Kirby and The Forgotten Land Characters: Good to Evil
The Kirby franchise is often show in lighter, happier tones. However, that typically means that someone will come along in the story to try and ruin that. Thankfully, Kirby and his friends and allies will always be there to try and stop them. Kirby's newest adventure on the Switch, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, fits right in with this formula. This got us thinking: Which Kirby characters could be seen as good, evil, or somewhere in between?

I think Meta Knight should be higher Elfilin actually says that he protects the town which is super kind because he could easily team up with the beast pack but decides to help the weaker ones
But he is a knight that serves justice,so he would never team up with the evil (however the beast pack aren’t actually evil)

kirby should be the highest, as in a video explaining the kirby series, kirby is said to be created from a being called void. void reincarnates itself into a physical form either pure good or pure evil. when void had a very positive emotion, kirby was created. however when void has a very negative emotion, a being of pure evil is created

Also, I'd like to think Tropic Woods is territorial and attacked the trio because they were invading his space, since Tropic lives there, it's likely that the crows took Waddle dees there just to piss him off and have him take his anger on Kirby.

That's why I don't like to jump to conclusions. I also was a little suspicious of him in the first half of the game, but when Dedede captured him I understood he was a good character, and honestly I'm really happy he didn't betray us

We should all know that Fecto Forgo is the true villain of the game.
My prediction was always that he would be related to the main threat but remain an ally. Like in Rainbow Curse, the Floralians, Amazing Mirror (Shadow Kirby), etc.
I like how fecto elfilis is technically ranked the most heroic and the most evil
How about the tourist? She sound terrifying.
I love how every Kirby game has a boss with a tree and this one just kind of accepts that there isn't an actual reason for it.
Pretty solid list, but I'm kind of surprised at the lack of Morpho Knight. He's a pretty "grey area" character from what we've seen of him, I think.
Morpho Knight was originally listed in with the main villain of the game when writing the script. We talked about the characters in the context of this game alone, and Morpho Knight was essentially another phase in the fight with Forgo. If it was left out completely, it might have accidentally been cut out between drafts and edits.
Tropic Woods is just Territorial I guess.

Tropic honestly should’ve been in Grey Area. Morpho should have silver of evil, since he’s literally Kirby’s version of the Grim Reaper, and that makes him unique enough to be a standalone boss.
At least that’s what I think.

The fact that Elfilin is in first place is so ironic considering his legacy pre-release
What makes Kirby even more heroic is that he was specifically helping the waddle dees, even though they act as enemies in literally every other Kirby game
Waddle Dees are more like civilians, they’re technically loyal to Dedede, but they very rarely actively attack Kirby. They kind of just incidentally get in his way most of the time.

I agree with a large part of the list, but just a few nitpicks.
First, shouldn't Meta Knight be above some of the waddle dees as he Is the one protecting the town?
Second, I know that you mentioned that Forgo absorbed Morpho Knight, but I feel he should still be included as the Sole member of the Grey area.
Third, I feel as if this was a little rushed the moment you "packed" the entire beast togueter, and was there a reason why that is?

While it is true that we were under a time crunch because we wanted to strike while the iron was hot, we put the beast pack bosses together because they all fell into a similar catgeory, in that they all were being controlled to get the same goal done, and then did nothing but be helpful to Kirby after being freed. Hopefully that makes a little more sense now :)
If I remember correctly, (whitch I might very well not) Weren't Leon and Dedede the only ones controlled by Forgo? And the rest of the beast pack just followed Leongars commands?
@@dahlia8753 I was under the impression that all the animals in the land were being controlled. If they werent, they still could be argued to not be evil as they were being loyal to their leader who hadnt done anything notably bad before the events of the game, so they maybe figured he had just reasons. And they still stopped doing bad things pnce defeated.
@@silverstorm323 Well Popstar enimies like Poppy Bros and Gabon are present here so I'd like to think they are possesed, but the beasts are following orders due to loyalty.
And elfilin didn’t absorb the bits of forgo’s soul the soul willing gave in admitting defeat. It literally tells you in the trophy’s description

