The Razer Blade 14 you showed us a couple days ago with 16gb of ram and a 3070 TI was 2600 dollars. This Triton with 32 gb of ram and a 3080 TI costs 2999 dollars. I know there are different brands but making the comparison, this Acer is a pretty good option.

Nowadays they come packed with beefy hardware (highend CPU, highend GPU, high clock RAM, high speed nvme ssd), but only measure a couple mm thickness. Just a couple years ago, a laptop with this hardware equivalent would have been twice as thick, or even more. Now, a gaming laptop can be used as a portable device, even students can use them because of good battery life.

Ordered this laptop on Friday and gets here Wednesday, upgrading from a rtx 3060 laptop with a i7 11800H with 16gb ram, one of the omen laptops with those specs in short, from what I've seen it's a really good upgrade from what I have, I got it for $2700 after a price reduction, looked at benchmarks for somw games and this thing is very solid at ultra 1080p any game and still very good on QHD ultra, but what I'm after is the processor since I play stellaris, current cpu doesn't like that game with a good amount of mods so I'm hoping this i9 will do the trick.
@Salem Hajj it plays games very very well, there are some hiccups with it at some points doing normal things, had some boot issues when I first got it which don't happen anymore, sometimes the screen turns off when going full screen in a game and won't turn back on. Small things but I love it
I have the same PC an specs as you do & I play an older wargame called command and conquer zero hour and it's only running on the UHD and not my RTX 3060 and I can't get the RTX to run on the game only. It shows the RTX just running idle

Just bought the Zephyrus M16, should have it in a week or so, i7-12700h rtx 3060. Better cooling system, audio, color accuracy and cheaper wherr i live. Plus one of the RAM isn’t soldered. Still, I’d love to hear what everyone think about those too big boys!
I think this is a solid gaming laptop and is actually much more cleaner than other 16:10 laptops. It's more or less a nice understated machine that you can game on the go. If you can get the i7/3070Ti combo it'll save you much more while offering similar performance to similarly thin devices. It's actually one of my personal favourite machine in the 16:10 gaming laptop scene.

fairly solid laptop to be honest! Acer didn't sell this series in my country as far as i know but usually they offer great price for the performance so they sell like a hotcake in my country. I have to say that i love the placement of Thunderbolt 4! It's too close from other ports but i like acer putting one port at right side and other port at the left side. Very few laptops have thunderbolt ports placement like this so good job for acer!

The ports are a little too close together. I am not a fan of the dc input being infront the vents, where the cable can block the air from exhaust Otherwise, this thing is a charm. Acer never uses good speakers / tunes their speakers. Always bad.. just unfortunate.
I got the i7/3070ti, 32gb ram, 2tb version and i am pretty happy with it. Only thing is my keyboard. The W, E and R keys are a bit lower than they should be. As if they "sank down" a bit. Anyone else having this?
I believe this system as Advanced Optimus and Dynamic Display Switching, something that most premium performance devices don't even have. It's far better than just having a manual MUX switch. It will automatically select iGPU vs dGPU connecting to the internal display, depending if you are gaming. It's far my convenient than my Zephyrus G14 2022. With My Zephyrus, I forgot to turn off dGPU to the internal display, and battery for watching youtube was literally a couple hours long only. Worse yet, with manual MUX switch, I had to reboot every time I select or de-select MUX. I wish I have the Triton 500SE, far better looking.

p3 is just a colour space. Every laptop can support p3 it’s just how wide of the colour space can the panel support. Legion 5i Pro is 77% which is lower but you are correct it’s not identical. But just looking and using the display of the triton felt similar to the pro that’s why I mentioned it

Personally, I would be concerned about the 230w charger powering a 12th gen i9 and a rtx 3080ti.
230W is fine for an I9 and 105W GPU. ASUS M16 for reference uses 240W power brick.

Whenever not using the gpu to the fullest it reverts to low power mode which relies on the ultra battery efficient i9 processor

@Prokilla ZH most games won't use the GPU, strategy games mainly use the CPU and the UHD graphics are enough to not need the main card

Turn off the mux switch. It's connected to the nvidia gpu all the time....let it use the intel IGPU.

I will say it, they ruined triton 500. 2 years ago it was my favorite laptop, with hell lot of aesthetics and rgb. and now look at this garbage piece of expensive aluminium
Exactly man, I understand why a lot of people like the new triton, it’s because of the “thin and light” bullshit than had been going on for recent years, truly a shame for once a masterpiece of gaming
Nowadays, this triton is nothing compared to M16, Razer blade 15/17, Alienware X15/17,
Acer has been disappointing me for around 2 years, they really kills the triton series, the only hope left is the Helios lineup, in this 2022 the helios is pretty darn good actually, maximum performance + outstanding cooling + more rgb, I hope it will defeat the Legion 5ipro and claim the prize the best midrange gaming laptop in 2022
