You know the creator is a nice person when you see them respond to each and every comment. The backpack looks great! You have earned another subscriber.
Absolutely stunning, I would love to see one with slots for books, laptops, and pens in the interior and side pockets! Also, I bet if you flip the buckle for the top straps, you could get a really tight look to those straps! Absolutely incredible and your daughter is incredibly fortunate to have you as a father. The amount of love and care that went into this to make it perfect for her really shows your character. You didn't just show us how to make a bag, but what it is to be a great dad.
Hey! Great pattern, btw!! I was going to send you a link to the video via your Etsy shop, but looks like you already saw it! Yeah, I've also used a staple gun before . . . it you REALLY need make it tight (or if the tape won't hold)
I hit the “like” button as soon as the video starts because I know it’s going to be amazing! Thank you for sharing your talent with us! VasileandPavel patterns are great!
This is amazing, it is something I have always wanted to make but never had the skill. They made the plans well and you made the product flawlessly. So beautiful.
That looks amazing and I would totally buy it. Although if it were me making it, I would add some modern features into the inside. Like I would make a pocket for a chrome book, or make a thing for a power bank to be sewn into it to charge my electronics. Or even make one of the pockets RFID blocking capable.
It's videos like this that make me think that crimes like arson and theft are way worse than we give them attention for. Just the thought that something that takes this much time and effort to make could be destroyed or lost because of someone else's grievances. I wonder just how many gems like this have been lost to the world forever because of the cruelty of others. Absolute masterpiece of leatherwork
That looks a lot like dieselpunk's motoko mini bag. I'm totally not saying you stole it or anything. This is impressive stuff. I love that perfect mix of beauty and function. If you asked someone to imagine the purest, most quintessential crossbody leather bag, this is what would come to their mind. Or a messenger bag. Some people are stupid. I like to think my version is up their with yours and DPs, but I bet that the one thing each of us would change would be the depth of our pouches, especially considering the weight of leather you have to use to get this guy to hold its shape. They're so small and squarish and nothing fits in them without looking awkward! Water bottle? Ruins the whole clean look. Cell phone? Absolutely perfect, but who's gonna open a strap each time they want their phone. Another feature that I have come to love is magnets disguised as straps. A backpack that I had years before starting leatherwork had them and they make opening and closing your stuff SO EASY. On buckleguy, they sell some for like a few bucks per set, but I buy from applied magetics because they're made in Texas and they're cheap. Like I bought a set of 50 little button magnets from them for $100 or something like that. Good work my friend! Designing your own patterns is an automatic level up.
Thanks for watching! This is definitely NOT my design. I purchased the pattern from Etsy seller VasileAndPavel. Yes! The pockets really could be just a half inch deeper/taller. I've used magnets before and found they weren't strong enough for actual use. What magnetic claps are you using?
Soy coreano. Estaba en TH-cam y vi un video. Hice un gran trabajo escribiendo comentarios. Y lo hicieron muy bien. Es increíble. No sé si pueden leer esto, pero es genial. Te respeto.
It was a pleasure watching you work, sir! I like your technique for locating the center of a strap with a pair of wing dividers - that was clever! You've picked up a new subscriber. :-)
Wow, that backpack is absolutely gorgeous! All of your work is outstanding, and I can only hope to be a fraction of the craftsman you are someday. Your daughter has excellent taste in anime. I’m a lover of the Wild West, and a connoisseur of anime (so to speak) Attack on Titan is one of the best. I definitely recommend watching some anime with her, it’ll be a great time for bonding, and I think you’ll really enjoy the stories, and the way those stories are told in anime.
@@RoadAgentLeather right on! I often forget how much more popular anime is now compared to when I got into it. Love your craft, thank you for sharing it with us!
Damn that is cool that is one of the coolest things I've seen made online so far you have an awesome Talent man keep doing what you doing you'll have like a million subscriber soon
Thanks for watching. The hole spacing on the pattern varies in certain parts. Additionally, I didn't have stitching chisels in the right specs and didn't want to buy new ones.
Great back pack! Better than anything I'll ever own and definitely better than anything I'll ever make but it would have been so dope if the AoT " Wings of freedom" were on it somewhere.
Oh you went and did it…now I’ve got the itch to pull out the leather toolboxes and make something again. I’m in nor-northeast DFW, so howdy neighbor. The saddle stitching comment did it, brought back memories of sore hands and the “want to make something” urge. I really like your long straight edge a lot, it “sounds” like anodized aluminum, name looks like “savage no slip grip”? (Yep, just found it on Ama$on). +++ on the Al knife. As for your prev vid on lasers, we’ll, I’m heading over to Thunder Lasers in Quitman for a look see this week. Looking at mainly for use w other materials, but a few leather samples going w me. Can just imagine the lovely aromas 😱 Thanks for the vids! Have a good’un.
That Texon Stride stiffening..... what is it ..... Amazon in Europe just show me shoes, I need to stiffen my next project and it looks like what i need. Need some help what to use. Backpack looks great.
Watched the video now, this is the most beautiful backpack ever, I love the boxy shape and how stiff it all looks, it's going to mature with age beautifully if you saw someone wearing one in the street, you would just know that is not something you can just buy off the shelf, that has taken time, effort, love, quality materials, years of skill and much more, thankyou for posting it, it was a pleasure to watch it coming together!.. 👍
I really like this one! My son will see this video soon. Will make him watch. I have just subbed and wanted to say I love the 1911 holsters! I wish you had these different leather works of art for sale... Do you? Hope so or will some day..
Forgive my asking, but maybe you can help me. I recently bought an old suitcase for propwork, but it was damaged in transit. big hole punched right in the body. Now people have suggested I just put a patch or such over it, but I was wondering.... is it possible to make a new body for it? Is there a prefered leather for such things, ways of hardened it to hold the shape, etc. It feels a waste for this suitcase to have lasted so long only for it to be deemed useless due to transit damage. Thank you for taking the time to read my inquiry
Thanks for watching! It's not that my regular chisels aren't strong enough (they are). It's that this pattern is engineered with certain spots having variable stitch lengths (the hole spacing). A multi-punch chisel still would have helped for those long, straight runs, but I didn't have them in the required spacing/size. And I didn't want to shell out for new sets of punches just for this one project.
Are the keyhole cuts upside down? I'm not sure which direction the expected force is going to most come from so I have no idea which way they should go, but it seems like the pin wouldn't lock into the slot in that orientation to my decidedly untrained eye.
The keyhole orientation is correct. The stud doesn't lock in the thin part of the slot: It's there just to allow the hole to open up enough for it to push through.
Who! that was a lot of stitching! And, a beautiful piece. I haven’t read all the comments, so I may be asking a question you have already answered. But, here goes. What were you using as a stiffener, and what glue did you use. I am always trying to learn techniques and bet practice. Great work!
That is one extremely handsome backpack and well worth all the time and effort you put in to it.
Excellently done sir
Thank you kindly

Beautiful work and a stunning leather rucksack , out of curiosity what would one cost in money
@17:48 Whats that type of stitch called?
I've hear it called a "box stitch". I have to do it kinda weird because of the angle and the bag stiffener.
