@@nickvending9688 no worries, I did comment on this video ages ago but I seemed to be going through a 'youtube eating my comments period'...I sort of gave up for a bit. 🙂🙂🙃
Some odd things do seem to happen. I get email notifications about comments, go to reply and it says "this comment is no longer available". All good fun I guess.
@@nickvending9688 yes I agree, I've commented on your channel quite a lot, some comments were probably long winded...as I tend to be!🤣🤣🤣, next thing they've gone....maybe I occasionally burn out the youtube 'bullsh#t valve'....as in I talk too much of it!!🤣🤣🤣...all the best to you m8
Hola antonio Intento cubrir muchos oficios diferentes para intentar atraer a más espectadores. Además, me ahorra dinero si lo hago yo mismo. Espero que estés bien, todo lo mejor.
Hello Paul Thank you for your patience. Apologies, part 2 was shelved. My old job was half day on Fridays so I had some workshop time and time to edit videos. Now I work full hours on a Friday and weekends are usually booked up so I don't get as much free time to film the videos. I'm hoping to get something done on it fairly soon because I've got a rifle that needs a sling.
I will be trying isoproponol and a scouring pad to remove the shine. Then the heat treatment in the oven to crack the leather. I might use my outdoor oven to save stinking out the kitchen this time, Mrs V was not happy last time.
Hello Paul, thank you much appreciated. I did try gun blue on my Denix SMLE, it didn't work (I wasn't expecting it to but I had some mixed for another job so I thought I would try). Aluminium black works on Denixs but it is matt black. There must be something that works, I just need to find it.
Putting pure (not compound)neats foot oil on the leather will darken and make leather supple. Drying dry leather is not good for leather and can cause cracking.
Hello, thank you for your comment much appreciated. It does seem odd moisturising something after drying it out but it all adds to the effect. Cracks were desirable in this case to make it look aged. Cracks but not breaks, there is an important distinction - easy to go too far with the process.
Great video i reckon i might give it a go myself 😊😊😊
Thank you, much appreciated.
Go for it 👍🏻

I spray the leather in loads of silicone oil. it works really well on holsters and gun slings. Makes the leather soft too.
Thank you, will give that a go.
Un placer verte Nick ..trabajando el cuero ..
Espero y deseo que estés bien ...un abrazo .
Hola antonio. Gracias, estoy bien. Espero que tú también estés bien. Mis mejores deseos
Nick, What happened to part two? looking forward to learning how to get rid of the shiny surface on leather slings, any ideas?, cheers, Paul.

@@nickvending9688 cheers Nick, you must keep Mrs V happy so out door is a must!!, 😄I might try Acetone to demolish the shine.
Acetone is a good idea. Meths is another I was going to try.
Nick, have you ever blued a denix gun?, if so which product did you use. Regards Paul, great videos by the way.
