- I owed you a summer color season capsule wardrobe! And for this one I really took some creative liberty, because I usually like to create minimalist capsule wardrobes for styles similar to mine, but I was thinking that it would be cool to create an edgier, still chic capsule for someone who craves more drama in their clothing than I do. I was thinking, what if you just discovered you’re a true summer, or soft summer, and you want to create a colorful capsule wardrobe, but your style is on the edgy side… could you still do that? I’m not 100% sure it’s possible, but we’re going to find out!

This is an excellent premise for a video and gives really interesting results. It's a great way of thinking about what happens if your personality isn't altogether represented by the stereotypes of your colour palette, or if you fall between two types: you need a creative response like this one. Absolutely! The attitude and accessories make it edgy. It doesn't have to be all black leather. Thank you for such a cool way to view edgy!
Definitely. I have a few different styles that I like, some edgier pieces too but you can still include some colour! In fact one bold colourful piece can be what makes an outfit more edgy and striking. 😊. Loving your creative styling videos.

Absolutely! Angles and metallic details are really useful in creating an edgy look, so pointy details in the jewellery and silhouette. I have two pairs of studded biker boots, several pairs of studded stilettos and a studded handbag. I also use high colour contrast a lot for a night time look, so dark coloured pieces with a brightly coloured graphic tee and bright red lipstick. Also, jewellery or tees that make a political statement are great! Worn-in details like rips in the knees of jeans are useful too. You can play with that because paired with a slouchy top and utility boots you’ve got a more 90s, grunge look, but combine ripped jeans with high colour contrast and metallic details and you’re moving into a punk aesthetic.
Also, throw in some animal print somewhere, or tartan, and you are on the way to building an edgy look!
Just wearing colour can be edgy for some people! I'm a Winter colour type and I still avoid black. To me cool dark blues and greens are my neutrals. Its the mix of fabrics, textures and a mix of masculine and feminine accents that I find make an outfit edgy. Im loving this content btw, please do more like this 💗
I'm trying to show you more capsules that work not just for me, but for other people as well - it's hard when I don't have a body to dress! Hopefully one day I'll be able to bring on models.
@@vazq_Fernanda Oooh bringing on models is a great idea! I would love to see you style a real person. An idea I had a while back for a TH-cam channel was to go into my friends & families closets and create a capsule wardrobe. I have yet to do it but i believe you would execute my idea very well 😜💕

If I’m honest, I’m not getting an “edgy” vibe from this capsule. The purple jacket, skirt and white boots all feel very feminine and soft, and I don’t feel like they would edge up significantly with styling. I feel like “edgy” doesn’t have a palette as much as an attitude; for this capsule I would do a gunmetal leather skirt instead of chocolate leather pants, a pair of plaid cropped trousers with a charcoal gray base, a moto jacket instead of the purple jacket, an actual cape instead of the long cardigan, and white Docs instead of the feminine white boots. I would also include a charcoal/faded black band tee.

I love seeing other peoples capsules, it actually helps me with my own, if that makes sense. I really like Victoria Beckhams style. Love that this video popped on my feed! I was stuck with how to incorporate edginess with my light summer pallet. Pinterest showed a ton of black and leather… but I know there’s more than leather, studs, animal print and black/grey to a edgy style

This was so much fun!!! So my style icons are Gwen Stefani & Florence Welch and I try to always have an edgy & a romantic style combined. Soooo, I have realized after many experimentation and slow fashion video watching, that Animal Print and dark flowers are my main allies!! I have a lot of animal print shirts, dresses, etc., but they are in unexpected colors: pastels, greens, etc. I would have definitely included animal print to this capsule! But I loved what you came up with too!
This is amazing. I’m a flamboyant Gamine AND a cool summer struggling to create a capsule wardrobe which will reflect the edginess and the asymmetry , while also trying to implement the styling recommendations of Lydia Tomlinson who is a minimalist 😅 like sandwiches and using only 3 colours
As an actual Dramatic Cool Summer, this was fun to watch! (Though I dress more feminine for my ethereal essence.) I was a bit surprised there wasn’t more grey - that’s my go to when I wanna feel edgy 🙃 Aside from that - great ideas with regards to structure & design!

