Who would have thought that a lullaby sung in the villages of the Philippines will be sung in the international stage! Amazing! Proud Filipino here!
This song is a traditional Ilonggo folksong from the Panay Island in the Philippines. The lyrics are in Hiligaynon, a dialect mainly used in Iloilo. It is traditionally sung by an older sister or elder female relative to pacify a baby and encourage sleep while the mother is at work or on an errand away from home.
This song used to be a very simple lullaby song to put a baby to sleep, now they made it sound better with those angelic voices. Bravo Aleman!!!
Philippines songs are so magical and enchanting!❤
Sounds like when a fairy is walking around the forest. So enchanting.
Composed by my grandmother Isabel Idemne Mirasol, her sister Soledad Idemne Mirasol, and my grandfather Cesar Mirasol Sr.
Philmar Cordero I don't understand the dialect yet this song touches my soul and calms my innermost being.
@@masterb5683 that is one of the dialect in the philippines somewhere in visayas region.
The dialect is called Hiligaynon a dialect of the Bisaya.
When?
Easy to claim but there is no available online proof. It is a traditional folk song. If it's true then have it patented to honor the composer.
Arranged by Ily Matthew Mañiano of the Philippine Madrigal Singers