@@b8conbear330 he’s more then capable for escape but remeber the being controlling him was forgo who manage to keep control of dedede and Leon more then once even after Kirby defeated both the first time. Yes you could make the excuse that meta knight could resist that but his restiance caused the creation of phantom meta knight so either way you can’t really deny how powerful his mind control capabilities are. Although I wouldn’t say extremely powerful since dark matter and zero usually requires some sort of object to cleanse king dedede or other character. However dark matters influence must of had been weakened since he was forced out of dededes body in 64

@@b8conbear330 that is true since dedede is a penguin however forgo’s control really only affected dedede and Leon no one else acually. Claworine only joined Leon because she knew she had to help him. The 3 rereturned mini bosses “frosty, gigantic edge and bonkers” only joined because they wanted to not because they were forced to they litteraly just joined. However silly dillo and gorimondo are special cases since we don’t know if they are controlled or not since gorimondo was taking food on free will. However their phantom counterparts are an odd case since they were usually created when forgo meet any of the orignal mentioned except of course Leon himself and any other bosses behind after Leon’s second battle. In order for the phantoms to exist he would of had to attempt to try to take control of them since they were in his dreams memory’s. Taking the point of meta knights view and how phantom meta knight was born
At this point, I’m tired of King Dedede being controlled all the time. It’s become so repetitive and old.

No, he is on the evil side: every villain of videogames is innocent, like the poor forgo that just wanted to be back in his true form, then pink guy that commits unforgivable war crimes arrived, and this proves that if forgo was evil, you would play as him
@@davebambigamingita9292 its true that forgo was captured and experimented on, which would make them angry and vengeful, but even before the experimentation, forgo destroyed/ conquered planets for fun and only wants to be whole again so it can continue destroying and conquering.

11:03 about that if you look at the description of the “leon and carol” trophy it says that clawroline was actually never controlled in fact she wasnt even part of the beast pack, see leon (aka leongar) is her husband and after forgo controlled him carol was getting confused because leon was acting strange but she loves him so much so he did whatever he asked so he joined the beast pack and thus proceeded to fight kirby. Now you could argue that this part should’ve been explained in a cutscene instead of a description of a trophy but giving how they both have like 3 minutes of screen time we can let this one slide

But... Forgo was a test subject and also a spectacle. They were manipulated, tortured, left behind. So I don't rlly blame Forgo since atleast they have a reasonable backstory

I can't get over how he pronounces "waddle"
Despite all that Fecto Elfilis has done over the course of the game a gotcha figure states that the last bit of life remained WILLINGLY returned to Elfilin. I think there's something peaceful about it doing all that harm and then willingly giving up once it knows it has lost and it is dead.
I think it’s less about being peaceful and more about “being whole again, even if I’m not in control anymore” type of thing
I would like everyone to know that we judged these characters specifically in this game alone, meaning anything they did in previous games, shows, etc. were not considered. And in Morpho Knight's case in the context of this game, it felt to us more like another phase in the fight with Fecto Forgo, which is why they were included in the same entry.
Why is meta knight lower then the waddle dees again?
@@Commander-peepers The thought process behind that was mainly because the Waddle Dees contribute more to helping defeat the villain and freeing the others of their kind, whereas Meta Knight protects the Waddle Dees that were already saved. He might have ranked higher if he was helping Kirby directly defeat the villain or free captured Waddle Dees. But in the context of this game alone, protecting the previously rescued Waddle Dees is the one heroic thing he really does. I hope that at least makes a little more sense. I'm sorry if it doesnt.
@@silverstorm323 a agree that the waddle dees help more, but the tilt and tumble and movie waddle dee don’t really help much. Atleast metaknight protects the village. He even beat Goromondo a lot of times.

