Hi Jennifer, so lovely to meet you Saturday. Looking forward to seeing, your content and seeing you in the plods (I don't take part but enjoy watching it 😂) hope you got back hone OK.💜📚
Interesting! I've never really thought about reading We Need to Talk About Kevin, but I've seen a few people list it amongst their favourite Women's Prize books ever. Also this made me want to read Piranesi again!
I reread Piranesi last year and loved it. We Need To Talk About Kevin is very disturbing, not sure if I would ever reread it but I did think it was excellent.
I've read 6 of yours all great books. From those I think Fingersmith would make my list. Burial Rites and No one is talking about this narrowly might miss out on mine. Piranesi and Life after Life are high up on my backlist TBR. I really enjoy this sort of best of list content. Thanks for sharing.
This channel is truly splendid! I happened upon it recently and I must say, I am quite fond of the literature suggestions. I shall certainly be delving deeper! 😊

@@rebecca.readerinteresting list, a few of these I've had to look up because I hadn't heard of them. Just the one in common - Piranesi 💞 Thanks for sharing!
I was absolutely floored by We Need to Talk about Kevin. The morally grey unlikable characters and the tension of nature vs nuture was amazing. It has now been done by several books but as it was my first, I hold it high regard. Also love Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine. The Night Watch is the next Waters book I'm reading as I'm saving Affinity for last (hoping to love it as much as you do.) Are you planning to read all/most of the longlist when it comes out?
It really depends on what I can get hold of from the library and which ones I'm interested in. I'm unlikely to read the whole long list but it'd be nice to read the shortlist if I can get my hands on the books 😊
Love this!! And you will be pleased to hear that I disagree on a few of these. Elenor Oliphant and GWO were both meh for me 😂 and we already know my thoughts on Piranesi 😳 Hard agree on Detransition Baby though, I’m still a bit salty about it not winning.
@@jenniferlovesbooks I couldn’t join in on Booker as I’d not read enough for a Longlist of books I liked but I’m excited for this one although quite a few will be from the last two years! You’d definitely get a few right I think!
Such a great video!! Thank you. Fingersmith and Piranesi are two of my all time favourites, I was also SO pleased Piranesi won ❤️ Fingersmith is just so so so so good. If there is one book I could read again for the first time then that would be it. Such an amazing and clever novel. I loved Girl, Woman, Other, Sorrow and Bliss and I'm A Fan too. I also have Life after Life, but yet to read it! I'm now really excited. Thank you for so many great sounding recommendations, very keen to read more of these. I really didn't get on with No One Is Talking About This 🙈 I really enjoyed Small Island, Hamnet, The Hundred Secret Senses, Build Your House Around My Body and One Sky Day, from previous short/long lists or winners. Maybe I'll try to make my own list one day 📚🤓💕
I would love to hear what would make your list! I hope you enjoy Life After Life ❤️ I often think that if there was one book I could read for the first time again it would absolutely be Fingersmith! Have you seen The Handmaiden, a Korean film that is based on Fingersmith. It's excellent.
@@jenniferlovesbooks Oh thank you for sharing that about The Handmaiden. No, I haven't seen it. I really love Korean movies and TV series and think that the twists in Fingersmith perfectly capture how a lot of these shows are made. Very keen to see it, thanks again
There you go again, filling up my TBR! I have read a few of these. I have been wanting to read Detransition, Baby, but it is one of the possibilities for my marginalized authors book group so I'm waiting to see if we choose it.
Great idea for a video. The reverse timeline of Nightwatch was fantastic. I found the whole book very immersive.
The Night Watch is so good, such an effective way to tell the story!

It was great to meet you too, such a fab day 😁
You have so many books on that list that I love. Fingersmith is my favourite but really interesting to see how many books we have in common

I had a lot of fun putting this list together and it was difficult to narrow it down to just 16 😊

Haha, good to know we disagree on a few, it means all is right with the world 😂
I need to do a list like this! Love love love Life After Life if that’s not a spoiler! 😂 Now I’ve started with Sarah Waters I can’t wait to read more!
Please do your list, I would love seeing what makes it (I could probably guess a few!)

Haha, sorry about that! My tbr is always growing exponentially as well 😂
love this idea for a video! I did guess Fingersmith for your top choice, are you impressed? 🔮♥️
Haha, well done! 😁
