This was the bass I started playing with and honestly I recommend it. Stock pickup is fine, a little noisy but that’s to be expected with single coils. Neck feels great and the tuners are surprisingly good for a Squier. Definitely a good choice for a beginner or small shows
i've been playing and recording with my squier bronco for 3 years and I still prefer it over some of the other pricier basses my friends own. Great reliable instrument.
I bought one to teach my double bass players at school and am contantly surprised at how good it plays and sounds. Also pretty stable setup wise. The tone doesn't match the pricetag. One surprise was how insanely heavy it is. No chance of neck dive!
The woods that Squier use for making their budget instruments seems to vary quite a lot, which is not really a problem as long as you get one whose weight suits you, so get to a music store and try before you buy - I got an Affinity PJ bass because I loved the weight and balance when I played it in the store. Wish I could hear a Bronco with flat wound strings because if I liked how it sounds I'd probably buy one.
Said and done I had my 2019 Bronco Bass converted to a fretless last year from a local music store. The guitar tech guy did a very nice job. It sounds great in a studio, giving it a little bit more of those Pino Palladino and Jaco Pastorius tones. I still play it at some gigs. I've been playing the bass for about 10 years, a little over 6 years on the fretless bass.
I like the instrument, but not the Stratocaster pickup. Needs a proper bass pickup and good flat wounds, but that would likely make it more expensive than an Affinity, which is the next step up the Squier range anyway. I'd like to add a short scale to my collection, and this is the best candidate, but am I prepared to spend money on it ?
I would love that, but it would make the value go up a lot. They made one out of rosewood or laurel fingerboard if you get a black one from the Sonic Series. The Affinity Series Bronco Bass (like the one in this video) discontinued in remanufacturing, as the Sonic Series is the replacement.
I am a somewhat seasoned bass player who has developed poorer motor skills. Short-scale base has been a solution. (And short-scale basses actually sound fantastic!?). I already have a Danelectro longhorn which is great. But a bass with "classic" Fender sound is needed. I have very bad finances these days I'm such a music snob and would never buy this bass even if it sounds ok!?! (Although I really would like to). I'm a fool!
Blame the cheap round wound strings. I have two Squier basses and both were quickly switched to high quality flats. Problem solved, and their tone is A LOT better too.
@@yeoldefoxeh254 Indeed. When I started playing bass (late 60's) flats were the normal strings to use because that's what the instruments were designed for and what they sounded best with - There were no round wounds until 1966. I've tried round wound strings but I don't like how they feel or sound, so I'll pass on them, thanks.

I agree. Replace it with a hot rails pickup and it's great and versatile
Could you record ?
Thank you Gloria Estrada for playing bass lines that flatter the instrument
and sound like a song. Well done.
Finally, Fender made an official video on the Bronco Bass, very nice!

I have a Red Bronco Bass, is awesome pretty versatile i don't regret it

That actually sounds amazing.
Replace the stock pickup with a hot rail and BAM! Pure bliss
I agree
Also replace the tuners

Do more colorways!!!
A white bronco bass would be awesome
Chicago music exhange sells a pink one made for them only
white model is now available!
I just bought this bass off eBay. I can't wait to get it!
I have an American Standard Jazz bass and for some reason I would love to have one of these!
That, is an amazing sounding instrument.

Yes
Please give us the bronco electric guitar
This is a great demo..
Fender basses can take a beating, and still sound great. They even sound better when they're all beat up and scratched up.
Nice tone!

Hi! Which is the most apropriate set of strings to use with Bronco? Thanks😊
Come on Fender make more affordable 5 string Squier basses please! perhaps in some metallic colors ; ) I'd buy one right away.
You should put Ebony for the fredboard tho

Is there a Fender version?
A mustang bass I guess
The musicmaster bass
Musicmaster
nice sound - I have a Bronco too
Squier Bronco. What gauge strings come stock - from Fender - on the brand new Bronco?.
Fender 5250XL Short Scale
Also good for players with arthritis and bad shoulders!
Bring back the American Vintage line already
i am from colombia, are there shipments to here?

I'm a total bass snob but picked on up for my school and its a really great instrument. The tone does not match the pricetag.
Its almost a strat Bass!
More like squire bullet
the stratiest looking bass is the fender bass vi 😜
mustang bass actually
MusicMaster bass really
you're right, apparently the pick-up is from a Strat!
I had one for a few months...was punchy....
The tone knob turned up sounds of poop. That’s coming from someone who’s playing a jazz bass, maple fretboard, and stainless steel strings.
Such disgusting finger noise. Bleh.

I don't have money for this 💔
Look around. I got a free bronco from an uncle and I got a 1000$ guitar for 60$ from a random kid once.
Check a pawnshop I saw one of these for $35
It's a really nice bass.
