This is most especially done when you are swinging the baby in your arms or in a "duyan nga patadyong" - that's a sarong made into a hammock where you can put a baby in. This song is our native song from the province of Antique, Philippines. My late mother used to song it to me to lul me to sleep, when I was a kid of 5 ..The word iliili means swing or rock the baby.
That was a very ingenious twist at the latter part of the song modulating to a major key giving it a brighter and optimistic tone instead of the usual traditional ending in the minor. And the echoey reverb gives it a dream-like imagery which is in keeping with a lullabye, isn't it? I sooo love this version. Great job. Been a fan since the early 80s with Ward Swingle and the France based gen. Mabuhay po kayo and keep making that sweet vocal music.
