    I want to thank you for you painting with a brush i thought i need to do it with a spray can or air brush

      In fairness, the green was done with a spray can, as was the gloss varnish. Only really the details, undercarriage, and the interior were painted with a hairy stick.

      Thanks! I was quite happy with how it turned out as well, despite the few issues I had.

      Thanks for the kind words! I am glad you enjoyed it, I'll be honest I was a little nervous about putting this one out there >.>'

    I love your skill with using the blade for whittling instead of needing to use sanding. I agree, sanding can make it look TERRIBLE.

      Well, it's not so bad when you go through all the grits and the buffing grits and all that. I just can't be bothered when I can get the same finish in 30 seconds by using a knife.

    Nice build. I hope the car doesn't run into any 'issues'.

      Me too. Good thing bus-sized horned monstrosities are just a thing of the past, amirite?

    How do You thin Tamiya clear paints? I have huge problems with that.

    • @fenrismodels
      @fenrismodels  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When I first buy the pot, there's actually a little space between the top of the paint line and the first lip of the glass bottle. I just fill up to that first mark with X-20A Acrylic Thinner and mix it well. Now that whole pot is pre-mixed; I've found that to be an almost perfect ratio for me, even for shooting through the airbrush.

      @@fenrismodels thanks! I'll try to adjust the advice for small Tamiya jars. I guess I thinned it to much.

    Hi new sub here. Nice car,but as you have a Airbrush WHY not using it on the body?' Makes it much smotther AND thinner, and just 1 small tip. Put on with the airbrush 1 mistcoat of clear,put the decals on. wait 1 day and then 3 coats of clear. 1 mist coat to pget the decals used to the clear,then a bit more heavy coat and the third coat a wet coat. Then you get a perfect paintjob. I am not a pro builder,not giving you the bad vibes. But you can decant the spraycans. And use then Mr Hobby Leveling thinner. Give it a try and you will see the differance. The details on the inside are looking VERY nice.

      Thanks, I'll have to give this a shot on my next one!
      My main reason for not using the airbrush is because I had this color in spray-can form already, and didn't really have any good sports car colors in "normal" model paints. And I didn't want to decant it because I was worried those sizeable metallic flakes would block up the airbrush too much. It's not the best of brushes out there, and I'm still a ways away from having the budget to upgrade to something like an Infinity haha.
      But I'll deff have to keep it in mind for the next two car builds I have in the stash! Especially the Jurassic Park Explorer, that one is deff slated to be all airbrush. Thanks!

      @@fenrismodels You don,t need a infinty or very expensive Airbrush. I got a few ~35 dollar Fengda airbrushes and just polished the needle with Blitzz paste and got good results. The metalflakes won,t block up the needle when you thin down the decanted paint good. Fenga FE-183 K comes with 3 needles and nozzles.3 paintcups and is pray everything with it. From automotive Paint to Nailpolish thinner with the cheapest hardwarestore thinner. After spaying and cleaning a windex type windowcleaner WITHOUT amoniak through it. Not ever a leaking rubber i got in nearly 3 years. And i am also on a budget, disabled and have $75,- a month to spend. From the money i saved buying those cheaper A-B i bought a ultra sonic on Amazon. Good to clean your A-B and good to clean your kit parts. Just handwarm water with a few drops of dishwashing liquid. No need for expensive products. But Watch Barbatos Rex here on you tube. He has good money saving video,s for everybody.

      You should deff give it a try! It's different than planes to be sure, but in a good way. The problem-solving on these is simultaneously the same and a fun challenge!
