What’s your guys favorite unarmed weapon? Do you go for style or statistics? Let me know c: Edit: also yes I understand that the pushy should probably have been called a displacer glove variant rather than a ballistic fist variant, I viewed them as the ballistic fist and its ammo unarmed versions IM SORRY. To repent I will give blamco to the homeless in freeside
pushy to be specific is an electrical glove, the unique variant of the displacer glove, the other type of electrical glove is the zap glove, and paladin toaster, the reason the zap glove is noteable is due to how it does +20 base damage to power armor and robots similar to a pulse grenade or a proton axe.
love and hate is the best in my opinion, is just so fast. And with the perks that affect atack speed + rushing water + slasher + psycho + weapon binding ritual + turbo you can be the fist of the north star lmao. It just works..
Love and Hate is my unarmed weapon of choice. Punching any living creature in the Mojave with unique spiked knuckles makes me appreciate how absolutely busted an Unarmed build can be. Perks like Super Slam, Piercing Strike, Paralizing Palm and Slayer make this weapon an absolute menace.
Yeah true. Max crit can give you like a 90% chance to do a minor stun because of the frenzy animation allowing for additional hits with other weapons right?
18:52 If you hit Rawr with a flare gun (or any other fire weapon), he'll run underneath a nuclear warhead in the ceiling that you can detonate to kill him immediately
Love and Hate is my prefered unarmed weapon in the base game. Those who go out of their way to obtain this weapon right after leaving Goodsprings should be feared because the raiders near Bonnie Springs have high tier weapons that can shred you to pieces. Even I don't dare going that far north of Goodsprings unless I go get Chance's Knife by going through the mountains to the west.
"just lucky I'm alive" and "aint like that now" are both level 50 perks so normally you can only get one of them during a playthrough but you can use an exploit to get one of them before leaving goodsprings and when you leave you'll keep the perk but be reset to your earlier level meaning you can then level up to level 50 normally and choose another level 50 perk while still having the old one
I started a survival playthough as a tribal shaman, with Embrace of the Mantis King being my main weapon. I really enjoyed the high crit and range, and it grew to become one of my favorites. Other then that, I love the pyromaniac perk + the super-heated Saturnite fist combo, since Gehenna and the Heavy incinerator are also my favorite weapons to use. :)
i remember being a little kid and me and my friend had a hard time getting very far in new vegas, and we'd kinda just wander around a lot. he told me about the spiked knuckles in a safe in primm and how you could shred with them. compared to what i know now those aren't a big deal obviously, but back then those spiked knuckles were huge, so i appreciate the shout out to love and hate. we were the new vegas equivalent of prim-locked and even the non-unique variant was killer.
You can completely trivialize the Rawr fight by shooting Rawr with a flare, causing it to take shelter under an undetonated warhead. You can then detonate it and crush Rawr under the rubble, allowing you to take your prize.
Dude this is some hell of a coincidence but I've been doing my first unarmed playthrough but every time I get done with a playthrough someone puts out a unarmed video and I was just about to search for the best unarmed weapon and this was the first thing on my recommendations as soon as I open the app. Or I'm just baked
This video makes me want to do another Unarmed build due to the sheer fact of how cool Unarmed is, also the fact that the industrial hand's armor piercing doesn't work and it's still OP is bonkers. great vid!
A few things to add about the Two-Step Goodbye. 1. The crit dmg is 10. So you will do 80 dmg outside of a crit kill. This is really bad crit dmg, but it procs a lot because of the x4 crit multiplier, making it do the same base dmg as the standard ballistic fist a lot of the time. 70+10= 80 plus the 175 on kill for the two-step, 80+80=160 for the ballistic fist. The crit kill explosion dmg does more dmg than a crit from the ballistic fist without better criticals. 2. While the perks hit the deck, demolition expert, and splash dmg do nothing for the explosion effect, there are perks that can greatly reduce the risk and add value. Super slam knocks enemies away from you, life giver adds 30 hp, adamantium skeleton reduces limb dmg by 50%, getting the challenge perk tough guy reduces limb dmg by another 20%, and both the brainless and spineless perks from old world blues makes it so your head and torso can't be crippled at all. Of course getting toughness to increase your DT will also help a lot as well. Implant GRX is broken on every build, including this one. Getting it twice lets you avoid all dmg most of the time altogether. Doing all this greatly reduces the dmg to yourself while giving you an unarmed weapon that is good at crowd control, the only weakness of an unarmed build. 3. It is an improved holdout weapon. With 50 sneak you can take it into casinos where it can wreak havoc unopposed. It can also be snuck into the fort and the interrogation room in mccarran as well.
