It's ironically funny and suited that it took 20 years for the emo message to slowly be embraced and revived in a wider mainstream public. Brings some validation to then angst teens whose minds were ahead of their time. Gerard is a genious.
as a westerner I always loved this song but I never realized how much it would connect with lebanese and palestinian people, defiant towards death and continuing to carry on with so much courage 🙏🙏🙏 I hope you're still safe and all the attacks end as soon as possible ❤️ 🇵🇸🇱🇧
You just got yourself a subscriber. This might be one of the best reactions to this song I’ve watched because it seemed to have a real life connection with you. As most emo teens from the early 2000s will say, this song is iconic, but the amount of emotion you had to this song almost immediately, was incredibly gratifying because a lot of us were ostracized for listening to this kind of music. It’s nice to hear someone connect to it like this. :)
Spot on. I got hooked on the MCR and AFI almost 20 years ago before going through a divorce. I'm now 52 and this still pulls at my heart strings. I don't know what country she's in. But, she's got a new subscriber with me.
From the moment you said “this makes me emotional” I knew you’d understand this song, it took me back to when I first heard it. Thank you for sharing your takeaways and experiences so vulnerably. Keep the lyrics close- “the world will never take my heart.” (and yeah, Gerard way is so hot)
Your interpretation of death and compering it to your current satiation because of where you live is truly heart warming and beautiful. I hope you stay safe out there as I wish all conflicts could end because its good people that suffer and I hope that what ever suffering comes from this is marginally small for you.
Im an 80s kid that grew up on Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth, and Testament. Even I can recognize the genius that is this song. I may not get their other music, but all is forgiven with this song.
What a pure joy it was to watch you react to this classic amazing song. I hope that wherever life takes you, you will always keep the way you felt during this in your soul. It lives in mine. It lives in an entire generation or two. Take the magic with you. And welcome to the MCRmy 🖤
It's one thing to get into the philosophy of this song thinking about death as a distant idea but I think you're so courageous adopting/connecting with it when facing your situation. Keep yourself safe and I'm sure I'm one of thousands hoping you and yours get through this okay
Aaaah MCR!!! Feels like exactly everyone had a time when this song was it! I mostly listen to hiphop & rnb but oh wow how I love to scream out this song. Masterpiece
This was one of the peaks of my generation and I will never forget it. I am and have always been a metalhead. But My Chemical Romance was one of those bands who was able to "blur the lines," so to speak, of the rock/hard rock subgenres and speak to anyone. I was lucky enough to see them live when they co-headlined the Projekt Revolution festival with Linkin Park as part of their Black Parade tour. I also love this album so much that part of my memorial tattoo to my mother, who passed away from cancer, contains some of the lyrics to the song "Famous Last Words" which is also on this album.
I read the song like this: The Black Parade is the parade of all the living (!). They are parading in honour of the ones that died. "And when you're gone we want you all to know - we'll carry on. Your memory will carry on!" In a way, life is the afterlife! And that continuity can be a very triumphant thing, spitting in the face of death.
Brilliant reaction to an iconic song, stay safe my thoughts and prayers are with the people of Lebanon, and the Irish peacekeepers trying to keep you all safe,God bless
I love watching people hear this for the first time. It meant so much to me when it first came out and it continues years down the line and it's beautiful the reach it has ❤
I remember waiting for news about the band when my friend came running with the newspaper and shouted, "Look!!!" It was a picture from that music video, announcing that it would be released worldwide in a few days. I screamed, we both screamed, and we counted down the days until the premiere. I'll never forget how I felt the first time I heard the song and saw the video.
The death parade is a funeral march. His father took him to the city to see a marching band....a funeral drummer. That is why the drums sound like a marching band
Heck yeah I used to listen to them when I was a moody preteen. I still play their songs when I cycle through my old playlists. I was fortunate enough to see them live in Vegas in 2022. Absolutely legendary skills!
Facts I love ghost of you but famous last words always gives chills listening to it and I love it. Also I don't love you is a great little side piece addition
Your joyful energy is SO infectious that it has effected my heart in such a positive way I can only say two things. Thank you, very much. And death is nothing to fear little one. "Death is the road to Awe".
