    • @EmerDiego
      @EmerDiego  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It has to be a water soluble lubricant. Because if the ng tube accidentally inserted in to the lungs, the lubricant can dissolve easily .

    Aspirate and check for proper placement first followed by secure the plaster on the nose. Get a colleague to counter check the placement and check the ph paper as well.
    Thanks.
    Great video

    • @jamaiimarie
      @jamaiimarie ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Anthony! That is fine if you’re in the actual scenario/ward. However, in the OSCE marking criteria, you must apply plaster on the nose first, check for PH, and then secure plaster to the cheek.
      You only have 12 minutes for this station.
      Hope this helps. Good luck with your OSCE 🙏🏻
      The nurses have to verbalise that they need to check the PH before every feeding.

    • @EmerDiego
      @EmerDiego  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hey, according to the marking criteria- assist the patient to sit in a semi-upright position in chair/bed.
      The new marking criteria also states that - if candidate does not add 5-10 cm this is not a fail. Hope that’s helpful 😉

    Do we need lignocane gel before insertion to get anaesthetic effect of the nostrils. Don't we?
    Is it ok only with ph paper method. Because it is more important to demonstrate other two methods as well. So stethoscope is also needed for preparing equipments.