I honestly think FoR is on par with industrial hand, if not better, for one simple reason; perk synergy. The industrial hand barely synergies with any of the unarmed perks. It’s an automatic weapon, so it can’t proc super slam. It’s meant to have DT pierce and has low DPH, so it doesn’t work well with piercing strike. The attack rate isn’t boosted by slayer at all, (or any other attack speed boost) and unstoppable force is already kind of a mid perk, but it doesn’t help the weapon at all. Not to mention its short range and sheer reliance on a crit build to reach its potential.
I strongly recommend the 2024 mod New Vegas Animation Overhaul - Melee by Rockbiter for your melee experience. It is a fully vanilla friendly style reanimation pack for EVERYTHING across the entire game, and the output of many years of animation learning and experience. Vanilla timings, style, et cetera, and applies to everything down to the last unique or DLC weapon. It makes melee look far less jank and far more satisfying, without actually altering game balance. The screen shake is subtle and tasteful, no crazy movements or clashing stylization like some mods. I think it even reanimates the special melee moves like the ranger takedown so there's nothing out of place. New Vegas Animation Overhaul - Guns by Hitman and Rockbiter is the ranged equivalent. Combined with Rockbiter's mines and grenades pack, nearly every single weapon across the entire game is completely reanimated in a vanilla faithful style. It has a tremendous positive effect on the feel of the game, and is super lightweight and clean for installation/uninstallation due to using kNVSE instead of replacing vanilla assets. Zero performance hit.
This is a fantastic video!!! Unarmed is also my favorite combat style in the Fallout games and I appreciate the rep you’ve given us with this! You have a new subscriber :3
Pushy is a unique displacer glove Embrace of the mantis king is better than a ballistic fist with a critical build, and nearly as good as the fist of rawr And the in geck I believe it says all automatic weapons such as the ripper, chainsaw, and thermic lance, attack 10 times per second. This is easily checked by the weapon binding ritual increasing all melee attacks by a flat +5 damage equating to +50 dps with those weapons.
It depends on if you look at the displacer glove as a variant of the ballistic fist, the wiki lists it as such (or at the very least views it as categorically the same as ballistic fists) although there’s definitely an argument to say otherwise lol. I just ended up rendering it as a ballistic fist for this video and because that’s just been my general belief.
@@ClLuna Pushy's literal editor id in the code of the game is "DisplacerGloveUnique" I don't think all displacer gloves count as ballistic fists in the lore. I think they're just in the same category for ease of coding Zap glove's also aren't displacer gloves, they're all their own things.
While Automatic Weapons do technically have a Number on the GECK for their attacks it's far from accurate. Many people have already tested that piece of shit and have come up with very wild results. I've personally tested it by setting its crit chance to 100% recording while attacking, then counting how many critical hit pop ups were there after exactly 10 seconds of attacking. On 1 pc i got 11 per second, on the other i got 14 per second lmao.
@@aldmjr I believe that the wiki lists them as variants because they were *intended* to be variants of each other, they were both supposed to use ammo but that couldn’t be implemented in the game, they were the only two unarmed weapons that were supposed to do that! It may have been more accurate to say they are under the same category but I just went with variants to save time and not having to explain it.
Personally my favorite would have to be Greased Lightning, for its sleek black look with it's Nuke logo, and probably the Fist of Rawr since using a Deathclaw hand for a weapon is absolutely wicked sick
She's Embrace is a good one. Negates DT and has crazy crit chance. In testing I did from a few years back it kills Deathclaws quicker than a Ballistic Fist
First video I've watched of yours and definitely won't be the last! If the brotherhood is wiped out Greased Lightning is added to the Gun Runners same with Mick and Ralph items I believe.
I like the Two Step Goodbye just for how silly it is, plus if you use the Khan Trick attack it can actually apply the explosion effect, so you get explosive pocket sand
I love how ballistic fist gets integrated into the power armor texture. Also the concept just seems very cool to me. I agree some other options could be better but its a single player game and BF is "good enough" enough to clear all content on Very Hard anyway so that's my fav unarmed weapon in NV
you just going to ham on the legion with greased lightning is honestly just so fucking funny for no reason. imagine this from one of the grunts' view. mailman comes in just absolutely throwing hand (singular) decimating all of your troops with the fastest hand in the west
my favourite unarmed weapon has got to be Mobius Glove idk why I just love the old world blues dlc so much and the fact that you can get Dr.Mobius’s the big bad of the dlcs personal glove just makes it more rewarding to get no matter how many times I replay NV
my new vegas character is a cannibal, and i think watching a girl use a deathclaw-claw as a weapon and then eat that person..would be an amazingly horrifying sight :3
Your comments about playthrough pathing in this series has made me curious what's the most efficent route you found. Would make for a great vid after this series is over.
