Sorry about the rejections, I guess not many people major in Geography. Congrats on Richmond, it's hard to get into Ivy League schools. That's why I didn't apply to Columbia for a graduate degree, but I did get into NYU for a graduate degree in 1983. My Dad had his BS and MA from Columbia.

Congratulations! Can I ask why you applied to 24 colleges, like what is the reason to apply to so many? Also wanted to know how much you typically spend on fees applying to a college?
A lot of people apply to a college like Harvard because they see that it's ranked well or people say it's the best, but I made sure to find personal reasons for every single one. This includes majors, campus feel, surrounding area, facility & dorm quality, etc. I enjoyed most of the unis I toured, and there are just so many to choose from that it's hard to narrow them down. Ultimately, I applied to 24 because I had enough time and resources. Moreover, there are such low chances of me getting into any, so if I want options to choose from, I would need to apply to a lot

Usually the fees were about $70-80 per college but my parents were gracious in covering the cost and you can apply for waivers.

No money was involved in any decision. It came down to specific opportunities for my major, proximity to home, and campus feel.