Meta Knight has the reward of the MK Cup be the blueprint for his sword, which only Kirby can make use of, so in a way he IS helping Kirby by giving him Galaxia.
Also your thoughts on Morpho, sorry but he should be ranked separately. He has no relations to Forgo. He just wanted to send Forgo’s soul back to from whence it came. That being Hell. I’m sorry if you think otherwise, but he’s a whole separate boss, his Figurine gives all the details.
Weapon shop waddle dee should be higher because for the first time you use his services he give you money if you can't afford the upgrade you want
He always gives you the supplies for a first upgrade, whether you have it already or not :)

If I were to make a few edits here:
Leongar was the only member of the beast pack mind controlled with the others simply following his orders as if nothing was wrong.
I feel as though tropic woods belongs in a gray area due to our knowledge of others of his kind. As known, whispy woods and others like him are VERY territorial and attack anyone who comes near them whom he notices. Knowing this, it was most likely that the crows lured Kirby into the living palm tree’s area to try to take him down.
Morpho Knight is his own character who I’d deem silver of evil. Though harmless by himself in his butterfly form, he often tries to absorb powerful spirits of those who have passed to try to make the Kirby universe equivalent of judgement day on whoever is nearby or possibly who the soul was targeting. Only thing keeping him below forgo is the very little information we have on him and the fact he gets beat by Kirby or his pals almost immediately after he comes into the world.
They ALL were, leongar was just the most effected

Edit: Apparently Clawoline and the others, excluding Dedede, were not Possessed. They were just extremely loyal. Leongar seemed nice and caring or used an iron fist as rule. Clawoline was trying to study how to free Leon from the possession.

The grey area should have been reserved for Tropic Woods and Morpho Knight instead of having both the butterfly of death and the grey area completely bumped off.
While Tropic Woods did attack, he probably had his reasons, Tropic probably thought Kirby was a threat and so he attacked.
Morpho Knight, while seemingly having no good intentions and fighting just for the sake of it, did sort of help Kirby by defeating Forgo for him. Even if ID-F86 said no u and absorbed some of his power, Morpho still sort of delayed the eventual clash with the chaotic species of world destroyer.
Tropic likely doesn't like none plant beings getting in his 'bubble' when he is sunbathing and likely also is a grouch.
I know a lot of other people have already mentioned this but, Morpho Knight should have had his/her/their own spot instead of just being briefly mentioned when you talked about Fecto Forgo, because as little of a role they have in the story, they're still their own character, not to mention the fact that they seem to be very important to the lore in the same way Galacta Knight is despite the latter not making any OFFICIAL appearances yet.

He's really the other side of the Forgo coin. Fecto is probably the most evil thing in Kirby thus far, which is saying a lot when Dark Matter is a thing, and Eflin is among the kindest.

There is nothing that Nintendo can do to convince me that the Kirby games have much stakes since Kirby is beyond OP and couldn't/shouldn't ever realistically lose considering his abilities.
The game does a god job of naking me feel like I am playing a god but Kirby does not feel invinceable. Especially in the Ultimate Arena Z.

Some of it boils down to who is writing the script and what they might be interested in talking about at any given time. Rest assured though, that we take ideas, and put them on a large list for script writers to choose from.

Fecto Forgo should probably be the most evil in all of Kirby for NEVER admitting defeat he tries 3 times before his death
Forgo is definitely up there but prob not the most evil since it willingly became one with elfilin at the end of the game, but still one of the most evil since it started trying to kill everything before the game started just because and tried to destroy both the forgotten land and popstar completely out of spite

@@susiehaltmann3342 Forgo was just a world conquer until it got captured by by the Humans of the now forgotten world and was left stranded when humanity left the planet and his other half separated from hit making it powerless to escape. It’s most evilest act was trying to wipe an entire civilization on 2 planet by crashing them.
But in some ways you kind of can’t help but feel bad since I’m was left trapped In lad discovers for such a long time. But it kind of had it coming to it since it came to that world with already bad intentions.
The true most evilest is Void termina, a being made of pure evil and chaos so much that it’s given the tittle of destroyer of worlds. A threat to everything that ever existed.
It tried to destroy two planets. that’s only two. meanwhile Stardream successfully mechanized several planets.

Where the hell is my boy Morpho Knight
You did neglet to go into detail about Morpho Knight, who I feel could be the soul resident of the gray area on this list. Given their role, they go and punish anyone who threatens the stability of the realm [in this case, Fecto Forgo]. He can be seen as a sort of guardian, though the fact that it chooses to fight Kirby does make it so that they're not alinged with either sides. A true neutral you could say.
For probably the 30th time, thanks for the videos 1upbinge. But I would absolutely love it if you make these two. Once again, thank you for making the videos for us!
As for the cover, this is my example based on my opinion.
Heroes: Good: Mario More good: Samus Most good (cover, not literally): Kirby
Villains: Dumb: Bowser Smart: Ganondorf Brilliant: Fawful
(Side note: I would love it if you included every villain in evil to most evil and weak to powerful list).
What two lists might you be referring too? I can kinda guess based on what you said, but I want to be certain.
I would rank king deedee higher in the list because he cared about a single waddldee more than himself. This shows that he cares more about his lackeys more than he likes his own body.

