- This walkthrough will show how to complete "Where's The Guru" Secret quest, which can be activated by finding the first chest. Even though I knew that this secret quest exists since 1.74, I've never managed to find the first chest. Thank you!

Sutch a weird feeling looking at the world i spent so much time in as a kid… and that soundtrack... ohhh I love it.
I think this quest was based on a bug found in Gothic I haha my game would crash sometimes and a text box saying "Where's the Guru?" would pop up. This is evidenced by the "bugs" that you find at the end of the quest.
I love Piranha Bytes and I love Gothic!
God damn i forgot the "Where's the Guru?" Line in Gothic 1. Used to pop up alot when i played around with the cheat console as a kid.
The Guru Meditation was an old error message on Commodore Amiga Systems. Like the Blue Screen in Windows.I think Piranha Bytes adapted this into their own system because of their love to this ancient machine.
It's true, I didn't remember that message from the first Gothic.
This is similar to "The Stranger" quest in Gothic 1, it also sends you to collect books from random places but it's with skeletrons instead of goblins.
I remember! But the objective of Stranger was much more clear :) that was so much fun
Just finished Gothic 3. I play once a year, Summer or Xmas period. Shame I missed this could have incorporated into my gameplay. But my holidays were short so had to rush completing took me 12 days. If I ever get a longer holiday - I hope to spend a full month and doing as much as possible before game completion. Included completely clearing out that hidden beast swarming cave. I can't play during art studying days because find these games thoroughly addictive, won't do anything but play non-stop obsessively until the very end.
Guru knows the taste. He died on/at the beautiful spot behind the waterfall.
i strongly think that this the best "quest easter egg" in the game man..just what a wonderful story , but they trolled us at the end he had nothing good on him and that scroll "army of fear" spawns 8 rabbits around ya' lmfaoo and if u fight they all ran off but the items found till that point are really amazing and they have such a insemnificant price just so u don't sell them

Omg omg omg, i started playing elex a while back and after a while found this place in some waterfalls with a chest similar to those from gothic when you aproched it a gian bug came out to attack you and after killing it and looking into the chest there was a book with 1 paper in it written "where am i?" and with it keys. It seemed familiar but i couldnt connect the dots... Now i know... In gothic 1 2 and 3 there were these simmilar quests finding random ppl with captions "where is x person".

If u didnt start the quest its imposible to guru spawn
I don't know if that is possible to happen, I remember the location of the water falls where the guru is, and then I tried to get there without doing the quest first and it was impossible, I've tried climbing all the mountains next to the guru's location and I couldn't get to that place, so, unless you've been using the marvin mode, I don't know any way to reach the guru besides of doing the quest.
From the guy who played The Witcher 3 and Gothic 3 (before TW games) over 200 hours in both games (completed the quests, searching the areas etc.), i find Gothic 3 realistic and better at some point.
Walking on snow, interrupted while performing magic and world is fully open unlike The Witcher games that have loading areas from one to another.
Too bad that Gothic wasn't successful as The Witcher games because Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods and Arcania ruined the franchise and went downhill.
While The Witcher franchise is highly praised by critics, Gothic is lowly praised.
In fact the developer of The Witcher games was inspired with Gothic games and they took most of the ideas from their games and added them in The Witcher.
Sadly we'll never see successful Gothic sequel, The Witcher took the place...

Absolutely.. Gothic is the mother of all RPG's.. i started gothic 1 in early 2006 and finished like 16 times.. :) i know what is real RPG is :D and its sad how the company broke.. no more stories

I am a huge fan of Gothic franchise but only 1 and 2 + dlc
Gothic 3 was decent but not perfect many bugs and lags (no matter how good PC u had, Gothic 3 was always laggy). Witcher 3 however is perfect in any aspect. And there is a huge space in time between these two games.
In my opinion it is good option that in Witcher 3 are loadings, its not as laggy as Gothic 3 and the world in Witcher 3 is 3x bigger then Gothic, even with computer from NASA Gothic 3 will always have lags cause of bad optimization.
I like Gothic but compared to The Witcher story, Gothic is a fairy tail for bed.

In fact is Gothic is lowly praised and wasn't popular in America. If it was made on consoles back then too with good port, it'd be successful. Because piracy nowadays decrease the money on PC, that's why most of the games are nowadays made on consoles because it's hard to be pirated. Thx to the consoles, game industries rise from the dusts.

Also books aren't considered to be cannon in the game, they're killing most of the good characters and turning them into nemesis or dead. Like Radovid, was good then turned to be ruthless tyrant - lunatic asshole.
This is either a different version of the game then what I have or it is modded. But in any case nice vid

This game looks a lot cooler than people make it sound, but the AI failure around 5:50 is disgusting.
lol.. that was in 2006 and they didn't fix many bugs but still this game is my favorite rpg.
the community patch 1.75 fixes lots of things and makes it better overall
frozen AI still apears a lot near Ben Sala, when you have to kill the scouts in north.. they are just standing there.. and lot of undead do it aswell
U have no idea how much that helps sometimes even if you have played gothic 2 or gothic... Ahh the magic of the game :)

Where do you find the key for the 05:17 chest? The Traveller says "I need the right key" 😅
As far as i remember, unlocks only after completing the previous chest.

I am very late here, but does anyone have any clue to the context of all of this?
Who is that "Guru"? Who are these goblins with weird name that spawn when you open the chests? Why is there an error message in the game titled "Where is the Guru?" etc.
What does any of that mean?
I also hadn't known but after reading trough some comments it seems to be an Easter egg quest line. In gothic I there was a report message when you game crashed saying "where's the guru?" and so they made this "joke" quest in gothic 3. They even put out a secret map for this quest soon after release.
I am interested who first found all these chests and the guru, it must have been pretty hard.
The game developers/gothic team themselves gave a secret map after release.

Explore, do all side mission, hunt animals.. basically everything the game offers.

Finished it yesterday for 100th time.
Got to lvl 90 and I believe I could push near 100 if I killed all map😂

It's close to Braga, you just need to walk close to the mountain until you find the small cave entrance.
Is this an HD graphic mod?
No Mods. Just High graphics in game setting at 1080p resolution

He past one of them, Anog ( In Gothic 2 there were Anog and Inog) in start of Part 3, you will see him siting at his right side. :)
Gothic 2 doesn't have Anog and Inog .... Only some letters found with their names in them from what I know. Finished the game over 200 times and I didn't find those 2 NPCs
