Kent, you have brought a tear to this old set of eyes. This is a desert that my late mother knew was my favorite throughout my childhood. And virtually every time, after I grew up and while she could, if she knew I was on the way to my parents place, she would make it for me, awaiting my arrival with my wife and kids. Thanks for this recipe, but she passed her recipe to me WAY before she passed. It is close to yours in "almost" all particulars, particularly the requirement for the "Nilla" vanilla wafers. And I will stay true to hers, but yours is definitely a close second, in my mind. HEY! It's my mom's recipe! Thanks for happy tears.
My mother passed many, many ,many years ago but I still remember her nanner pudding!!! I know exactly how you feel sir!!! Many thanks to the Cowboy Kent!! Some tears are a welcome treasure!!
Me too. My mom passed in 2021 and (using her recipe), when I make it, it always makes me think of mom. Theres absolutely nothing better than nanner pudding, cold from the fridge, on a hot Texas night. God Bless Everyone.
And I know she made the Marangue from scratch too!

Those tears show we are still human beings....and I thank the good Lord for that, and i feel better knowing there are still others who can and do see the beauty in the bitter sweet, and the blessing through the tears. Peace to you
Mate thanks for sharing a delightful memory.
My Dad us from East Texas and his Mom always put Meringue on top, much better with whipped cream to me👍
My grandmother made this too, and oddly I woke up this morning thinking about it. And now here it's today's video. It is a sign. I'm making it this weekend.
Never thought I’d be watching Kent dancing to Synthwave lol, but my eclectic musical tastes aside I wanted to say thanks y’all. I’m 23 now, it’s been 13 years since my paternal grandmother passed and only 4 since my grandfather passed but y’all’s food always reminds me of them. Probably because we’re Okies through and through same as you. But this takes me back to Sunday’s and holidays when I was just 6-7. Everybody laughing and loving on each other, eating the best food cooked on earth, and celebrating the Lords love for us.
We don’t get to do much of that anymore, and a few of my aunts and uncles always want to fight us over money that doesn’t exist. But these bring me back to a simpler time, when there wasn’t anything to fight over, aside from who ate the last piece of pie.
He is a man of great taste and great cooking
My dad always asked for ham hocks and Lima beans for his birthday dinner- and banana pudding instead of cake. He passed in 2002 but I still make his birthday favorites every January 10th- Happy Birthday Dad!
YESSSSS! NOTHING takes me back to my grammas kitchen like this. Thanks for the memories! Nothing but simple joy.
Mr. Kent, You have taken my back 70 years to a farm in S. E. Kansas when my granny would make nanner pudding, cooling it with ice chips from the ice box. Thanks for the memories. Keep up the good work.
We thank you Leon for watching
I bet she didn't use instant pudding from a box.
Gracias Señor Kent always making some good stuff, your #1 Fan tuning in from México🤠
😋 So many memories of Nanna Pudding at the church suppers! THANKS Ken Rollins!
This take me back 40 years when i was a young Marine stationed in South Carolina in the late 70's. Not only did i have to learn/translate the southern drawl but had to eat like a southerner too. Grits was new to me and so was bbq, sweet tea and 'naner puddin'........never had that before and it was good back then. i've seen you add a shot or 2 of whiskey in some things you make. you ever try soaking or dizzling the bananas in rum? mighty good stuff! as always thanks for what you do and as a veteran i appreciate you and your beautiful wife very much.
God bless you both and the pups too!!
Glad I clicked on to this one!! Finally someone called it what it is!! Nanner puddin!! I learned something too! Mixer beater in a portable drill! Thanks Buddy, have a great week!
Oh Yummm!
I would have to use a spatula & not miss one drop.. THANKS for sharing.
Mighty kind you shared with your pups.
Yes please and thank you!!! I smashed that like button and shared this with my friends / family!!! bless u guys over there
As always I am so happy to see you and the doggies. Instant pudding would allow you to make this dish in areas that would not be possible otherwise. The 70’s were all about instant pudding, cool whip and canned fruit, women would get little recipes when they watched their stories everyday. But I’ve come a long way and I would rather make pastry cream than take a short cut. There’s a after taste to that boxed stuff. Best wishes to you,
Jen
I'm a new subscriber, my wife and I here in Surprise Arizona just west of Phoenix. I have always loved the outdoors and God, Family and country are the three most important things in my life. Your patriotism and love for this wonderful land of ours and the lord above and your love of our soldiers warms my heart. I have family from Ropesville Texas. Love the channel and the food. Best recipes I have ever tried. God bless and thank you.
Granny, made that for me years ago. Thanks for reminding me of time in the past !!!!!!
I am another one who had a tear in my eyes remembering back when my grandmama made banana puddin'. She was the best cook. My sister-in-law is pretty close but my grandmama could cook like it was going out of style. She made the best banana pudding, blackberry cobbler and apple pie. All from scratch. Thank you.
They were some of the best cooks ever
You mean naner pudding?
What a prefect idea for a hot day. We used to make root beer on days like that a special memory for me. Especially when the root beer got a bite to it after a week or so. My tea drinking family never got it figured out why I guess, lol. Thank you, take care and God bless.
Thanks EJ and God bless you
Me and my family. Love you cowboy Kent Rollins. I have been watching you for years. I wish I had an uncle like you.