The Beast Pack Bosses get the Bronze Medal of Evil because even though they were controlled against their will and turn good in the end, they still fight Kirby making them get the Bronze Medal of Evil.
Also the commentator waddle dee warn you about the ultimate cup and it is very dangerous
Elfilin has got to be the best character in this franchise. He's the only ally we know that almost sacrificed himself to save everyone.

Why couldn’t you just do Kirby Characters: Good to Evil.
So, regarding Fecto Forgo, canonically it (as Fecto Elfilis) was an extradimensional invader, but we don't know if the tour guide is a reliable narrator on that seeing as Elfilis was captured and _experimented_ on. It's also heavily implied that the seemingly human former inhabitants of what is now the Forgotten Land are the ancients, and we know how "nice" they were to at least one of the "Heroes of Yore", possibly two of them (Hyness is all but confirmed* as being one of the ones who originally sealed Void Termina based on his own dialog, and Galacta Knight/Aeon Hero is implied to be another).
*If you're wondering what confirms Hyness as being one of the heroes, the following excerpt from Hyness's rant pretty much all but confirms it: "We alone were responsible for stopping that repulsive nightmare of a galactic crisis, yet this is how you repay us!" Granted, it's possible that Hyness is an unreliable narrator here, we do know that he was also a "master of a matter most dark" which implies that Hyness has some sort of connection to Dark Matter which in turn connects him to Void Termina. But it's just as possible that that connection came afterwards.
My point is, it's in the character of the ancients to vilify that which they fear, and seek to control, contain or destroy it, and that could possibly extend to their treatment of Fecto Elfilis.

Just finished the game to 100% and it was awesome. :)
I disagree about your placement of the beast pack. I don't know why you even decided to rank them all as one, because they all have various levels of intentions. Mr. Frosty willingly joined the beast pack, so he would probably be the more evil than most of the beast pack. Gorimondo was always aa trouble maker, so he should be further down the list of good. Carol is the only memeber of the beast pack to show compasion, but even though she knew what she was doing was wrong she still chose to do it. Sillydillo doesn't even know why he's attacking kirby, as he was just told "kill small, pink ball." Tropic woods isn't even a beast pack member.
We were writing this script around the time the game came out, so we had to write it while still playing it. So we had to base a lot of what we said by how far we had gotten into the game at any given point and footage and info provided by other people. We understand that a lot of things might make less sense now, but considering we wanted to make this list while people were still playing the game, we might have ended up missing some key points. We apologize for any issues this may cause.

11:00 it is actually confirmed in the mini figure you get when you single handed collect all 300 peices of Leon’s soul that Clawroline wasn’t being possesed, but thought that Leon (Clawroline’s boyfriend apparently) was playing a little game, so that’s why she went through the flow of capturing Elfilin

I like how even though the Beast Pack are Good they still take bronze for worst
We might have been able to split them up if we felt there was enough info to work with, but we felt there wasn't yet. Not to mention that we wanted to strike while the iron was hot and get this one done by a certain time. A lot of entries were actually rearranged differently at first, but some of them were shuffled around due to us wanting to focus on the characters and how they were in this game alone.

Personally I think you should have separated the beast pack a bit more maybe still put the mini bosses together but have the bosses be separate because Claworina cared for Leongar and got you to help save him King Dedede saved the waddle dees Gorimondo and SillyDillo didn’t really do anything positive consciously and Leongar just feels wrong to group with the others
Bro...Fecto Forgo is like Zero (Two) on steroids. Like...Zero Had standards with his possession, that being really only direct control over the queen(?) Of Ripple Star in Crystal Shards....and even then I think that was just a regular Dark Matter force like Waddle Dee and Adeline. Forgo took over a whole world of animals, literally broke their leader's soul, and gained control of another super powerful being.
