The PA system announcements detailing current events across the galaxy, the exodus of refugees growing bigger every time you visited the citadel, oh and the missing persons billboard, loved the detail and made you feel like these are the end times.
Don't forget the elcor ambassador, he comes the closest any elcor in-game to expressing an emotion like humans when he discovers the elcor are doomed to die out and says "Not. Enough." when asked how many escaped
I never noticed there was a missing persons billboard. I never really stopped to look at the environment much, its a shame though. I must have missed a lot of details
The majority of people tend to flock to some dumb Hans Zimmer level epic soundscape I believe, subtle beauty like the ME ambient tracks are mostly revered by folk like us. The almost 200k views this track has was probably accumulated by 28 of us just having it on repeat lmao It's a bloody shame how soundtracks and the act of releasing them is treated for a huge number of games. The best example of how it should have been done was probably the 4 Disc Skyrim score or - fuck me - the 4 different discs full of music from Far Cry 5.
I signed in to comment just this. ME3 has a few places where I could SWEAR I hear Mass Effect 1 music layered in the background. I'm almost certain the main menu has 'Vigil' playing just like this, slow and very supressed in the background. But I can almost hear it.
It plays subtly when you’re inside the conference room where the Krogan, Turian and Salarian diplomats have an argument about the genophage. It’s Vigil. It’s audible but very subtle.
I loved spending time on the Citadel even more than the adventures of the galaxy, just because of the great atmosphere. After so many years this game still provides an outstanding soundtrack i can use during my Exams. Thanks for your work!
I wish i lived on a space craft like this and could always hear this music playing non stop. I sware i lived another past life on a ship colony or something. I have reacuring dreams almost every night sense i was a child.
YES! I so totally and deeply share this sentiment. Having nostalgia for a high tech, among the stars future is so incredible. Wondering what could be one day... and imagining that life onboard a sleek spacecraft, going through the darkness of space. Not many people know that strange type of Nostalgia, but you are not alone.
Yeah soo many different people in this world..Can you add music on Presidium ! It will be very chill:)And keep the good work you have one big like from me and subscribe !
This ambient tune definitely resonated with me, it would cause me to stop in my tracks across the embassy hall down the stairs and unto the balcony. I feel for those who comment here, this ambience screams pain and groans with a longing. It gently insists on a moment of pause. It has that drop of tragedy in the mix, like a drop of blood corrupting a flask of clear water with its dark and viscous crimson. Yet, even as these stretches of timelessness gently wail, as it seems to be the end of days for all life, there is a presence of resounding hope. You have to take a moment to listen to it. Even if this appears to be the ultimate catastrophe, against an unstoppable force, a nightmare of the end for all things amazing and wondrous, and lovely, there is still a reason to have hope. To rejoice as things appear to be collapsing all around you. To fight, the good fight. To believe. Unspeakable beauty and testimony can come from an all-time tragedy. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Hold on. The destruction of the war will not be compared to the victory that awaits.
I always thought the whole citadel soundtrack in ME3 represented the beginning stages of indoctrination. Knowing the Station is infested with keepers which are the tools of the reapers, doing their work in a way by maintaining the citadel. I always had a permanent, subtle feel of danger and threat there. God i hope they don´t screw up the remaster.
Wow, nice track! Ive never played any of the Mass Effect games, but got recommended this on YT and after reading the comments below from all of you, I feel like I've missed out on a special game. The celestial-style ambient soundscape sounds amazing!

It's Noveria theme slowed down 600%. Very beautiful, mysterious, soothing and nostalgic like the whole Noveria mission is. Similar to how they used the The Illusive Man theme at Cronos Station slowed down 600% when seeing the past logs before being brought back to life by Cerberus & The Lazarus Project and Uncharted Worlds is also slowed down 600% in the squad selection. Liara's goodbye is Vigil 600% slowed down I think if you accept her gift. I always felt best at the embassies level because of this music just wanted to stay there forever. Then 600% slowed down Leaving Earth in the dream sequences.
I remember as the game progressed this music felt more uneasy as the refugees piled in, the announcement were more grim and the chatter amongst the population grew more worrisome and uneasy. It's a great example of how a game can really capture you. Such a shame that Andromeda turned out the way it did.
@@mattmark94 Exactly! The confidence in the military might of Citadel space and the galaxy slowly faded as more news of outlets and planets falling to the reapers was creepy and foreboding. ME3 was far from perfect, but I did appreciate this.

D e x e d g e You can get the first two for next to nothing with all DLC for free on the EA website. As for ME3, at least for me, it is worthwhile to shell out the cash to experience the entire trilogy one last time. I plan on getting Andromeda over the summer while it is cheaper and doing a whole series playthrough.
This is just amazing!! Thanks for posting! It's really relaxing and I do like to spend more time in the citadel embassies than anywhere else in Mass Effect 3:)
As much as I love ME, this shows the fundamental issue I have with it's level design. This is an embassy for the entire human race yet it is absolutely tiny with most of the prominent spots having nothing to do with what an embassy actually does. What am I missing? Same for the Huerta hospital, it has like 10 beds. I get that the levels needn't be huge but there should at least be a hint at more going on somewhere you can't access.
What I loved about this part of ME3 is how it elicits the feeling of a world that was ending. Everything in the Citadel is still mostly normal, brightly gleaming and peaceful, and yet everywhere you go there are small signs of the growing disaster which will soon engulf everything. I feel like something similar is happening here in 2024.
Aye I thought the same thing but when there's a war, why would you go off exploring. Most systems are either defending, occupied by reaper forces or completely left in ruin with nothing but the reaper counterpart of their species left to rot and indoctrinated souls left to wither without a mind of their own.
Good question, I wish I knew so I could get more of that Mass Effect feel... but I think this series is just too unique to even compare it to anything else.
