I'm 28 and am just now learning guitar after having wanted to since at least middle school, picked this up based purely on this video, and I couldn't be happier! Highly recommended to any other beginners!
Matthew Kim: it should be noted that he is using a mic next to it like you see alot of people do, but the fact remains he is using a cheap amp, so i hear what your saying though. i wish other people did that, alot of times you see people play through expensive amps and pedals and that's automatically gonna make it sound better than it is. of course you can make any guitar sound good when you have the right equipment, but in the real world there all gonna play and feel different. the nice thing about this is, this is a package deal, the amp gets bundled with this guitar. it's a nice starter combo, someone getting there first guitar, this is about what a parent would buy for there kid. it comes with the amp, it's not the greatest but it'll get the job done.
I just bought a used bullet strat in black two hours ago for my son as his first guitar. It felt really comfortable to hold and play. My husband and I both agreed that the playability is better than the new Affinity Telecaster. Possibly because it was set up well and played for a while. My son learned how to play London Dungeon in the store and was so excited to start his guitar learning. Best $82 ever spent.
Recently bought a bullet Tele in black , first thing i had to do was remove the strings and polish up the frets ,then scrape some glue off the fingerboard ,put conditioner on the board ,re string with 10`s as it was B stock i didn``t really mind as it was much cheaper ,when i played it i was very surprised ,the neck felt more V than C shape ,sounded like a Telecaster , made me want to break into those Status Quo riffs right away ,i now plan to purchase a bullet Strat with the humbucker /tremolo configuration so i can string through the body ,add two more springs or block off the tremolo system ,if the guitar sustains as is so be it ,well done Fender Squier ,the classic vibe instruments are on par with the old Mexican one`s ,the only thing letting the bullet down is the tuning machines ,i owned a Tele custom 2 vintage modified and that was the same ,i wore the frets down then sold it.
just a heads up, if your sort of new to guitars, they didn't really say it in the video but HT stands for Hard Tail. i don't completely understand the meaning fully, but it's supposed to help improve tuning stability basically, to help keep the guitar in tune. another thing to note is, if you go back and watch you'll notice that there's no tremolo. what is a tremolo you ask, it's a whammy bar, you know what that is right, well on the HT versions they don't come with that. that is a very smart thing on Fenders part, because on cheaper guitar they always go out of tune. so a parent buying this guitar and amp combo starter pack for a kid won't have to worry about them complaining. previously the Bullet series Squiers were the bottom of the barrel, they were really bad back in the day, so it's nice of them to update there entry level guitar and make it better.
hardtail is what u do to a tremolo to make it only go down and not up, but a hardtail bridge just means it won’t move at all since there is no tremolo, I think it is just an adopted term to describe it.
Have a Fender strat and Tele but 9 times out of 10 the first guitar I grab is one of my modded Bullet or SE strats. I think for me it's because they sound just as good without the weight of a full thickness body and the feeling of freedom from having zero concerns about wrecking them if they fall or crash into something. For me the Squiers are just more fun to play which I'm pretty sure is psychological on my part but no worries. Cheers!
The pickups have a warmth about them. I’m guessing they’re ceramic magnets. I think a beginner would be really happy with it. I prefer a string-through body since it’s a bit better for sustain, but not by that much. It’s a good guitar.
I use a Squier bullet full time. I’ve played and owned several fender Mexican strats, I’ve played fender Americans and somehow I’ve enjoyed the bullet strat the most. It’s the most comfortable and if you change the pickups it sounds identical. The amp makes the most difference anyways so just throw in some good pickups, learn how to do some fretwork and you have an amazing guitar
I have one in the limited edition red sparkle. Great guitar, very comfortable thanks to the light weight. All you need is a proper setup and your good. Of course you can do some upgrades ( tuners, saddles, switch, output jack, and nut ) and then you're really rocking.
My uncle gave me this guitar in pink lol, it was his and had plans to customize it but never did it and since I was interested he decided I could have it. I don't know anything about electric guitars tho so I'm just here to learn
Have this guitar the brown sunburst. Using it with the Boss Katana 50 MKII and 10-46 Ernie ball. I did change the pickups tho because I didn’t like the stock pickups. Also put locking tuners on it, and I was good to go. Pretty good guitar.
I only saw this video after I ordered this guitar and amp combo - (I have the fender version of the same amp)… I’m really looking forward to the guitar arriving
I have a Squire Bullet Stratocaster made in Indonesia; inspected and approved by "Hadi". If it's good enough for Hadi, it's good enough for me. P.S. It's also an amazing sounding and playing guitar 🎸👍
I've never had a Strat with the 3 single coil pickups with the string through body. I traded an Ibanez acoustic electric thin line after 3 years of nothing but problems. I went to Sam Ash looking for a Tele and they were out of stock and he took a artic white with the Rosewood fretboard and HSS HT and I played it and that was my first experience with a Strat. But after playing it for a extended time I noticed that the eleçtronics wasn't that great especially with the bridge pickups. Years later it got stolen and I replaced it with the Indian Laurel fret board and and the electronics were better than the first one I had but it wasn't playable like the first one was.
I was just gifted one and am super excited to learn to shred, I’m thinking iron man should be easy enough to learn and will be playing it in no time…hopefully.
I have one of these in Arctic White, currently learning to play and making some solid progress. If I manage to get to a higher level, I certainly will upgrade to a proper Fender Strat or a Gibson Les Paul, but at the moment this guitar is doing wonders for me.
My first guitar was and is (still have it) a custom painted hand pinstriped (by my uncle) bullet strat. Loved it to death. Sadly needs some electonics attention thing is dead right now. It ran for me for 17 years though
How is it playability wise? I'm an intermediate player on a extremely low budget and am gathering information on this particular model. To me you're honestly the perfect person to ask since you didn't dumb it down to just a "beginner guitar" and have played it for years. I've heard plenty of demos and I really really like it but playability is something people don't talk about that much and just say "it's ok for a beginner". So what are your thoughts?
To me the HSS is a must for a HT. I don't care for string through body guitars because at least one inch of the string is muffled from the body where the HT is a direct sound from the bridge.
Im curious how many absolute beginners watch videos like this that know absolutely nothing about guitars? I suspect there are next to none. Anyone out there not know what an output jack and pickups were before watching this?
I liked but not the bridge, it should be little like telecaster bridge; I mean, Strings should cross the body from the back and out at the other side. It'd have more sustain and stability.
I've heard these bullets are not very good .. but judging from this video , it sounds amazing to me .. i found a used one for $80 , do you think thats a good deal?? Thank you so much for sharing this video Sir.. your guitar sounds great.. wow.
Hard tail means that the bridge is bolted down and doesn’t move. A non-hard tail strat would have a tremolo system with a whammy bar. Hard tails can improve tuning stability because you don’t have to deal with bending the strings out of tune when you don’t have a tremolo lol
Man... I love this guitar. I still have mine from 2009! It's a lot of guitar for the money. But why did you play it through that crappy amp? I know, cause beginners stuff etc. But if you really want to demonstrate that guitar, play it through something better next time. This sound makes me wanna mute the video...

Why is some Squier HT got 22 frets, and a gold logo while this video is showing a black logo and 21 frets version?

There’s a reason why they just rule the 200 dollar price point, they’re just so good for the money, and they do what stratmdoes