Love your videos. I can’t tell you how incredible it would be if you covered similar categories for TTW. There are so many adjustments and tweaks in that mod and the wiki is somewhat light. I imagine most category winners wouldn’t change from New Vegas but I don’t know.
Pushy I re-remembered after searching for dungeons in FNV for an argument with someone talking about "no dungeons in FNV" and man, Pushy is a BEAST, my character with just Str 7 and poor 34 unarmed skill(and no melee or unarmed perks) was wiping the floor with enemies. Unironically this might be mid to late game version of chance's knife, in a sense that you should take it if you need a weapon to fall back onto to take out trash mobs 😅
The last playthrough I did of New Vegas was a survival mode unarmored (clothing only) boxing tape only run. With enough chems anything is possible, but man were there rough spots. Some of the challenging bits in Lonesome Road were not worth attempting. Biggest flaw with them is that they don't get modified by the Slayer perk nor any other attack speed increase effect for some reason. They are sloooow. I didn't see any mods that fixed that either. Every now and then I would equip a normal fist weapon and be amazed at how good everything else was comparatively.
Who's here remember the old thumbnail image? Which do you think was better previous one with Vault Boy literally being unarmed and only having bare hands or this new one with saturnite fist super heated?
12:28 another thing to add is rushing water. get your survival to like 60, make some with water and turbo and it makes you attack even faster. take a turbo and some slasher and now your star platinum lol
I know recompense of the fallen isn’t good, but there is just something about beating legionaries to death with ncr dog tags that my ranger character just can’t get over
Ballistic fist actually does more damage than the super heated fist if you have heavy handed. Ballistic fist does 96 damage with heavy handed, and super heated fist does 94 with heavy handed and pyromaniac
sHOT IN THE DARK BUT WHAT IF INDUSTRIAL HAND ATTACK RATE IS TIED OR IMPACTED BY FRAME RATE - that seems to happen a lot in stuff with these games and especially it being an older one. Maybe this is why its so contended as to what its values (namely attacks per second) actually are. This would be really cool to test!
Greased Lightning, Rushing Water, Turbo. Getting perks like Slayer and any other attack speed boosts.....This and the war club fully modded are some STUPID fast attackers, to the point where I had to use two fingers to tap fast enough to get maximum dps. It's hilarious to flip a group of Deathclaws into ragdolls in an invisible ambush with these builds.
Am I the only one interested in this guy's build? He talks about how he would build his character but I wanna know what his ideal perks, factions, weapons, etc. are Edit: Oh and the TTW Modlist
I disliked to use the Industrial Hand because of roleplay. Can't imagine my character porting something like that and it's too noise. But Love and Hate is a perfect roleplay item (unless you are playing the mad scientist, the nerd warrior or something like that... for a vault 101 grown that already beat the shit out of the Enclave and is living the simple courier live in New Vegas, the pair of brass knuckles seems to fit better... and it's already powerful enough for you to bend anything to your will or cease it's existence. And the quick two hands punching is very satisfactory. Cheers!
tbh, Pushy is the best unarmed weapon imo, cuz in a Unarmed Build you'll mostly be picking unarmed perks, which will increase your attack speed, and since Pushy is already fast... you'll basically become Star Platinum from JoJo's Bizarre Adventures
I still stick with Love and hate purely for its monstrously high attack speed, paired with the slayer perk gives it blinding speed, it has one of the lowest vats AP costs and really high dps too. because of its high attack speed it cripples so easily too
AP cost is mostly meaningless on unarmed weapons because the uppercut and cross attacks, unlocked at 50 and 75 unarmed, have a flat AP cost of 20 regardless of weapon
Industrial Hand is fine, very late game weapon that can't proc Super Slam, doesn't benefit from Rushing Water, Slayer and Melee Hacker, can't use Unarmed Moves outside of VATS and can Barely use the ones in VATS. In a lab environment and with bug fixing Mods it is technically the strongest weapon in the game, during actual gameplay Perma Stunlocks with the Fist of Rawr or Mobius Glove aswell as guaranteed Stuns from Ranger Takedown AND Immediate Damage upon knockdown from every other Unarmed thing is just better. Especially in the hardest encounters like the Courier's Mile etc, unless you're using Chems but at that point you can just use your fists. Mobius Glove is probably stronger IMO, Super Strong CC with 92.5% and another 15% chance of happening only limited by having to survive into Close Range. Fist of Rawr is IMO the best Overall, even better than the Industrial Hand. Mobius Glove is excellent utility when paired with it, and Ballistic Fist excels at VATS One-Shots from Stealth so it has a spot. Especially when we consider Non-Crit Damage Oriented Perks like Eye For Eye. Great Video as Always.
