The columbarium is old school library Reading Room theme , with the Fireplace and the book urns on the stylised shelves encoraging visitors to stay and keep residents company for a spell . Absolute Genius! 😮
What is the name of this mausoleum and where is it? Also you move the camera too fast and it is making me nauseous at times to watch it. Can you slow down when you pan the camera? Thanks so much, lovely place for sure.
I'm so happy you finally got to tour this beautiful Mausoleum. My grandparents and Uncle are in this Mausoleum. I've been going here since the mid 70's! Thank you Tony and Tyler for exploring this one of a kind resting place.
This place is totally awesome! Good seeing Tyler again. You made a very interesting comment about possible underground burial spaces on the bottom rows of the mausoleum? Great walking tour, thank you very much Tony and Tyler. Have a great day, both of you. 😊😊
Up here in Alaska, we were not affected, but we were told about that warning. Beautiful cemetery, my daughter fell on the ice since it's been in the 40s up here, rain more than snow. And it's December 10th .
That Tsunami warning was crazy. Especially the alert on the phone that stated, "YOU ARE IN DANGER". To say I did a double take is an understatement, lol.
When we were on the upper floor, the skylights and everything bring the light in and it stays warm, but downstairs in that basement area was pretty cold
i got the earthquake notice and tsunami warning here in the PNW, but i was hundreds of miles away from it..was surprised, have never had those notices before, anyway, great place! enjoyed the tour, thank you! 🎄
A Columbariam is the ashes version of the Mousaleum. Being ashes the space required for a Columbariam is MUCH LESS. Here in the Midwest it has become common for larger protestant churches to have a Columbariam located inside the church building, often in the basement of an addition. The individual niche can be expensive. For individuals that can't afford a niche usually a "common pot" is available. Those are a hole dug into the floor at time of construction, the sides are lined but the bottom is left open to the earth. Where I attend church the "common pot" is located in the middle of the Columbariam room (multiple rooms), and 18" square and lined with tiles, it is 6' deep. At the top (floor level) there is a decorative bronze cover and a large Pascal Candle is placed on it to prevent people from standing on the "mass grave" (alternative name). Each niche is 12"X12"X14" and can hold the ashes of 4 people. Each room can hold the ashes of approximately 2500 people in the niches and the same in the "common pot". Since cremation is much cheaper than a casket funeral it has become the preferred choice. My parents and grandparents are buried in the church yard that surrounds the church, but that is out in the country. In an urban environment cremation and burial in a church Columbariam is the exact same thing.
i have a novel idea. When a cruise ship is retired, convert it to a floating mausoleum. Just because you died doesn't mean you no longer can go on vacation.
I believe in Japan they have skyscraper cemeteries with multiple stories and they are located in the Middle of cities - it saves space and everything is under cover. Not to my taste however!
This is second time my comment disappeared. Sorry strange when it does this to me. Wow, a tsunami warning there in Richmond? Be careful out there. This is a beautiful place with a beautiful name.
Amazing mausoleum..........several things I have never seen in others.......and I have been in a lot of them. I swear I heard a ghost.......or wandering spirit..........chewing n smacking gum!
I don't mean to be nitpicky, but were you chewing on something towards the middle of your video? It was just really annoying to hear your lips smack. Please don't take this personally, I'm just letting you know what people hear.
Is it LESS expensive or MORE expensive to be in the "underworld" Area?? (The downstairs, UNDER the downstairs.)Also, known as the "Tsunami swimming zone!"
Beautiful mausoleum but would have loved to have seen more of things. You moved too fast. I feel that your time could be better spent talking about this place more instead of "name dropping" and talking so much of other places you have been. Perhaps you could also find out more facts about this place to present instead of saying maybe it was this or that. I will look forward to seeing how your channel becomes more interesting
Thank you for taking us along this beautiful mausoleum. Really an amazing place.

It’s the Golden Gate mausoleum in El Cerrito, California
Looks like a luxury hotel lobby. Beautiful!
It’s really something!
Great video, nice to see Tyler again, too. This is the biggest mausoleum I have ever seen!

That Tsunami warning was crazy. Especially the alert on the phone that stated, "YOU ARE IN DANGER". To say I did a double take is an understatement, lol.
This is spectacular.
Thanks, Tony
Thanks!!
Omg that place is incredible in size. Was it cold? I know some mausoleums play music. That one looked like it needed piano music. Beautiful...
When we were on the upper floor, the skylights and everything bring the light in and it stays warm, but downstairs in that basement area was pretty cold
You need to go to the chapel of the chimes in Oakland it's so fantastic.
I’ve got some videos from there on this channel

Most larger Episcopal churches have columbariums , mine up I-80 in Roseville has one , I haven't seen a casket at a funeral in church in years
What an amazing tour! So I guess the tsunami dudnt happen, I rarely watch the news.

A cullumbarium where others are placed together is called a auserary

The irony of sitting next to a fire surrounded by cremains...
Hi from SA, beautiful

Amazing mausoleum..........several things I have never seen in others.......and I have been in a lot of them. I swear I heard a ghost.......or wandering spirit..........chewing n smacking gum!
Nope, had some dental work done the day before so I might’ve been doing something weird with my mouth
I wonder what the plaques on the fireplaces said…

Not quite sure I would assume it’s the same
They seem to have the deceased in every nook & cranny, like melted butter on a Bays English Muffin. 😄😉
Dude, the camera is moving way too much to focus on any one thing. Keep at it though. Like to see the subject matter.
Can't hear anything
Really don’t know what you’re referring to the sound was fine on my end
You were on high ground where you were,
Yeah, the mausoleum was up on a hill. The only thing I was worried about is possibly getting home after that lol
@CryptDoor true
Fires near people who whose bodies were burned in a fire (cremation). umm
The video would have been better if the cameraman hadn't been chewing gum.
No gum ..had some dental work done the day before…
Annnnd just like that no ones gonna discuss the
ROBERT E LEE crypt at the very end? He's gonna be p*ssed he got moved! 😂😂
Beautiful mausoleum but would have loved to have seen more of things. You moved too fast.

Well, there’s other videos you might enjoy. Sorry you didn’t enjoy this one.
If you’re referring to me saying people’s names on stones , most of my viewers enjoy that and it does help in a way Keep their memory alive FYI.
Why didn't you guys go up the main staircase first instead of wandering around ? ADHD ?
Just the way it rolled out, but there’s gonna be more of this mausoleum filmed more than one video there
Probably pretty pricey to pick a spot there for over 100 years. Wonder if you pay rent forever, or until you die. Yuck , yuck.
