I love how this theme persists through all three games. No matter how insane and dark the story gets, the galaxy is always a wonderfully beautiful place.
That track was so "immersive" when i first heared it. It so suits the atmosphere, is so peacefully and can be listened to for eons. Excellently executed.
@Jona Yeah like driving in that shitty mako on lifeless copy & pasted planets was soo much better lol. The side content in all 3 games sucked..the main story and characters were the good parts
I'm a Science teacher, and when I teach lessons about space & show that one Buzzfeed video titled something like "209 seconds that will make you question your existence," that shows the sheer scale of space beyond our Solar System, I mute the sound from that video (don't care for that background music), and play this theme in another tab continuously while I show the space video (pausing the space video periodically to explain something while this music still plays).
I remember the release date of this game. Unpacking it and playing it on my 360. Never have i felt such an explorative spirit until this music qued up. This music itself gives me hope that someday, humanity will reach the stars and find itself in a similar universe as this.
its crazy how often youll hear this theme in completely unrelated media. I came here to listen to it again after hearing it on some Karl Jobst videos and at least those are about gaming in general but Ive also heard it in crazy places like one of "Hoarders" TV episodes. Like I cant think of a more unrelated subject from space travel than people hoarding dirty homes 🤣 if you listen for it Im sure youll hear it all over the place, it makes me wonder if its considered royalty free nowadays or something?

Listening this almost bring me tears. How wonderful universe and history were created with this game
I understood by your comments your crazy for universe a new world a new legend awaiting for you in somewhere where you will be a hero someday somewhere.
It is much larger and varied than we could ever have dreamed of in our wildest imagination. Caught up on the discovery of Steam-worlds yet? There is so much more out there to find, and explore.
Reasons for using the Galaxy Map: 1. To listen to this music. 2. To actually travel from one celestial location to another (admittedly the primary purpose). :)
Can't count how many actual days I've spent in all my playthroughs, visiting planets, m i n i n g planets, exploring planets always listening to this... If I ever go to space irl, this track will definitely accompany me in the journey.
This brings me so much peace. I would leave it on when I needed a break from worrying about the galaxy and to let my eyes rest. And it would play in the background so long id foget where it was coming from, followed by a joyful realization and the resuming of my council sanctioned duties.
Seriously reminds you of how impactful mass effect was when it dropped. The feeling the first game gave you after what came before..it's hard to imagine being that excited about a franchise anymore. This universe was just an awesome independent evolution from what was built on the other sci-fi game from BioWare, KOTOR.
I actually got PS3 and had ton of fun BUT I stop gaming and few years later 2016 exactly I got myself 360 and this game got me back in gaming and it's probably top 5 of all my games and I'm getting old now 41 exactly so I guess I needed that amazing magic from Mass effect what a game what a trilogy

Gaming Ambience so I have seen this vid in 4K and I really like it!! So I would suggest keep uploading vid’s in 4K. But not to all. The vids were the scenery is changed by a copple of minutes that is perfect in 4K👍🏻🙂
Yeah I definitely won't do this with everything, but special videos for sure. I do however plan to work with 1440p/60 with most newish games like Mankind Divided, Andromeda, Witcher 3 and even Dragon Age: Inquisition perhaps. Thanks a lot for the feedback.
Man I remember in the early mornings 2nd grade I would be getting ready and this playing from my brothers Xbox then all day this being stuck in my head, absolutely beautiful
This theme always brings me back to the first time I played this game. I think that's when I decided I wanted to pursue space exploration, within and without aerospace engineering
This is one of the best soundtracks from Mass Effect and I love how you included the Normandy's CIC ambiance here. It gives me all the nostalgic feels. This is perfection and I listen to this all the time.
Something I love about this music is its rhythmic ambiguity. It's in 4/4, but to my ear, some of the note patterns and accents imply a different meter and/or a different downbeat. So even though the bass notes are all whole notes on downbeats, the rest of the music makes them sound like they're on odd beats. I think this kind of ambiguity really reinforces the expansive feeling of the music. I could listen to it endlessly.
I think it’s called polyrhythm in this case, many sound signatures would be polymeter I believe. I think polyrhythm was a big part in Berlin School type music, which I think this piece is inspired by.
The Mass Effect soundtrack is the best I've ever heard, of all the games I've ever had to play. It's original, it's the perfect complement to that trilogy, especially when the game went on sale in its first installment. Listening to it is remembering Mass Effect. It's exciting, captures the essence of the game, and tells me about legendary space futures. It is impossible to forget those magical, wonderful and harmonious sounds.
This is the most iconic music of the entire series. This just carried you into the space immersion, what a piece of art. Could listen to this for hours ... Hope the next Mass Effect game will have this music too ...
I love how passionate every one is about a particular game in the trilogy. Each game by it's own right is wonderful, but everyone has one that they dubbed a "masterpiece". Kinda reminds me of Metroid Prime...
PBS Sinking Cities: Miami just played this in the backround. 11 years later and I had goosebumps before i knew why. Thanks for the nostalgia trip. Commander Korbana Shepard released the Rachni and talked Saren into commiting suicide...no regrets.
I made this into my ringtone back with ME1 released.... All I have to hear is the 1st few notes and instantly taken back. Really was a great time for gaming.
stop asking for fucking remakes/remasters. if sony cant make games backwards compatible on the ps5 what kind of shitty console is it. this trilogy does not need a remake or a remaster. the graphics for all 3 games are still beautiful. how come the xbox can do BC but sony cant.
relentless fighting, you just lost some random private, and you just uncovered that the main antagonist wants to end all life in the milky way. you just became a symbol of humanity for the stars, board the normandy once more, and this theme plays... pure bliss
What I feel when knowing that we are living in the Age of the Transformer. Listening to talk about adaptations of fantasy literature, knowing it all will come alive in just a year or two from now.
I literally made a dance routine for my feet during this. Probably lost thousands of calories to this theme. Also kind of makes it impossible to read the already impossible to process planet info.