Good afternoon Kent, thank you my friend for stirring up some memories from long ago.
My mother-in-law and my Momma both used to make Nanner Puddin on a frequent basis. Usually for enjoying after a Sunday Supper. Mmmmm, Mmmmm good.
Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk. Momma used to keep several cans stored in the Pantry.
Homemade Whipped Cream was all Momma ever used. She would add a dash of vanilla to the mix.
Take care my friend and keep cool.
Stan in North Idaho

Your cookin ain't bad neither!
I've got an old depression era recipe for lemon pie. So so simple, eagle brand sweetened condensed milk and lemon juice. Mix it up really well adjust amount of lemon juice to taste and pour into a pre baked pie crust and set in the fridge for a few hours and man oh man is it good. My great aunt who grew up in the depression in ropesville Texas had this recipe.
This is the same recipe that my Grandmother passed down to all of us. My Mother made this 'nana puddin' for every church pot luck dinner we had. There was never ever any left to bring home. Have a blessed day.
Thanks Carolyn so much and God bless you

I lost my Dad when I was in my early teens and had but a short time with him as he and my Mom were separated. He was a Texan snd Nanner pudding was his favorite. Every time I make it I think of his basic ingredients of Vanilla pudding, wafers and bananas and how he would probably be floored the fancy way I make it now similar to yours Kent. Thanks for sharing!
My parents loved 'nanner pudding. I wish they were still around to watch your videos. They would love them.
I grew up on nanner puddin ( yep thats what we call it here in Appalachia ). My mom would make a bowl of it for just about every Sunday dinner.
It was the most common desert at family dinners , get togethers and reunions. Its still the desert I go for at such occasions if there is any present.
A great classic it is
Familys from AR and Nanner Puddin' is one of my favorite desserts. Glad to see you passing this along to the others, much love Cowboy.
We thank you for taking time to watch
I tried this recipe after my bake recipe failed ... I thank God for unanswered prayers. This was a hit! Thanks.
God Bless you Kent and your family! Bless them.
I'm soooooo excited to make this "Nanner" puddin'!!!!!
Thank you for giving me a smile and a laugh. I haven't laughed in awhile but your banana tree did it . I'll be trying this. I'm with you. We had naner pudding without the wafers though
It is some good eating
I do not know how my grandfather came up with his recipe. I wish I had thought to ask before he passed some 35 years ago. But it is completely different from any that I've ever seen.
He would layer the vanilla wafers and bananas into the pan, all the way to the top. Then he'd pour over the top some evaporated milk until it was about half way up the pan. It then went in the refrigerator to be served the next day.
By then that milk would have soaked all the way to the top of the wafers, the bottom wafers would be mush. It was very very sweet. You couldn't eat much.
Now the pan he used most often was the pan just below the freezer compartment on the refrigerator. The one that would get things really cold but not freeze. It took several boxes of wafers, a whole tree of bananas and lots of evaporated milk but everyone at the reunion was sure to get their fill of naner pudding. It doesn't get any easier and no one ever complained that there was no pudding in his banana pudding
Thanks Kent for your videos! Love them all!
Kent is a national treasure. Thank you for all of the great videos, this one especially!
I was never a big fan of banana pudding (but I probably only had canned crap)....I decided to give this recipe a try and HOLY COW! I am a believer now... It was fun to make and delicious
Made this pudding last week and it's wonderful. Well done. You know Kent, I hunt whitetail every year in Waurika OK, not far from your neck of the woods, beautiful country!
I have company coming from out of town this weekend and I was trying to think of a dessert to make and like usual you have delivered the perfect recipe. I will be making this. Thank you so much.
Hope everyone enjoys
My Mamaw who lived in the tiny town of Norphlet Arkansas made some of the best nanner pudding, whenever we made a trip up there, she always had a big bowl of it waiting for us.
I'm so glad I found you Mr Kent and Shannon! I have a (larger than normal - at least in my area) family of 7 (5 kids ages 9 all the way down to 2) that I need to feed, so your meals that feed a crowd are right up my alley, and the huge variety AND desserts, means we won't be eating the same things on repeat. You are doing such a great thing for mommas like me everywhere!! (And my 2 year old son loves learning new words while watching your videos, like "eat" and "doggie" - that last one said with a huge smile on his little baby face).
I'll definitely be ordering your cookbooks as soon as I'm able!!
I love all the pups!