I mean, unarmed has 4 techniques, so there is something to unatmed. Now Melee on the other hand is robbed in FNV, nothing unique to em 😢. Although come to think about it, we don't have that many roleplaying games that aren't turn based that have good melee combat. Only example I remember is Kingdom Come Deliverance
i used to play a 1-int 1-agi handyman character using holorifle and industrial hand as their main weapons she has small frame and wild wasteland. jury rigging, rad resistance and absorption is a lore pick for her that idiot savant goblin is still out there in the wastes repairing power armor and robots with nothing but duct tape, wh40k ork magic and enough mutfruit to fill hoover dam twice over

I love unarmed!
I recommend using rushing water
two step goodbye cuz it's funny when the enemies explode
2step was always my favorite
Pushy is the unique displacer glove, not a variant of the ballistic fist !
Maybe the best unarmed weapon is the friends we made along the way
i think for the industrial hand and its damage ticks, it's gonna depend largely on the hardware you are playing on. Tick rate, frame rate, etc.
My favorite unarmed weapon is the Pimp Boy 3 Billion
Greased Lightning, Rushing Water, Turbo. Getting perks like Slayer and any other attack speed boosts.....This and the war club fully modded are some STUPID fast attackers, to the point where I had to use two fingers to tap fast enough to get maximum dps. It's hilarious to flip a group of Deathclaws into ragdolls in an invisible ambush with these builds.
Am I the only one interested in this guy's build? He talks about how he would build his character but I wanna know what his ideal perks, factions, weapons, etc. are
Edit: Oh and the TTW Modlist
I disliked to use the Industrial Hand because of roleplay. Can't imagine my character porting something like that and it's too noise. But Love and Hate is a perfect roleplay item (unless you are playing the mad scientist, the nerd warrior or something like that... for a vault 101 grown that already beat the shit out of the Enclave and is living the simple courier live in New Vegas, the pair of brass knuckles seems to fit better... and it's already powerful enough for you to bend anything to your will or cease it's existence. And the quick two hands punching is very satisfactory.
Cheers!
tbh, Pushy is the best unarmed weapon imo, cuz in a Unarmed Build you'll mostly be picking unarmed perks, which will increase your attack speed, and since Pushy is already fast... you'll basically become Star Platinum from JoJo's Bizarre Adventures
or... idk, you could do as in the video and use the Greased Lightning
fist of rawr next question
Never seen the Geckos swimming lol
I’m genuinely surprised that a single de Blob 2 song wasn’t used here
Nvm. I was dead wrong!
16:00 in geck the firerate for the industrial hand is at 5 by default
6:30 Does explosive damage reducing perks at least work to protect you from two step explosive?
12:20 You really want to put more speed on that? Drink some rushing water or whatever it’s called. Now it’s even faster.
I mean, unarmed has 4 techniques, so there is something to unatmed.
Now Melee on the other hand is robbed in FNV, nothing unique to em 😢.
Although come to think about it, we don't have that many roleplaying games that aren't turn based that have good melee combat.
Only example I remember is Kingdom Come Deliverance
also, isn’t pushy the unique displacer gauntlet? the two-step goodbye is the only ballistic fist variant.
Greased lightning is him
Pushy is my favourite base unarmed weapon Fist of Rawr if we include the dlc
The hunt for best clothing and armour next?
The best unarmed weapon is using just your bare hands with nothing else
i used to play a 1-int 1-agi handyman character using holorifle and industrial hand as their main weapons
she has small frame and wild wasteland.
jury rigging, rad resistance and absorption is a lore pick for her
that idiot savant goblin is still out there in the wastes repairing power armor and robots with nothing but duct tape, wh40k ork magic and enough mutfruit to fill hoover dam twice over
Who up fisting they north Rawr right now?
Pushy is a unique variants of the displacer glove, not the ballistic fist.
the perk super slam gives a ragdoll effect to all unarmed weapons, no?
damage increasers aply to crit damage as well. so superheated fists is every way better than ballistic fists
warclub with rushing water broken its almost a 100% knock down on first hit
You didnt talk about the superslam perk, how it turns the industrial hand into the true easy mode. also how you can cheese the rawr fight
Its the One Step Hello
Grease lightning in a nutshell: ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA
The geckos can swim!?!?
Pushy is a unique version of the displacer glove, not the ballistic fist
unarmed beasts
i (heart) fist of the north rawr
Btw paciencia deals more damage than anti materiel rifle
