Appreciate the heads up about the live well battery , I just bought the exact same boat as you and they didn’t say anything about that …

Thanks for the info on the livewell being on the starter battery also. I’ll be getting another battery now.

@@fatbasstards wonder what size battery you'd need just for live well and electronics? or how much would and how often do you need to run the engine to keep starting battery charged?

@fatbasstards do you know if there's a way to work the wiring to run off the other battery?

@@fatbasstards How in the world did you fit another battery in the space I was looking at that yesterday. Truthfully, I am thinking about just using the livewell as my ice cooler instead. :-)

Nice video. Question: At 2:38 into the video you said the Live Well and starting run off the same battery. Then at the end (3:38) , you said the front battery is for your live well and fish finder, and the back battery is for cranking. Did you switch something around?

hey love the moving battery up front idea, Id hate to give up that storage but it is stupid hard to get the batteries in and out of back (new boat my trolling battery was DOA so had to exchange it out already and it was not fun) anyway one more question - any video or anything about wiring and instal for the batteries and new trolling motor???? thinking of that upgrade at some point what size new trolling motor and how'd you run the wires? easy ???? or probably not. howd you do it??? thanks!

If you’re new to electrical wiring I’d look at a video on putting 2 24v batteries in series before you do anything. Also had to drill a 3/4” hole from that storage to the from of the bow to hook the batteries up to the trolling motor. I hope this helps. Might put a video out later to show y’all how to do it, so if you’re not already subscribed to the channel please do so. Hope this helps!!! Tight lines

@@fatbasstards I finally did the terrova upgrade and fitting batteries in the back was very easy they actually fit better sideways i'd almost recommend changing that even if someone is leaving it stock turn the trolling battery sideways they drop straight down and are very easy to remove why tracker did it the way they did I have no idea the stock setup is terrible to remove batteries .... anyway, I was able to get two 27s (24v 80 lb terrova) in with no problem at all same wiring I did not even change out the breaker - 50a has not blown once, if it does I will instal the 60a.. really loving the terrrova makes fishing by myself so much easier. yes the edge is fine but you have to constantly stay on it to hold position

12 gallon INBOARD full tank vs 6 gallon red tank, then 170 also has inboard pole storage that can be locked and the front deck is bigger

All you got to do is start your engine every so often and it'll recharge the battery. Check your voltmeter on your console occasionally if it gets low just start your engine it'll charge that battery up

disagree - not everyone needs an expensive boat. I have one just like it, im new to fishing and this is my first boat, it is basic relatively inexpensive easy to tow, uses next to no fuel (just as few gallons a day), easy to launch store and operate and with a little customization it does the job. yes tracker is an entry level boat but for someone just starting if it gets you off the bank, outside instead of sitting on the couch its worth the money, so far I use it weakly and its been a great starter boat for me.

@@russellhoguephd7925 thanks man --- I dont worry to much about what others think of my boat- it met my needs, I have since traded the 170 for a 175 - slightly larger boat with a little more room, storage and speed -- I learned a lot from the tracker 170 and mean what I wrote two years ago, its a great little boat especially as a starter boat. this wasn't my video but the original poster did a great review that helped me and a lot of others -- not everyone needs an 50k+ boat... Yes, trackers are entry level basic boats but thats what a lot of people want --- theres a reason you see so many of them on the water and mine met my needs at the time - thanks again the 170 is a great little boat any anything that gets you out on the water is enough thanks again for the + thoughts

I have a 12 ft Tracker Jon boat and no, it won't hold a 50HP engine and has zero storage and no trolling motor or fish finder, so I'd say you're talking out your ass saying it's a 20K Jon Boat. Go buy a 100K Bass Cat ya putz!
