Really enjoyed the open house. Thanks for all the hard work that you and your team have put into the project. Really rooting for you to get it flying and then produced!

Good to see another update video. It seemed like forever, since the last one...even though I knew there would be no updates last week.

That tdi can put down 400 plus hp and over 650 foot pounds. I am hoping it can reliably do 350/600 with that kind of power we will easily see a 300 knot max speed and be able to cruise at 250 knots

Whew! The withdrawal symptoms created by not having a video update was tough! Welcome back! Peter, care to share your thoughts/plans on equipment cooling, especially on the ground? Also regarding the pulleys for the flight control cables, I humbly recommend putting cotter pins on the locking nuts.

Why mount a second g3x screen when already installing a GTN 750 and g5 for standby?

Guys please use respiratory gear, or wet sand CF. That stuff will tear you apart.

Any idea from Garmin on what type of deal we will be getting with buying everything in bulk?

Wouldn't it be more aprotpiate to put a backup instrument in a place where it can be viewed from BOTH seats? After all, when flying from the right, having the G5 all the way to the left wouln't be of any good, would it?

Did Garmin express any interest in coming out with a 14" version now that you have 1,000 reservations?

Probably goes without saying, but leave plenty of room between the avionics components for the cable harnesses and connectors, Also be mindful of where you might need to get a screwdriver in to remove components. One wouldn't want to have to remove 1/2 the avionics just to get at some bolt or component.

I saw in the ordering info that the AP was only pitch and roll and coincidentally it came up in this video. Dumb question: What happened to yaw? Apparantly you don't need it? The plane will yaw without yaw input?

I was just thinking about how a rudder is required to do coordinated turns (keeping the ball centered). I would think any AP-controlled turns would have to use the rudder.

I just have to laugh to myself regarding the level of work and skill you've laid into this using Solidworks. IMHO it goes to show how sloppy and lazy all of GA has gotten. If one man and a small team of folks can develop an aircraft (including the fluid dynamic testing) inside of Solidworks, then what the heck has Cessna and Beech been doing all these years other than telling everyone there's no other way to make an aircraft. Sure there's Cirrus - but they are oh-so-proud of their airplanes - and while they helped move the mark a bit they haven't been out there trying to push the envelop as hard as you and your team have been.
I simply can't wait for the plane to show up on the landing gear so we can book our trip to Atlanta to see this thing in person. Of course then there's the painful wait until we get the call to come work on the 51%... I'm #104 *phew*

The reason (or so they say...) is because they are certified versus the raptor which is experimental and you have to build it yourself... This is why the major companies are so far behind in technology and overpriced...
Again, I'm just repeating what I've been told so please correct this if it is incorrect lol.

I got a little bit into it with the Cessna/Beech dealer when I was looking at a demo A36 they had out one day. His whole angle of addressing this was "well, effectively you're buying a handmade aircraft" which was lame because I can go get a Ferrari or Lamborghini which are handmade for far less than an A36. The overall cost (IMHO) has more to do with lawyers and some of the inane rules around getting an aircraft certified. Yes the certification does add some overhead to the cost - but if Peter can pull this off for less than $200k (which is still well within being reasonable) then I think it shows that roughly a certified GA aircraft is 3x or more than an experimental and provides no innovation. Whereas the Raptor is providing a ton of innovation AND saving me money... If anything in aviation needs to be fixed - it's the threshold of entry into having such a sweet ride as this will be. :)
