I recently picked up my new daily driver, a BMW X3 M40i. Huge thanks to BMW Swindon for finding the car for me and putting together a great deal. The X3 wasn't the only thing I picked up recently though as I also got a puppy! In this video you get to meet Twiggy, my Jack Russell Terrier.

Haven driven both, I much prefer the X3 M40i over the X3 M. M40i is incredibly tame when you’re just running errands, but if you put it in sport it makes all the right sounds, is reasonably quick, etc etc
BMW's stability and traction control is next level, driven all new Xs and Ive tried to beat it, in half meter high snow and at 60ish kmh, nope there is just no way, those cars find traction where you don't expect em to( ofc until you turn dsc off, then you can slide all day long). Very comfy and safe cars, full of useful daily features/ gimmicks, you wont be disappointed.

Listen and got the x3 m competition especially in donginton silver. For me I dont want multiple cars and it is the perfect one car garage! Considered another rs4 but the theft risk is super high

I also daily a 2019 X3 M40i here in the 'States, and I love the car. I've had it for over a year at this point. You mentioned a lot of what I like about it as well; the comfort, infotainment system, the harman-kardon audio and so on. I'd add that it's sneaky quick too and handles well (given the tires that I'll mention) in the various sport modes. I have the 19' wheels opposed to the 20' or the 21's. The wheels don't really matter all that much (except the wheels you have are a LOT more attractive), it's the tires that I don't really care for. I'd rather have some good performance all-weather without the run flat. I live in the New England area, so winter is about half the year.
lol should’ve got a touring just to rub it in your face and knowing you can’t/won’t ever get it in the states.
SAM !! Be sure to get a dog cage for the dog to have at the back, to protect her. Having the dog in the front seat is wrong and she is unprotected. Although she may be pinned, she may not be protected by broken glass and the airbag. Considering that 95% of all traffic accidents that occur in the world, it is the front that you collide with the most.
The last moment reminded me of my little dog, who's now gone to the next life - he'd always want to sit on my lap in the car, and he was so sweet I didn't have the heart to push him away. Never got pulled over though
X3 is a great car. I've had about 5 of the 30d models over the years as daily cars and loved them all. That engine is sweet too, great package
Getting a dog is the best idea ever, they learn quick and you get so much love from them. Just constant smiles and cuddles

Love that you got a BMW X3 M40i. I think it is the sweet spot in the lineup. A little Stage I tune on it is really amazing. Please don't hesitate to do more episodes on the X3 M40i! It is short on my list of cars I want.
Wife and I have the exact same for our family daily. Comfortable efficient, as well as fun in the corners. The sport mode exhaust cracks on up shifts are silly and fun when a little hoon is needed.
This is exactly why I have the Touareg and the 991. The Touareg is perfect for cruising around Seattle doing errands or comfy road trips.
Loving your new outlook on life,as a 'family' man,with a softer daily and a twiggy pup... makes you stand out from other youtubers,and your different approach to cars and life in general,and you just being you,is what i've always loved and appreciated,so please,keep doing what you're doing,by all means...
This is awesome. 6 months ago we lost our jack russel, awesome to see a new one growing up! They are amazing dogs and so clever, and easy to handle. The perfect camera companion.
I daily a X5 M-Sport -- perfect daily. Big enough trunk for moving stuff, comfy for moving people and fast enough to keep me entertained without getting arrested. Good choice!

The "10,000 miles in my daily" and "I just wrapped my daily" videos have been done to death as you said. Spot on. Enjoy the dog life and some comfortable cruising 🙂
I can relate. After owning a string of sports cars including a Porsche and Lotus, I got a GSD puppy and needed something more practical for daily duties / trips to France, etc. Settled on the X3M40i as I needed one car that did it all without costing the Earth to run. Mine’s debadged to make it even more of a sleeper. It’s a great all rounder, a nice place to be for road trips and makes overtaking a breeze. And as others have said, well done on making a video we can all relate to 👏🏽

This is our perfect daily driver. It has an easy to. use Apple Car Play bluetooth hook up, adaptive cruise control and it fits neatly in the garage. Great choice.

