05:39 The trackpad is off Centre on the Triton as well. Dave’s eyes are receiving him
it is off centre, but on the Triton, it is still acceptable as the keyboard does not extend to the edge and you have more space for your palm while using WASD. While for the Legion, the trackpad is closer to the edge.....
the proportion of the whole lid, the screen, the bezels, the chin, are all so perfect! i just got my flow x13 and im already envious

Acer saw Dave's studio and loved the aesthetic so much they made a laptop based on it
I've had this exact laptop for a couple weeks now, surprised there hasn't been any reviews on it til now. But to me it's by far the best laptop I've ever owned, highly recommend it!
What is the battery life on yours? The Website says up to 12 hours but iam not sure. I would consider it if it has at last 8 hours with integrated graphics.
@@crusty4897 Its not very long at all if you play AAA games but without any stress at all on the system such as web browsing it will last a lot longer, but yeah 12 hours is about right for normal usage, watching videos and browsing.
Hey how hot does the CPU get during gaming? Is it pretty loud? Dave exaggerates on how loud it gets but he just presses the Turbo button. Of course it’s gonna be loud, he’s putting MAX fans!

It’s 4 hours and 20 minutes into the night and I’m watching this video realising one thing. Every Dave’s videos feels like him being like, “okay, come here. Let me be very chilled and honest. Let’s chat bro”
Please help me decide which laptop i should buy. My parents gave me 1650$ to buy a laptop. These are the available laptops in my country that i consider buying MSI gp66 leopard (1650$), ROG strix G513qm (1612$), Acer Predator Helios 300 ph315-54 (1581$), HP Omen 15 en1029ax (1515$) (those are the prices in my country). i will use it to do school stuff, gaming, and mainly to render (blender). which laptop you think i should buy?

Love the look of this device, I'd be super interested if it ran a Ryzen CPU.
Acer nailed with their lineup, was impressed when I bought the predator 17x 4 years ago(still using it today). I bought my cousin a helios.. and most likely im gonna buy another acer for my father.

@Bala VS Personally, I just really don't like monthly payments for something like this, that's not super expensive like a car or house. I'd prefer to straight up buy something than pay it over a period of time and end up paying more in the longer run

I've been watching your videos since you were around 120k subs. I think I've probably watched all of your videos, not because I was looking for hardware or anything but whenever I see you uploaded a new video I watch it. Even if its about something I will never buy (apple).

I've had 4 Acers over the past decade. The one thing that has remained true is that they are designed poorly because eventually the laptop body starts to get statically charged and shocks me while plugged in and eventually the daughter boards for USB, audio etc. fry themselves and stop working. This happened to 3 Acers out of 4 that I've owned. Just a heads up.

The pre-production model for some reason is for sell in Portugal. At least at the store I work in, there is a model just like the one in the pictures.

If it's desktop then it's very good still
You can switch off the trackpad on the Legion by pressing Fn F10 so accidental touch during gameplay shouldn't be a problem.

There is something that is rarely talked about regarding laptops and that is that more and more often dedicated PgUp/PgDn and Home/End tasters are missing.
As someone who types a lot when programming, missing those as dedicated buttons and requiring an extra Fn taster at the top to get their function is a huge handicap. I already need to have Shift pressed to do select combinations with those keys and requiring one more key, or even worse mixing those keys with arrows is such a pain.
This is why I usually prefer keyboards with numpad. I just disable numbers and use arrows and dedicated page, home/end keys from there.
As for keyboards without numpad, a while ago standard layout was to have those dedicated keys at the last column at the right, but now that column either looks to be missing or is replaced with a column that has useless "media" keys that really do not need to be dedicated keys at all.
I thought there wasn't going to be any desks in the studio, now there are 2😁.

Excellent review as always. I have the Legion 7i 2020 version and I personally love the layout and the keyboard response. It is a huge consideration when I buy a laptop since you cannot replace the keyboard. I would say comparing the 2 is valid.
Also,, love how your studio continues to evolve. Keep up the great work!

Been using the Legion 5 Pro for FPS games for more than 1 month now. I have no issues with touchpad being activated accidentally, I never disable my trackpad. Many other reviewers also did not mention the trackpad location on the Legion series being a problem.
Something worth mentioning is that the display is glued to the frame instead of screwed, which makes replacement hard.

I have the original Triton 500 and after 2 years it really sucks ... I 'm happy that theres a new version of it. Mine had major motherboard and cooling problems had send it back :(
Acer should seriously watch their market material, I am impressed they didn't get sued for it.
As someone who owns and loved a Triton 500 from 2019 the SE doesn't appeal to me. At all in fact. I placed an order on a Legion 7 last week and laughed when you whipped it on the table. Think I'll be very happy with my pick.
A triton 700 with a 17in 16:10 and AMD 5900HX would bring back to Acer from my decade long hiadis
