Any chance you've tried these with the mag gauntlets? with basically guaranteed crits on each heavy and all the extra damage you should be at or above the -50% dmg
@@jahloveinfla considered but it’d be totally not worth it. Would not recommend. You’d be taking away a weapon perk to essentially lose damage. I’d try with the abyssal great axe but definitely not serenity personally
this build is SOLID - as someone who had never really enjoyed pvp but due to the artifacts I had to; finding this build saved me. I started season 3 on pvp track 11, today I jus dinged track 200 :D This build carried me through 90% of that. It carried me enough to get comfortable in pvp and start trying some other things. So if you are just getting into pvp I cannot recommend this build enough. Amazing stuff Mr Nyce! Thank you!!!

Thanks for sharing this build. Ive started playing NW again and was trying light GS builds basically open world pve and testing in pvp obviously was though. But just made this build 696 gearscore with some dungeon materia and some cheap trading post and its been a whole different level of survability and killing potential. Still climbing pvp track for Serenity and Freedom so I have a lot more improvement potential with some extra health perks and the artifacts.

very nice build & guide! :) was playing something similar when i started playing new world, talking about heavy armour sns + warhammer. came back in s2 and played mage for a little. now in s3 im playing the assassin style sns + scorpio in light. i just started leveling my professions in s2 and gonna continue now so i may can run this build once i have my professions leveled and serenity. my cup of tea!

Important note on STeadfast Purification is that it does reduce all duration increases. Baseduration, Skilltreeduration extender, attribute durationm extender and such. Invig/Vigor justz work against the BAse Duration. On the weapon ist basicly a cleanse no matter how high enemys stack their debuff timers =)

This build is sweet man. I have been testing 200/200/200 even split and 100/150/350 with grit ward and boy thats tanky and i dont really feel i lose too much damage. Best part about this build is you can be so sticky vs ranged and also trade with any bruiser

I run pretty much this same build on isabella But im runing 257 strength con split and 101 dex. Love this playstyle everywhere. Works in 1v1 3v3 or opr so well
It’s a constant source of damage and helps put a small instance of extra damage in your bursts/pressure. I’m switching to a runeglass slot shortly and suggest that as an alternate 😁
Yea I discussed in an update video. I don’t think it’s worth sacrificing an armor artifact like unyielding or void dark plate, BUT the counter attack 40% empower, healing defense, and I think cleanse applies in the great sword bar 👀
I would say a gem slot will be best. Can add taunts for pve, opal rune glass for other content. MAYBE for wars, going with slowing rupture on the weapon and adding that relative skill will be great
Just got back on new world and trying greatsword/great axe in heavy. Only issu3 I'm having is my buddy is bow/rapier and I can't catch him for nothing. Might have to try this to close the gap on light builds
Are you using the bloodlust ultimate passive from great axe? I highly recommend this setup for closing in on people. I did a great axe s&b build designed just to catch ranged users and runners. I'll try to compile some footage soon, but the keen speed plus sword passive giving 40% haste together is insane man. No escape. That plus two 'gap closers' helps a lot :) Caught a great axe firestaff mage in light yesterday lol

Definitely a good idea. I feel that works better on non heavy armor builds personally, tough sacrifing damage for focus whilst not getting the 10% from medium or 20% dmg from light. But either way focus benchmarks are awesome
@@Nyce-Gaming Well you'll find out in arenas soon enough if we get matched again (well that is if I can get the dang dark matter without losing my sanity) :P Also a note that the "focus gem" is amber and coverts less % than the other gems because it was too strong with the original paladin builds.
Yea the legs help a lot for outnumbered like in the clip I posted today with people throwing ice wall. I’ve been doing unyielding this week a lot tho and will likely settle on it, but who knows. Eating a full hammer combo annoying lol
Ankh had very little influence on the build imo. This is the only build I’ve seen not running shirking heals and tumbler boots so it was really there just to help leeching. Also I myself and others think Ankh was actually buffed 👀

Yup defensive formation affects you. Tried blood drinker, but no luck after 4 runs and wont have time this week :( I didnt go too hard after it because I mostly play heavy builds and that damage loss even with only 200 con is off-putting :( maybe with two onslaught skills or medium I can definitely pull it off. It would be big heals. I'll try it in medium when I can
So this is more of a pvp build then, just wondering if you tried using this in pve dungeons would you need to flag yourself as a tank or as dps or not really viable for muts?

