What If Khal Drogo Lived? (Game Of Thrones)

  • One of the catalyst for change in Daenerys Targaryen was the death of her husband Khal Drogo. His death led to the end of her security, the death of her son, and the birth of her dragons. But what if the Khal had lived?

After Laena died and they all got together for her funeral, Aemond claimed Vhaegar. Baela was angry as it was her mother's dragon and hers to claim. Baela's egg hadn't hatched. So with time it woukd have been Baela who claimed Vhaegar years before the war started.

If they directly attack Dragonstone, they lose, period. Stannis still has five thousand men, and unarmored light cavalry is possibly the worst pick of troops in a contested landing. Stannis's fleet launch an attack on the transports, sinking many if not most of them, the Dothraki land and get slaughtered by the Baratheon knights and crossbowmen, their cavalry completely useless in the rocky beaches of Dragonstone. That's it.
17:55 I think Barristan would push for this, but Jorah might not since he really hates Ned for forcing him to...face the consequences of his actions.

    What if Alicent was baren?
What if Alicent and Rhaenyra were in a secret relationship?
What if Vaeghar ate /burned Aemond?
What if Alicent 's children didn't inherit the "dragon riding " gene?
What if Rhaenyra didn't slept with Christian Cole?
What if Daemon didn't make the "heir for a day" joke?
    What if Laenor wasn't gay?
What if Christian Cole didn't kill Jofrey in the wedding party?
What if Alicent died giving birth to Aegon?

    • @ifeeldead463
      @ifeeldead463 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      1) Viserys would have the right to divorce her and marry Laena. Otto would probably hate her for ruining his plans before deciding to try and get Rhaenyra married to his son
      2) On a Rhaenicent shipper POV, yas, on a regular POV, thats gonna make things so much messier. On the one hand, at least those two cant have children but on the other hand, this isnt gonna look good on both of them and idk which side is gonna have it worse
      3) I just know that the Greens will blame the Jace and Luc for his death. Like idk, they pressured Aemmond into claiming Vhagar or fed their uncle to Vhagar. Also Allicent is gonna hate Otto if he says "lets parade whats left of Aemmond for political clout"
      4) Blacks have the advantage unless the Greens get a hold of some scorpion bolts, catapults and trebuchets
      5) Cole might still end up leaving her because tried to pass her bastards off as legit. Like, the open marriage, he'd disapprove but go along with as long as she doesnt string him along but he draws a line at lying like that
      6) Wouldnt change much tbh. Its just that the Blacks have more of an advantage since Jace, Luc and Joff are legit
      7) Not much changes tbh
      8) Yeah, Rhaenyra's gonna resent Viserys and Aegon more. I mean, bad enough that her mother and brother died, then her best friend died too. And if we're still going with Aegon marrying Rhae, thats gonna make her hate him more

What about the show hinting that she was always heat resistant? First she gets into the hot tub that the maids exclaim is too hot. Then she holds the dragon eggs from the coals. It doesn't burn her but her maid gets burned from touching them for just a second. When she says her brother wasn't the dragon because fire doesn't kill a dragon, she already knew she was fireproof. Idk if that's book cannon or not but the show foreshadowed that. I think she would have still attempted to hatch the eggs somehow. It was on her mind before Drogo got hurt

Because I can see a potential path for him, I can see that after the war in the step stones Deamon accepts Corlys offer to wed Maegor to Laena, for one reason Deamon is not an idiot he knows with Alicent marrying Viserys that time is running out not just for him an Rhaenyra but also his son, he knows that Otto will do everything he can to his grandkids on the throne, so having his son marry into the only other family that has dragons is the best option to protect themselves.

Assaulting Dragonstone would quite possibly be the dumbest thing Daenaerys and Drogo could do, while the dothraki are fearsome on land, Stannis has enough ships to dominate Kings Landing, and that's without the forces from the Stormlands. The Dothraki are horsemen, not accustomed to the sea, they'd be useless in a seabattle, and Stannis would reap the renown for smashing them, saving Westeros from a ravaging horde and finishing what Robbert started, que massive morale boost and heavy. Heck, the North would be quite happy to hear that Jorah Mormont is no more (With Stannis' mindset, Jorah will get executed for slavery).
Btw: What if The Westerlings gained ownership of the Reyne lands and mines a few years before the series?