the category of car that the x3m and m340i sit in are amongst my favourite types of cars. Stealth and not show off, practical and still very quick. What’s not to like. Also ziggy is amazing!
MORE TWIGGY. Makes perfect sense like you said to have a really normal/boring car when you're driving the crazy stuff as often as you are.
I’ve had 2 X3 M40’s while I was working for bmw for a while and it was one of the best cars to daily drive... a great all-rounder
Great daily. I just got a m135i and the comfort and new infotainment is great and the free service, assistance, wifi etc doesn't hurt either.
Great choice of Puppy Sam, We have a one year old long haired jack Russell. They need to be trained, otherwise they will run riot! Just watch Frasier's dog Eddie!
You know you’re doing life right when an X3 M340i is a boring daily! A living with and long term review of this practical car that people can identify with more easily than something like a Ferrari sounds like a great idea, congrats on the puppy!!

If the difference in price was so big I can see why you'd do that even though I usually hate crossover SUVs and adore Estates. As for living with it that seems more like a topic for a segment on Behind The Glass than a video here on STG

Twiggy is gorgeous, after having had 3 terriers , a Welsh Terrier and 2 Airedale’ Terriers, I can tell you that life will not be dull! Terriers are full of cheeky naughtiness, and character!

I got one of these when they first came out, and came from an X5 M50d. I didn’t have any regrets, as the M40i is awesome!
Oh, I would love to see a 997 (S/GTS/GT3) so much on the channel. They were the pinnacle of modern, yet beautifully old school Porsches. Lovely design (especially the .2) that still stands the test of time. And hands down the best engines fitted to water-cooled sports-beetles.
I picked up an almost identical X3M40i about a month ago too. Absolutely great car! Enjoy!

I've got an M240 and I absolutely love it. It's been tuned too to 460 bhp and goes like a rocket. The B58 engine (that's also in your X3 M40i) Sam is a masterpiece :)
Great to see a somewhat ‘normal’ Daily! I’m looking into my first car, and would love a 911, but with 50 miles each way to/from work, I need something to cruise in on a daily - hence why I’m looking at a 530D Touring! Enjoy the X3 and keep up the good work with you videos! ✌🏼

This new model of X3 looks really really good, interior is fantastic and what a great engine and transmission. Great choice Sam, spec is perfect too. Lovely pup too.
I would love it if you bought a 997. Get a GTS and stick the bumpers, skirts, wheels and ducktail from a sport classic on it. I wouldn’t bother with the roof, too much work. Or get a CSR from RPM Technik.

Well, we're halfway there; same old Vette and RAV 4 Hybrid but a new puppy, an Aussidoodle; 1/4 Australian Sheep Dog and 3/4 Poodle, grey, white, black and tan with one brown eye and one blue eye, ten weeks old...enjoy your Jack Russell,she'll keep you active

Great that you have a cage for her, I see so many people with out it and it doesnt just put her in danger but also you guys, In Sweden if you have your dog lose in the car and the Police sees it you will be fined , Great car btw 😄

I absolutely love the new X3 especially the M40i or M variants. One of the only BMW that still look good and so much fun to drive!
An SUV with character is always awesome! Sport mode - all wheel drive - 4x4 capability, will always pull you out of sticky spots , overtake if necessary, and let it snow let it snow without worries! Love my Mitsubishi Outlander for these reasons , enjoy brother- welcome to middle age plus👍

ill probably be moving in that direction soon as well. either a quick SUV or hatchback, although the quick hatchback category is quite limited in the states (rs6, rs7, and panamera are about it)

I actually really like this. Not every car has to be insane. Particularly in Britain, comfort is more important than drama for 99% of driving
Sam - Get a harness for Twiggy so that she's restrained, then if some idiot pulls out in front of you and you have to anchor on, she won't be hurled into the footwell of your car. You can get versions that give them a certain amount of movement but stop them flying forward and hitting something hard like the dash, I would hate for that to happen to little Twiggy!

Great choice of car Sam. Pete from Petrolhead Tours has one as his family car along with his M2 comp for work. Sweet dog but you are legally required to keep it restrained either with a special dog harness or better still a cage. It does not seem a nearly a year since we met for lunch when you had that yellow Pista.
