to do a complete job and really make it all pull together... the engine bay all painted like last civic bay... going to look good
Love the videos neat project
So far so good. Maybe you can consider getting a steering wheel with a smaller diameter as well. Looking forward to more.
Super rad bro .... i really think this is going to unlock the full potential of what the elk was originally intended to be/do .... cant weight bro .. but also love the due processes to buold the rad machines ... peace and love bro keep it rad stay safe and build on l8z famz and keep having fun brotha
Your on the right track with the seats . Definitely lower. By the way my Uncle wouldn't have swapped the Honda. Lol he would just swapped a big block in and sent the Elk. Great work bud. I'm definitely enjoying your channel.
Now thats a lot better then before
The crv seats actually have a spacer between the rail sliders and the seat pan that you can remove. That's what I did to put crv seats in my ek civic hatchback.
Lookin good! I was thinking an integra or civic seat, too... You may be able to alter the seat rail or frame on the existing seats, too.
Very necessary adjustments. Does seem like a pain, but so worth it in the end. Crazy the engine bay is just a Honda with adaptor pieces/brackets. 🤔
Pretty cool
Looks great; cant wait to see more.
You need some kind of ducting for the hvac intake so it doesn't get engine bay air. The Honda hood is sealed to the firewall, in front of that hvac intake, so air is from the windshield area.
it is not straight, so rain doesn't enter the car or hvac!
coming together awesome man!!! just food for thought, take a look at the Monte Carlo SS front clip, it would look REALLY tough on the front of the Elco.. I am almost certain it's just plug and play..