I think a big thing that you did not consider is how would the horde be fed once it makes it to Dorne? Dorne is a desert, a place where the horses would have a tough time being fed.
While Danny is learning politics and pondering alliances, I could see Drogo taking his Khalasar to the Reach to feed them and raid. This would draw Renly's armies away (as long as Stannis hasn't already assassinated him) because he would have to defend High Garden. I could see this leading to a pitched battle with Renly's weakened army after many raids by the Dothraki. Renly's army would most likely be destroyed during this battle, which leads the Khalasar to likely move north towards the River Lands.
Now, Tywin is stuck between Robb's army and a horde of Dothraki, with no extra reinforcements from Renly's disbanded cause. The Battle of the Black Water would then ensue as it does normally, only Stannis would win. Even with Stannis's army shattered by the Wild Fire, he still had the power to take King's Landing. The battle was all but lost when Tywin rode in. Therefore, in this scenario, Stannis takes the Iron Throne and rules for a time (also Cersei, Marcella, Tommen, Joffrey, and Tyrion would be put to the sword or die of poisoning). Stannis would also get custody of Sansa, who could then be used as a bargaining chip to get Robb on his side. This creates an arguably stronger alliance than any hypothetical marriage pact Danny could form.
Tywin would be left to the wolves per say, because Dorne would never accept an alliance with him and he's definitely not forming an alliance with Stannis, who just killed his strongest ties to the throne. Tywin would likely be destroyed swiftly (though he might see the writing on the wall and bend the knee, but I think he's too prideful for that), and there would be no Red Wedding because Walder Frey would never have the backing of the Lannisters.
Now we have an attritioned alliance between Robb and Stannis (and whatever remnants of Renly's army is left) versus the Dothraki and Dorne.
The Iron Islands would probably still raid and take the north because they believe that the Dothraki wouldn't be able to take the Iron Islands (crossing water, terrain that's not advantageous for cavalry to fight on, and nothing to eat ["we do not sow"]) and Robb and Stannis would be too focused on the Dothraki to retaliate. Theon likely will act the same as he did in the cannon timeline by taking Winterfell, or at the very least failing to get an alliance/negotiate a truce between the North and the Iron Island.
I don't see Robb and Stannis winning this based off of Robert's correct assessment of a Dothraki invasion. The Dothraki will raid the small folk, while Robb and Stannis hold up in whatever castles they can. The Dornish would then be able to siege any castle Robb and Stannis try to defend. They could potentially retreat to the twins, but with the Iron Islands holding the North and Moat Cailin, there's not much more to retreat to. Roose Bolton would likely betray Robb at this point in an effort to get on Danny's good side and take the North, though that's a bit of a rabbit hole with all of the different directions he could go. It's kind of a toss up if the Vale will come to help Robb and Stannis, maybe a marriage between Sansa and Robin might do it but that wouldn't change the outcome at all.
Ultimately the Iron Throne will be taken by Danny, but her rule would be short as many assassins would come for her. The lords and small folk alike will hate her and the destruction she brought. I could see this scenario ending with the Seven Kingdoms reverting back to how they were before Aegon, the conqueror who united all*, while Danny will be remembered as the conqueror who destroyed all. In this scenario everyone loses, but Dorne and maybe the Greyjoys and the Boltons (again that's part of the rabbit hole).
I know at this point in the story, Danny as a character wouldn't endorse the total war, but I believe once Drogo has tasted blood she'll end up being swept along in the tide. Only to be blamed in the end for everything. It would be poetic for Barriston to be the one to assassinate both her and Drogo, but I haven't really brainstormed how he would fit into all of this.

    • @jcdenton7261
      @jcdenton7261 วันที่ผ่านมา

I think youre mostly right, but idk how dothraki will feel about attempting sieges when they could just roam and pillage.
I think after stannis takes the throne (he might even be able to come up with a way to defeat them)
The dothraki will start dying of attrition, war exhaustion from a prolonged campaign on a hostile continent but almost certainly mutiny against Drogo.
They will eventually want to return to their own continent and sacred city and don't give 2 shits about Dany so she will either be abandoned or have her army ripped apart from infighting. The Dornish might tire of fighting along side them too watching them go around graping every woman in the continent.
Anyways if Dany can't take the throne quickly her armies days are numbered.
She can't siege kings landing as they don't have ships to blockade it since either stannis or the redwynes will have naval superiority by this point.
      Dany L.