@@vazq_Fernanda I hope people see me as timeless and elegant but approachable, relaxed, and comfortable---not cold, stiff, pretentious, or aloof. I'm not into brands or overt signs of wealth, but I value craftmanship and quality and would happily invest in custom made pieces, one-of-a-kind artisan work, tailoring, heirloom jewelry...that type of thing. You'd most likely find me at a museum, art exhibit, wine tasting, comedy show, bonfire, burlesque, charity run, farmer's market, pollinator garden, or attending steeplechase and wearing a fascinator than you'll see me wearing ripped jeans, in a mosh pit, NASCAR, rock concert, hook-up venue, motorcycle rally, playing paintball, lounging by the pool, or bar hopping. La Jolla, not Las Vegas. I'm more Tulum than Cancun. ;-) ;-) ;-)

What a great concept! I love that Gen Z fashion seems to be leaning into playing with the boundary between traditional masculine/feminine fashion, and I can’t tell you how much it’s opened my mind to all new possibilities for my style!
I see it in two ways - it can either be very gender neutral, or SUPER gendered. I think the 80's did it best with having gender neutral trendy pieces, in my opinion!

Such an interesting concept and video! I’m a summer colour season with quite an alternative style. I tend to just keep the black pieces as bottoms and then wear a top in a summer colour. I love cool blues, greys, purples and reds with silver accessories. Love the jewelry you picked by the way, 10/10 would wear

Great video! Like your ideas. I would swap boyfriend jeans to a ripped pair to add edge to it and I would choose even more masculine straight cut blazer and a pair of pants with slits that are so in right now!
Very interesting! I think if I were tasked with creating a capsule wardrobe for a more androgynous style but in a summer color palette, I’d rely heavily on a brand like Colorful Standard (I feel like there are many similar brands, I just don’t know them by name).

Great video! It's so interesting to see how you consider every choice. I admire it so much, but fail to apply your technique on my own outfits!😅 I just put on whatever I feel like. I can hardly ever explain why something feels better that other things😐 Anyway, this capsule reminded me of Cate Blanchett in Ocean's Eight - she wore a pastel blue tuxedo, a super elegant piece, but in a very rock n' roll way. How about a capsule based on 2 four piece suits? (Matching blazer,dress, pants, skirt all made from same fabric)
Would you be able to do a video on building outfits for winter type 4 colour, for wearing in hot weather (thus only sleeveless tops, open necklines and skirts above knee lengths) without layering and without tucking in top (as the model as a tummy). Ya, i think it still can. Can you make a spring color fall/winter capsule? I feel like the spring colors are so warm and bright it’s difficult to figure out how to make a fall/winter wardrobe with those kinds of colors.

i'd be really intrested too! I'm a warm spring, so my palette is the warmest between the springs, and during winter i feel more drawn to darker colors, but my palette is bright, warm and light lol

Oh 100%, I describe my style as edgy but I love wearing color, especially purples and pinks. I love a good greyscale outfit and a good black jean, but I love when "edgy" can incorporate colorful.

My Kibbe ID is dramatic. My style mostly leans to edgy minimal in a simple color palette of grey, black, earth tones. Regardless of what style aesthetic I may choose, I try to honor my frame. If I were a summer, some of the tops you chose would be modified to suit my body. I would curate pieces without the little details and prints, more streamlined silhouette. Pretty much basic pieces as a blank canvas that could use jewelry to add interest. And of course shoes can make or brake and outfit.
Can you please do one for clear/bright spring color palette? I’m trying to build a wardrobe for my son this summer and I can’t get prints/colors right. I’ve been using your capsule wardrobe as a inspiration for his winter and spring so a video done for women will be perfect!

This was so fun! Here’s a challenge for you: I’m a busy mom with a couple side hustles and need 99% comfortable, casual clothes. But, I love interesting clothes that are graphic, artistic, even a bit costumey! Nothing overly flowy because that’s hard to keep clean w kids. I’m a Bright Spring who can pull from some winter and autumn colors if they’re really pigmented. How in the world can I feel like me with that contrast of comfort/casual/utility and interesting/street/fashion??

I wonder what her body type was. For me as an inverted triangle, I usually do darker colors or less form fitting layers on top, and more flowy/light on the bottom.

I amire your creativity. Personally it isn't my style but it is so interesting how you can put dramtic style into daily capsule wardrobe. In my opinion in spring color type is possible to create edgy style. I 'm a summer and it was nice to see the capsule in my color palette :) I have some question: How do you understand smart casual style? Even on the base of this capsule I have problem what is main, neutral and accent color :( Is possible to explain it on your 20-minutes free consultation with examples of some capsule wardrobes in summer color type?