Yes good to start with. Pve will be good as a tank. Go runeglass / gem slot instead of attunement. Get a taunt gem. Drop steadfast counter for rupture skill
Definitely for pve. I would consider 300 con 150 dex 150 strength. And if you wanna pve more I’d add a gem slot instead of attunement so you can get a taunt gem

Honestly I wouldn’t do another jewelry artifact if it didn’t exist. Endless thirst looks good, but I don’t think you can add healthy toast to it unfortunately 😔

Really? Heavy chest artifact gives a separate source of armor that stacks with shriking fort, you become insanely tanky with it. Far more tanky than +crit res will give
@@nib6383 it’s debatable. One will outperform the other depending on the situation. Outnumbered, the resistances may help more, but also fall victim to bigger rends. The heavy helm nullifying crits can help nullify a lot of damage too especially with heavy’s natural crit resistances. Also with how backstabs and headshots guaranteeing crits, the value can be big especially as far as being flat mitigation which can’t be lowered unlike resistances
An interesting note for the heavy chest, the armor bonus it gives is flat armor and cannot be reduced. Both are definitely strong and you're right about them being situational. That's the cool part about artifacts, so many different ways to build/play :)

Hmm I don’t think so 🤔 I think it’s unique perk goes towards empower cap. That plus the 10% from dodging, slash damage ring , and more may help get to cap if that counts
Round shield, I don’t believe the damage is worth the trade off. However I’ve largely considered kite shield. The kite shield heal perk especially with something like odo will provide great heals while also being able to still block a couple hits. Especially with the ankh boost

Yes, but to pve with it, just drop steadfast strike for rupture and take the uninterrupted upgrade. Put a runeglass as your final upgrade in serenity. Do a taunt gem. Would recommend 300 con for mutations instead of the normal 200-200-200

I go over this in the video. There’s a built in passive for haste, but there’s nothing wrong with doubling that speed. When it comes to closing the gap on ranged players or runners as a melee there’s never too much speed especially in heavy. Makes quite the difference
I personally don’t see ankh being replaced. 25% to our lifesteal is so phenomenal. Blood drinker in heavy just sounds like no damage but defenitely great defensively
I thought about this mid recording I realized I had the wrong one slotted but knew I had the right one slotted in my spear load out . I love the shield changes as far as moving the attributes and gs off
@@brunnosalani9563 I had the wrong shield saved to my gear set. The BIS sturdy fort, sturdy, accelerated resolve, shield defense I was speaking on I already had so can just equip that one being that the gear score really don’t matter. Think it’s just like a couple hundred resistances if anything
Definitely viable. Even better now actually. Bleed sweep on weapon is now 28% bleed! Just waiting for the butcher one handed to be available in the mutation rotation (dynasty shipyard)

Use whichever food that gives you stats you use on your build. Highest tier if possible. I use carrot cake cause it’s cheap 😎
I recommend running at least 25 or 50 focus for the extra cd reduction and incoming heals

Yup defensive formation affects you. Tried blood drinker, but no luck after 4 runs and wont have time this week :( I didnt go too hard after it because I mostly play heavy builds and that damage loss even with only 200 con is off-putting :( maybe with two onslaught skills or medium I can definitely pull it off. It would be big heals. I'll try it in medium when I can

Yea I personally don’t like shirking heals, but it’s good. Yea we block more than dodge. Ankh is there to buff lifesteal and offensive healing
So this is more of a pvp build then, just wondering if you tried using this in pve dungeons would you need to flag yourself as a tank or as dps or not really viable for muts?
Definitely as a tank. Instead of attunement go with a gem slot. Take a carnelian gem to activate taunts
How come everyone uses archilles heel for rend rather than empowered stab for their first onslaught ability?
How are y’all dealing with magnify? It’s really shafting me on balancing attributes.
There’s a great magnify calculator out there. Also matching the attributes by subtracting one from the highest until both are equal helps a lot
if you had to prioritize perks for armor what would be your top 3 for each piece? And any suggestions on perks for a GS if you don't have serenity?
Health - freedom - thrust conditioning/flame conditioning (if not one of the two weapon perks). Tho enchanted ward not bad for sure