This song is essentially my generations Bohemian Rhapsody. Which is kind of fitting, as Gerard Way is a big fan of Queen, and even got to play this song live with Brian May, Queen's Guitarist!
Stay safe. When I am struggling with feelings of mortality, I often turn to My Chemical Romance. Much of their music deals with death, loss, and pain, and it’s always helped me process my feelings. This whole album is a masterpiece of a composition, but I don’t even think either of their best two songs is on it. “Helena,” and “I’m not Okay” are my personal favorites, and they’re both on “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.”
Ghost of You is IMO their best song, followed by Helena. Both are from their second (I think) studio album Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. This song is the first track on their third album, The Black Parade. Check out Teenagers, on this album. I think it was the second track.
from a music theory perspective this song is also really cool. starting with the sort of baroque/classical style fugue with the desending motif which then is backed by a marching beat, that awesome switch to rock beat, and then the reintroduction of the motif with the bells at the end. brrrrrrr
Um, I know this is an older vid but Gerard Way WROTE the original comic book minis that got adapted into a show. So he created the Umbrella Academy with his artist.
Your mention of Umbrella got me hyped up for you reaction as well. I loved the trailer to season 4 as I love to karaoke 'The End', and 'Dead!' (MCR Black Parade Album songs). I am glad to see new reactions to an MCR song.
I have #1 of the Umbrella Academy comic signed by Gerard. One of the highlights of my collection. I went to see MCR when they toured this album. The concert was in two parts & the first part was MCR as The Black Parade playing the entire album in full. Then they came back out as MCR & played all their earlier hits. I'm pretty sure this would have been 2007, so I guess I must have been 24 at the time & I think I might have been the oldest person at the gig by a good 10 years. Teenagers man, they scare the living shit out of me :D
And PLEASE review Helana by MCR. If you liked the Black Parade (which is in part about his grandmother who is referenced in this song) Helana is about the death of his Grandmother and how he regrets not being there for her in the end. PLEASE review this song I can't wait to see your bubbly joyful energy while you enjoy one of the better sounds ever made. And thank you for letting us be a part of this experience with you ints been an honor.
Just found your channel, this being the first video I see from you and then hearing a missile was targeted near you was a bit of a shock, I hope you remain safe and continue to make videos, you seem to enjoy it a lot. If I may come with a suggestion, I've seen other reactors use a minute or two before they start their reaction to Google the meaning of the song, it can provide some deeper insight into the themes and meanings. I feel it can add something to a reaction. But you're doing a good job non the less. Keep being you. 😊👍
All the love in the world. Stand Strong. Death is nothing but a door to the other side, and we will all be there one day or the other. Death is just going home. From Portugal to Lebanon.
Here is one you might like. Ad Infinitum - Eternal Rains Or Melissa Bonny - Gravitate. But you would probably get into the pop beat beginning of this one.
Although this song could be about accepting death it could also be about a son telling his father that he's his own man and that even he will definitely be remembered he couldn't be that person his father was wanting him to be.
I used to hate this song/album cause how they are overplayed on the radio and how they become a little pop compare to their old work but thinking back this song is really good.
People from my generation can recognize this song with one note.
true
I do. LMAO
I had this CD when it first came out
@alexflames612 are u watching lucifer?
so true
facts
Her: “There’s more??”
MCR: Girl, we’re just getting started 🤘🏾
Holy crap nothing but chills with how real this video got...the world is insane and we're all here
Yeah i didn't expect it either..
:'(❤️
"A song about death is giving me life"
That's MCR for ya! Love this reaction!
It's ironically funny and suited that it took 20 years for the emo message to slowly be embraced and revived in a wider mainstream public.

This made me cry a little you are so wholesome
Naawwwh🥺❤️
Thank you I appreciate it :')
We need more people like you in the world. I really appreciate your emotional and musical understanding and passion ❤
This song is simply legendary! They united all cultures with their music
From the moment you said “this makes me emotional” I knew you’d understand this song, it took me back to when I first heard it.
Thank you for sharing your takeaways and experiences so vulnerably. Keep the lyrics close- “the world will never take my heart.”
(and yeah, Gerard way is so hot)
Love your energy and optimism despite the dangers around you. Hope you are safe.
