    This video explains more than the company’s videos.
    I been trying to get this running for over a month. This showed me the mistakes I was making.
    Thanks so much.
    Now if I can finally get it working with StageLink on the Denon Prime4.

    Hey MoJoe, How are you? I hope you and your family are doing well. I was wondering if you would still choose the Akai over the new SounSwitch Control One and why? Thank you and have a great day.

    • @djmojoeofficial
      @djmojoeofficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Ronnie! I'm doing great! I would choose the SoundSwitch Control One over the Akai because everything is labeled on the ControlOne so you know what you're pressing, the out for the dongle is already built into the unit whereas the Akai needs a separate connection for one, the Control one. If you use the Akai, you have flexibility of what you want the buttons to do. You would just need to create a system or memorize which button does what though. Hope this helps!

    • @djmojoeofficial

      Yes you should be able to. The midi controller is there to make it easier for you because it has buttons that you can touch and press. Without a midi controller, you would just use your mouse and click on things within the software to activate and control your light show

      Hi! Reach out to SoundSwitch directly and send them an e-mail about your fixture. Take a picture of the DMX settings from the light fixture's manual, and e-mail that to SoundSwitch, then they'll get back to you with the fixture added to the software.

    do you have a video on how to hook up a fog machine to sound switch?

    • @djmojoeofficial
      @djmojoeofficial  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Dave, no I don't. But I figured the process is still the same. You would need to make sure the fog machine has DMX capabilities. Find the fog machine in SoundSwitch. If it's not listed, send SoundSwitch the DMX setup (take a picture of the manual) and they'll add the fog machine to their list in SoundSwitch. Assign a button on your MIDI controller.

    Great video!!! Question? I see that you had the same light fixtures on the same dmx channel. Is it better to do it that way or same lights fixture with different dmx channels?

    • @djmojoeofficial
      @djmojoeofficial  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      djcheo Thanks for watching! That’s up to you. For simplicity, I keep the same light fixtures on the same channel so they all do the same thing. If you want each lighting fixture to do its own thing, then use different DMX channels on them. If you do it this way, they will still follow the master script (so they’ll do the same thing) BUT now you’ll also have the capability to have them act differently independently because they’re at different DMX addresses. This allows more creativity for pulses, different movements, chases, whichever. I may actually change my lights to have separate DMX addresses for more individual light control. Also, depends on how many lights you’re using and how much space your taking in the DMX universe because there’s 512 channels. If you’re using a lot of fixtures and running low in DMX space, then you can assign multiple of the same fixtures to the same address to save space. Hope all of this makes sense. Let me know how else I can help!

    thank you for your video. Can you pls let me know up to how many fixtures does soundswitch support?

    • @djmojoeofficial
      @djmojoeofficial  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good question! SoundSwitch can support up to 2 DMX universe, each having 512 channels. So it really depends on how many channels your lighting fixtures take up. If you have multiple of the same fixtures, you can assign them to a single address to save up space, but you're not able to control each individual light. If each fixture is assigned to their own channel in the DMX universe, you can control each light. Short answer, depends how many fixtures you want to have as your light setup, how many channels do they take up, and how you DMX address them.

      Hi Lance! I can't compare it much to the ADJ since I haven't used the ADJ product. Like the other DMX softwares out there, it does take an initial setup, but once you learn it, it's easy.