Correct! I tank with it for mutations! It makes the healers job soooo easier. Imo everyone in a mutation should have it but the healer

I haven’t but plan on it soon and will record. For wars I will likely drop relentless rush for slowing rupture 👀

Yes good to start with. Pve will be good as a tank. Go runeglass / gem slot instead of attunement. Get a taunt gem. Drop steadfast counter for rupture skill

Definitely. Drop attunement for gem slot and carnelian gem. Drop relentless rush for slowing rupture. Super fun

Definitely for pve. I would consider 300 con 150 dex 150 strength. And if you wanna pve more I’d add a gem slot instead of attunement so you can get a taunt gem

I had tried a rapier build previously, but I noticed when doing the MSQ solo, the mobs would do waayy too much dmg for me to handle, whereas the GS has allowed me to kill "boss" mobs without a party while solo questing

I’ll just get level 8 and 81 season cache with genesis dense materia 7000 total. Sword costs 4500. Its 700 gs right away and ready to slice 😊

Look into the heavy Helm instead of chest. Freedom I still think is really nice, I look for health and freedom

Really? Heavy chest artifact gives a separate source of armor that stacks with shriking fort, you become insanely tanky with it. Far more tanky than +crit res will give
@@nib6383 it’s debatable. One will outperform the other depending on the situation. Outnumbered, the resistances may help more, but also fall victim to bigger rends. The heavy helm nullifying crits can help nullify a lot of damage too especially with heavy’s natural crit resistances. Also with how backstabs and headshots guaranteeing crits, the value can be big especially as far as being flat mitigation which can’t be lowered unlike resistances
An interesting note for the heavy chest, the armor bonus it gives is flat armor and cannot be reduced. Both are definitely strong and you're right about them being situational. That's the cool part about artifacts, so many different ways to build/play :)

Healthy-divines mandatory. Then try to get a protection as 3rd perk. I think I saw a good named one in new world database

A perk for great sword is I personally (when not using serenity) is trenchant recovery 👀 amaaaaazing perk for great sword. I’m considering doing the butcher artifact with a trenchant recovery gs . Hmm I don’t think so 🤔 I think it’s unique perk goes towards empower cap. That plus the 10% from dodging, slash damage ring , and more may help get to cap if that counts

You have 100% crit chance when attacking from behind.
⬆️ backstabs guarantee crits and we have ‘trenchant crits’ on the weapon 😉

What do you think about full heavy but with a round shield for a little more damage? Or medium with tower shield?
Round shield, I don’t believe the damage is worth the trade off. However I’ve largely considered kite shield. The kite shield heal perk especially with something like odo will provide great heals while also being able to still block a couple hits. Especially with the ankh boost

Yes, but to pve with it, just drop steadfast strike for rupture and take the uninterrupted upgrade. Put a runeglass as your final upgrade in serenity. Do a taunt gem. Would recommend 300 con for mutations instead of the normal 200-200-200

Yea I mentioned it as an alternative. I like the attunement, but may go gem socket after I upgrade my other artifacts

Definitely could go gem over attunement which is why I mentioned both. I just wanted the consistent damage
Keen speed on a sword is weird because it has a passive for that
I go over this in the video. There’s a built in passive for haste, but there’s nothing wrong with doubling that speed. When it comes to closing the gap on ranged players or runners as a melee there’s never too much speed especially in heavy. Makes quite the difference

I personally don’t see ankh being replaced. 25% to our lifesteal is so phenomenal. Blood drinker in heavy just sounds like no damage but defenitely great defensively

just swap these shields, GS does not matter with shields, sturdy energy do not stack and you have one in your chest piece ;)
I thought about this mid recording I realized I had the wrong one slotted but knew I had the right one slotted in my spear load out . I love the shield changes as far as moving the attributes and gs off

@@brunnosalani9563 I had the wrong shield saved to my gear set. The BIS sturdy fort, sturdy, accelerated resolve, shield defense I was speaking on I already had so can just equip that one being that the gear score really don’t matter. Think it’s just like a couple hundred resistances if anything

Definitely viable. Even better now actually. Bleed sweep on weapon is now 28% bleed! Just waiting for the butcher one handed to be available in the mutation rotation (dynasty shipyard)