Your interpretation of death and compering it to your current satiation because of where you live is truly heart warming and beautiful. You might really dig House of Wolves or Mama
Us metalheads can be pig headed when it comes to our musical tastes but we know greatness when see it 😅

Verse:
*First time reaction and vibin*
"I like this 🙂"
Chorus:
*Realization😲*
"WE'LL CARRY ON! 🤟😝"
You should also check out Helena by My Chemical Romance
Will do :*
Aaaah MCR!!! Feels like exactly everyone had a time when this song was it! I mostly listen to hiphop & rnb but oh wow how I love to scream out this song. Masterpiece
Knowing you're still uploading to this day makes me happy, after hearing how close you are to a war.
This was one of the peaks of my generation and I will never forget it. I am and have always been a metalhead. My parents will never understand my love for this song. I hope you dive more into them. This band kept me going so long.
Ps all the best Lebanon ❤
I can understand why.
Thank you❤
Brilliant reaction to an iconic song, stay safe my thoughts and prayers are with the people of Lebanon, and the Irish peacekeepers trying to keep you all safe,God bless
Their albums are art, their songs are art, and their videos are art. I can't think of a better song and video combo.
Thank you sooo much for helping the animals and me personally 😢😢😊
I love watching people hear this for the first time. It meant so much to me when it first came out and it continues years down the line and it's beautiful the reach it has ❤
YESSSS, mcr is amazing
INDEED.
I remember waiting for news about the band when my friend came running with the newspaper and shouted, "Look!!!" It was a picture from that music video, announcing that it would be released worldwide in a few days. I screamed, we both screamed, and we counted down the days until the premiere. Here's hoping there's many many years before ya join the black parade. Take care sis and keep finding the light in the darkness. Keep shining sis
The death parade is a funeral march. His father took him to the city to see a marching band....a funeral drummer. That is why the drums sound like a marching band
Hey you are awesome, I hope you never get hit by a missle you don't deserve it and I'm here to rock with you!!!! Always!!!!!!! Let's go!!!!!!
I grew up 80’s metal but this band was heavy and talented enough to put them on my playlist. Your reaction channel rocks 🤟
MCR had some of the most amazing guitar and drum work of any band I can think of. Gerard Way's vocals are on another level as well.
Heck yeah I used to listen to them when I was a moody preteen. I still play their songs when I cycle through my old playlists. I was fortunate enough to see them live in Vegas in 2022. Absolutely legendary skills!
I went through emo phase
Your enthusiasm is infectious. Yeah, correct, we carry on! ❤
By far and away their most famous song but in my opinion I think the ghost of you or famous last words is their best song
Will check them out!
Facts I love ghost of you but famous last words always gives chills listening to it and I love it. Also I don't love you is a great little side piece addition
The Ghost of You is one of my favorite music videos ever. So powerful.
Ghost of you is an awesome song. But Helena is too. I’m not okay, and Cancer are also amazing. Cancer is a very different beast though. Lots of feels
Your joyful energy is SO infectious that it has effected my heart in such a positive way I can only say two things. Thank you, very much. And death is nothing to fear little one. "Death is the road to Awe".
This song is essentially my generations Bohemian Rhapsody.

Amazing
and that is how an MCR fan is born. textbook.
Your outlook on this song was so beautiful, it helped me remember why I'm here, thank you for that
Stumbled upon the channel, thanks for the reaction, hope you stay safe
Emo is just that.. songs about death, sadness, how to survive that, lyrics that matter, they give you life.
Stay safe. When I am struggling with feelings of mortality, I often turn to My Chemical Romance. Much of their music deals with death, loss, and pain, and it’s always helped me process my feelings. What a legendary song. Great reaction!
Thank you for this. Be safe
wish i could hear this for the first time again
I hope you live a long healthy life. Catastrophicly wounded in combat vet here
I've been summoned. I heard a G note.
Your is the best reaction to this song i have seen yet. Women were crazy for MCR back in the day.
Haven't heard this in years -much needed atm, thanks for reacting. Stay safe sis -TC
welcome
You’re a lovely person
Ghost of You is IMO their best song, followed by Helena. Both are from their second (I think) studio album Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. This song is the first track on their third album, The Black Parade. Check out Teenagers, on this album. I think it was the second track.
