One of the most memorable tracks from ME1. So nostalgic.
I love the whole trilogy, but this one has the special place for its uniqueness and atmosphere. Damn it, its time for another replay.

There is a 1 hour loop of this called On The Normandy here on YT, but I'd rather support your continued efforts to have every piece of Mass Effect ambient audio ever created.
Your work is much appreciated! Thank you. I listen to these cuts at work and they help me relax. When I am on a new Mass Effect playthrough I find my self taking every moment possible on the Normandy to fully flesh out the feels of this music/ambience.
I'm in my 30s and very happy in my private life at least, but man, if I could fantasize, being caught in an epic space adventure and traveling the stars.. of that were ever to happen to me, that would be truly amazing.
God, listening to this reminds me what it felt like to play Mass Effect for the very first time all those years ago.
I remember the first time I read the game codex to this music. That gives the perfect atmosphere for beginning of the game.
Mass Effect 1 probably saved my life....

Nihlus was one of the most interesting characters of the trilogy, a true respectable Spectre, so sad we couldn't dive deep with him.
In ME2 Samara says he killed some unarmed civilians, as far as I know it's the only time after ME1 he gets mentioned.
@SeanSeg Joker and Shepard mention him before the final battle at Earth, but you're right about him being not as respectable as his reputation suggests.
This is one of the sounds you can never forget. Very unique and unforgetable. You hear it and you know. Mass Effect. Thank you for the upload, made my day.
The first act and last act of ME1 had its more memorable tracks, lets not even talk about virmire, virmire has a collection of my favorite tracks in the series.
Mass Effect 1 did so many things right at the same time. The art direction, the story, the music, voice acting, gameplay and so on.
This was honestly my favourite part of the entire series, and is one of my favourite moments of any video game ever. I remember buying the game when it first released on 360 in November 07 and being blown away by this intro sequence. The sheer absolute breathtaking immersion of it all. The way that none of the characters on the ship talked to you like you didn't know what was going on, the promise of a whole new sci fi universe. It's just a shame what happened to it in the end. It's gone now.

@@N3LI415 Well yeah, but Anthem was such a disaster that the team was apparently dropped (Which in itself isn't a good thing mind you, it had a lot of talent.) I just hope this means that the management's learned their lesson that Frostbite isn't a silver bullet and "Bioware Magic" isn't something you can just fall back on. It needs to be worked hard for.
@@writershard5065 The ME3 endings, Andromeda and Anthem are all rancid dogfarts as far as video games are concerned. Yes, BioWare Management is largely to blame. There is one Primary F*ckup still involved in BioWare management, who was involved with the ME3 ending(s), as well as Andromeda and Anthem. As long as that sh*tbomb remains at BioWare, sales will eternally suffer. Can you guess who I am referring to?
The first ME is amazing. It's my comfort game and it holds a special place in my heart.

Yes, a masterpiece. Glowing reviews, millions of copies sold. Proof that BioWare can not only establish beloved franchies, but create an immersive and fun gameplay experience with mechanics that were ahead of their time and may never be done in such a spectacular fashion again. But how good is it really?

Kinda sad that this is on the ost as a brief part of the main Mass Effect 1 theme. I know the song doesn't really develop beyond this but it is SUCH a mood. I wish it was a standalone on the OST.
TH-cam has recently started recommending to me again most of the Gaming Ambience Mass Effect videos and I am loving it! :D

This version of mass effect will always be special. I had the chance to revisit it back in 2020. Played the remaster later on. There is an element of horror lost from the upgrade. Idk something about the 360 verison was special. It just sucks the frame rate was never fixed.
I havent played the remaster that much tbf but i kinda understand that, also the weapon class system is gone which for an rpg action shooter like that is kinda sad (yeah i know there's still no special training depending on the class but still), and i miss the old goofy batarian picture in the codex lol
Man I'd really love some good detective science fiction game in space with conspiracies, exploration, universe politics and deep space travel. First ME felt exactly like that before 2 and 3.
ME2 and 3 lacked the weight, world building and iconic music of 1. Though people didn't like the combat of 1, I for one appreciated it over the sequels clunks and all. The character customization was much more robust and detailed vs the watered down versions of the sequels.
I sure hope ME4 is a much deeper experience like the 1st instead of the stripped down, reddit tier humor, mass appeal trash of the 2nd and 3rd titles.
there wasn't any remarkable humor in ME2-3 as far as i remember, but andromeda oh-lee-shiet....
@@valenesco45 You're not wrong, but it was starting to lean in that direction. At least to me. Yeah, Andromeda should be ret conned into a bad fever dream or something because that game is an abomination.
ME1 was always the realest of the series. I loved the grounded and mature take. ME2/3 felt like goofy action movies. I would kill for a genuine ME trilogy that followed in the footsteps of the original. ME1 was a gamer’s game.
They don't send Spectres on shake down runs.

It reminds me of what I liked about the first game: it's slow-burning, thoughtful atmosphere and scale. The latter made it feel like a plausible interpretation of the future.

still remember this track from 2007. Got the LE edition from GStop or EB games (Cant rmbr that part) cause someone cancelled the pre-order. Awesome game. Awesome memories. Too bad ME3 didnt live up to the hype.

how did captain Anderson know that Nihlus was already at the briefing room if he wasn't there with him?
I would love it if you did ambiance for The Witcher 1. The Druid's Grove Day and night with the lavendar light filtering through the trees. To have half an hour of Geralt walking around the grove during the day and half an hour Geralt walking around the grove at night set to the beautiful Witcher music is something I long for. (Just don't stray too near the wolves and get attacked.)
Another place is Lakeside at night. It is just beautiful the motes of colorful light drifting through the air. To have Geralt walk from the Naiad's campfire, to the Vodyanoi Priest, past the Fisher King's House, to the elves camp and back again all night. This could also be half an hour and then daylight. Daylight is beautiful too, but not at wondrous as Lakeside at night. (For this one, Geralt would have to destroy all of the drowners before recording, they tend to swarm at night.)
You can probably tell I just finished The Witcher Enhanced Edition and I am already missing the beauty of this game.
Have done some Witcher 1 videos in the swamp where the Druid's Grove is, and at the Lakeside but not in that style lol. My work was a little off on some of the older videos, including the Witcher 1 videos. I wanted to do a lot more for the game but by the time I recorded the videos for the game it must've been my fourth or fifth playthrough and I really wanted to get onto Witcher 2, slog through that game again, and finally start playing and recording for Witcher 3 which I have only scratched the surface on at the moment. I probably did miss making some music videos from the game, but the actual ambience wasn't too pleasing on the ears IMO, being the game is quite old now (2007?) but it has some of the most beautiful music pieces ever in a game. Peaceful Moments in the trade quarter is my favourite Witcher song in the trilogy period. I had a free camera mod at one time for Witcher 1 which allowed me to create the videos, but I've since lost it and probably won't bother with it for now unless I can find something else to use. I may dig around a bit and see if I can find something but the last time I grabbed what I needed, it was like finding a needle in a haystack.
I've heard in some documentary that this track was composed by Sam Hulick, not Jack Wall. Just putting it out there.

Mass effect 1 was one of my first games with the 360, I loved every second of it and when the remaster came out it got even better. Never forget this track
