    What do you think of the 14" Acer Predator 300 SE compared to the Blade 14 and G14? Also, if you missed it I reviewed the Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro which you can find here - th-cam.com/video/Bk2DiNBbljM/w-d-xo.html

      It is going to be beaten by both Razer Blade 14 and G14, especially with their higher tier models. While i9-12900H sounds very good in paper, the huge thermal and power requirements inside that tiny 14" chassis, just using standard Fan/Heatpipe based cooling solution, is going to be a huge problem and will affect the gaming performance as well, since now the less power will be available to the GPU, and it will also make it throttle due to higher temps. 12700H with a RTX 3070 100W would have been a far better choice for the max model.

      I just dont See the benefit of intel processor in an 14“ Laptop.
      People who buy 14“ want More battery Life an less Heat, thats why they buy a smaller More portable laptop
      AMD is just so much More Power effizient

    • @123Suryasis
      @123Suryasis 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xha8509 My point as well. Its bad in both ways. Now due to very poor battery, you'll loose the portability. On top of that, you now need to pay high price for having those core i9 but will never get the performance due to thermal and power limitation for an Intel cpu. I won't say it's impossible, Alienware x14 does manages the thermal without loosing too much performance but for that you need to implement far costly and exotic cooling solution.

      Battery life is amazing on both Razer 14 and G14. Plus they both have better GPUs. Downclocking the i9 may be possible and the screen choices, 32GB of RAM, and HDMI 2.1 are huge selling points.

      I see the benefit you could run it on the cool setting and it will gimp the cpu , but since it's an i9 the cpu gimp won't hurt performance.

    I'm guessing they limited GPU on the 14" to 3060 because of the power requirements of the 12900H. I would have preferred to see a Ryzen 6900 in that 14" chassis which typically boosts to 75W (vs 115W for the 12900H) and use the spare power budget for a 3070ti and compete head on with the Blade 14.

And a solid 16 inch machine that doesn't break the bank. It's definitely the most interesting of the Triton series thus far and am glad to see more 16inch form factor in the market.

    Yup 14" is the sweetspot for me bec it fits those small airplane overhead luggage compartments. My plane luggage has a compartment just for that size. Asus just dropped the ball since we have all been having major troubles with MediaTek wifi cards. Utter trash. Good thing they're going back to Intel's. Had to install one on mine. Honestly it should have been a recall or free upgrade to Intel's for the price they were charging for the 3060 version. Major disappointment but Asus has disappointed me several times in the past over other major issues of its peripherals. If Alienware will improve their sizing I will jump ship and go back to them.

      @k1x16 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly, If they release the 14 inch version with AMD 6900HS/68000HS/6700HS then a lot more people will buy this thing, it would have better battery life than the current and previous Zephyrus g14 depending on how their software is configured which is huge, the amount of people I have seen talk about the battery life suggests that most people buy these machines for a dual environment where they go to work/School with this and game later so batter life is important.
      The ram slots are upgradable, the display is good and with a pricing similar to that of the last year's G14 this Laptop with AMD processors would do good in sales. Also the fact that some people didn't want to buy the new G14 because of the AMD graphics card would now have a very good option.
      But if they still somehow configure the intel chips to have a good battery life of upto 10 hours then this would be still be very considerable.

    Good first look, but all this is sorta pointless without price. Acer will undercut competition on price, but enough to take the risk on their brand, which has historically not proven very reliable? Only if you buy a warranty too, I suppose. I’ve used acer devices for many years, both for personal use but also in our company. Those get used for around 10 years (regularly more than that too) and we haven’t had a single failure with one. Obviously we do upgrade components such as wi-fi modules every now and then when there’s a new standard.
      But reliability wise I’ve had a lot of bad luck with other laptop manufacturers, and reliability as well as durability is one of the main reason we keep buying acer laptops.

    I have the 300 se. DO NOT GET IT. I've had a ton of problems with it. The laptop does run a lot of stuff. HOWEVER, the software experience is by far the absolute worse I've had on a laptop, and the laptop has a LOT of problems that are too big to overlook & actively fuck with the health of the laptop.
    1: if put to sleep, the laptop wakes up. Constantly. It doesn't matter if the screen is closed. As you can guess, this is insanely problematic if your laptop is closed in your backpack, as it will make a LOT of noise and heat up quickly.
    2: it really makes a ton of noise. I've had loud laptops. But this is truly something else. It'll often start to make very loud fan noise even if I don't have ANY software open in class. You can see how that's a problem. And it makes loud jet noise when turning on from sleep (so, randomly)
    3: it freezes A LOT, and I have to force shut down the laptop. I think it happens when the memory is at 100% capacity. The kicker is that this happens A LOT when NOTHING is open on the laptop. It just freezes, I can't do anything, and I have to restart it.
    It's good on paper, but shit in practice. The only pro is that the laptop does run a lot (games, premiere...). But I can't even say that, given that it bottlenecks and freezes when virtually nothing is open. You're better off getting anything else.