How about you just have Jorah use some boiled wine and a simple Westeros poultice on him instead of blood magic?
Then, I don't think Barristan joins her, without Dragons, so I don't see Jorah being discovered. I don't believe Varys/Illyios spread their resources.
I think Varys probably convinces Selmy that Jaime killed the mad king before Rhagar died on the Trident.
Meaning he was King before he died and that Griff is the rightful King, skipping Dany, plus he's a male.
This would mean Aegon gets Connington, Selmy, and Tyrion(Tyrion isn't gonna give a crap about Dany without dragons, and sticks with team Griff)
Faegon also gets Dorne, not Dany, No Marriage pact for a married Khaleesi, generations removed from Dorne Vs. Elia's supposed child
Without the dragons, Faegon gets a lot stronger while Dany and the Dothraki become a minor annoyance.
They are great warriors and horsemen, but lightly armored and get smoked by archers and knights in plate armor before they get off the beach wherever they make landfall(they only have Jorah, a wanted man as the only guy with real knowledge of Westeros) but Especially if they go against the Mannis Sorry gang, all that Dany has, is because of Drogo's death.

The Dragons were also resurrected while the RED COMET proclaiming dragons was in the sky which had something to do with it. Those eggs had petrified to stone and needed all the magic to bring them to life. If the Dotraki are slaving and raping then I doubt Barriston Selmy would support Dany. And she gets to Westeros earlier. Stannis did really well againt the much larger Wildling army. I could see Dorne in an alliance against the Lannisters and Baratheon. And if Eddard is not dead then Robb has not been named King. But no Dragons. GoT would be completely different without dragons.

The brutality vs the civilization aint really that big of a point. Yes Drogo would be brutal as king but that would mostly effect just kingslanding. • @devilrider39000000
      @devilrider39000000 14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

This might be what happens, assuming Daemon and Caraxes are both fully healthy and still capable of fighting. Aemond, Daeron, Jaehaerys, Maelor, Hugh Hammer, and Ulf White are all dead along with Vhagar, Tessarion, Shrykos, Vermithor, while Silverwing is riderless. This would eliminate a lot of current and potential future threats to Daemon and his line.
Something I think would change is Aegon II does still die but he probably dies sooner in 130 AC instead of 131 AC. After Daemon could rally some more Blacks supporters, him and Caraxes most likely return to Dragonstone to take it back and free Baela. Unfortunately Moondancer would still die in this scenario, but the good news is that a crippled Aegon II and a severely injured Sunfyre wouldn't be much of a fight for Daemon and Caraxes.
Another major change that would happen is that this would prevent Rhaenyra's death and Aegon's III trauma. Aegon III would still become king eventually but his character would probably change for the better. He would have both parents raising him to make him a more stronger and capable king. I also think Jaehara still dies at an early age, and he ends up marrying and having children with Daenaera. Because Rhaenyra, Daemon, and Aegon III are all still alive and remember the Dance of the Dragons, they would steer away from conflict. So Aegon's III son Daeron I would never end up dying in Dorne and would live long enough to have children of his own and continue Aegon's III line.
Long term effects would be Aegon's III brother Viserys II and his line never ascend the throne. That means no Blackfyre Rebellions. I think Daemon Waters is still born but he never becomes Daemon Blackfyre because his father Aegon the unworthy never becomes king. At the end of this scenario Caraxes, Sheepstealer, Morning, and Silverwing are still alive without Aegon III developing a hate for dragons. Its possible somebody claims Silverwing and the Dragons lay more eggs and never go extinct, which could prevent The Tragedy at Summerhall, Robert's Rebellion, and The Greyjoy Rebellion.
I apologize for the long comment, but that's how I think the "what if" scenario could potentially play out had Daemon and Caraxes lived. Feel free to poke holes in my comment, I'm pretty sure there is at least 1 thing I may have gotten wrong. I've got nothing for Aegon VI/Young Griff though, since I've only read Fire and Blood and GOT.

Hard to say, in the show Rhaenyra was more reasonable. In the books she blamed the Greens for the miscarriage of her daughter.

Great Channel and stories, but I think you put way too many scenarios into your story and makes it seem convoluted with too many outcomes. Stick to one story line instead of going off on a tangent about:”well if this happens, or that happens than this could happen, but let’s go with this happening” too much fluff

I don't think Dorne would ally with Daenerys if she came to Westeros as the wife of a Kahl. The Dornish drink their respect women juice, the Dothraki - don't. It think the culture clash would be too much for them to work together. In the show Daenerys could curb the Dothraki because dragons but with no dragons and no real authority of her own I think the Dothraki would do what the Dothraki do and she wouldn't find allies anywhere because of their behavior. The Westerosi like to think of themselves as more civilized so none of them would want to ally with raping marauding savages (even though their own armies do their fair share of raping and marauding). The actual moral high ground that the Westerosi would hold, and the major sticking point, would be that Westeros is majorly anti-slavery. So if the Dothraki did what they always do and took slaves then Daenerys wouldn't find friends anywhere.