Literally my favorite song ever, masterpiece 🙌
how in the world did I miss this reaction?! this is like on of the awesomest songs ever
I can relate to your reaction, and I got emotional watching you. I remember listening to it for the first time when I was 15-16. 🥺
I was 5 when it came out and listened to it when I was 7. I know the first note to well
I’m not even exaggerating this album was HUGE when released
from a music theory perspective this song is also really cool. starting with the sort of baroque/classical style fugue with the desending motif which then is backed by a marching beat, that awesome switch to rock beat, and then the reintroduction of the motif with the bells at the end. brrrrrrr
Your memory will carry on
Its been 18yrs i'm old
I was already basically old when this song came out. Still love it.
Um, I know this is an older vid but Gerard Way WROTE the original comic book minis that got adapted into a show. So he created the Umbrella Academy with his artist.
You have to the song and video for “helena” from them!
I love how they took the idea of “death comes to you in the form of your fondest memory.” and turned it into a full storyline.
Such early 2000s energy from your video haha
Your mention of Umbrella got me hyped up for you reaction as well. I loved the trailer to season 4 as I love to karaoke 'The End', and 'Dead!' (MCR Black Parade Album songs). I am glad to see new reactions to an MCR song.
Stay strong! I hope everything will be alright
You, your family, your critters, and Lebanon itself are in my prayers. And let me recommend MCR"s song The Ghost of You as a possible future reaction
What happening in Lebanon? I know what happening in Venezuela,Israel....and other country
I have #1 of the Umbrella Academy comic signed by Gerard. One of the highlights of my collection. I went to see MCR when they toured this album. This is the 'Bohemian Rhapsody' of a younger generation.
Wow. Beautifully said.
And PLEASE review Helana by MCR. The song about death is giving me life. I like what u said
Emos don't die. We join The Black Parade.
Just found your channel, this being the first video I see from you and then hearing a missile was targeted near you was a bit of a shock, I hope you remain safe and continue to make videos, you seem to enjoy it a lot. I'm not ok is an absolute banger
Guys, we now live in a world where there are people who has not heard of Welcome to the black parade before.
All the love in the world. Stand Strong. Death is nothing but a door to the other side, and we will all be there one day or the other. Death is just going home.
From Portugal to Lebanon.
Te recomiendo q reacciones a todo este álbum es brutal
Believe it or not Rana , my friend
this is called : this generation's Bohemian rhapsody.
and I gotta agree tbh.
Queen is one of my favorites of all time and I’d have to agree 100% It’s a masterpiece of music.
If a missile hit 2 blocks form my house in Portland, OR we wouldn't have power or internet for 3 weeks lol.
Here is one you might like.
Ad Infinitum - Eternal Rains
Or
Melissa Bonny - Gravitate. But you would probably get into the pop beat beginning of this one.
i play this on guitar/dass on my xbox 360 lol
I'm Gen x ..although this is more a millennial anthem I love this concept album .it's brilliant ❤
Try "Ghost of you"
Rock on, Rana. 🤘😊👍
omg you are so awesome :D
For me this song is in the same class as Bohemian Rhapsody
Ah yes the elementary years😅
You are a light in the Dark. I have been through hell and back in my own mind. A few of your reactions really good. Thank you for existing.
9:41 after everything she said and you hear the sonic boom in the background 😳
Next "Famous Last Words" 😊
Although this song could be about accepting death it could also be about a son telling his father that he's his own man and that even he will definitely be remembered he couldn't be that person his father was wanting him to be.
They made another album after this. Different musical style. He decided to focus on his comic book more after that.
Gerard is also cousins with Joe Rogan. Very different people. 🤔
Please react to the full albums; Bullets, Revenge & The Black Parade
Fantastic reaction. May you be kept safe from the tyranny of Israel.
I cried with you. I hope you're safe out there.
its okay, i always cry with this song.
I used to hate this song/album cause how they are overplayed on the radio and how they become a little pop compare to their old work but thinking back this song is really good.
Beautiful! React to "I don't love you"!
