Delayed or Laggy Response on Comcast/Xfinity Cable TV Remote? Finally Fixed!

- I show you how to fix a Comcast / Xfinity cable tv remote that is having a delayed or laggy response. In other words if you click something it should not take more then 2 seconds. Some of you may have a delay as long as 10 seconds on each click. Anyway try this eay method first. This should work for at least 50% of you.

OK, I tried this, thinking I was nuts, but I'll be damned, it worked! We have just gotten a new box as the old on was on the fritz and the new remote was incredibly laggy. It was driving my wife crazy and I was about to exchange it once again but gave this a shot and now we're good to go. Thanks a million!

It's still half a second delay but I cant complain because it was a 10 second delay thanks it works really well

The absolute worst remote design I have ever used (one on right). The buttons I use most are the arrows and they are practically recessed and non-backlit - absolute garbage!

Hi. Have another issue . . . wondering if you can help? I have an Xfinity XR2 remote, paired to set-top box. Seems channel selection (up / down) button works just fine, from anywhere in room. However, Volume up & down, Mute and Power button will only work in close proximity, like 6 feet or less. When clicking on the latter mentioned buttons, the "All Power" button / indicator light emits red color. Remote and batteries are brand new. Purchased to replace prior unit which I thought may have gone bad. Apparently not. Same problem Any solutions? Thanks.
I have 3 remotes that work properly, and my issue is clearly not with the remotes. All three lagged for varying periods of time, for too long, and for several hours two nights ago. Then the issue gradually cleared itself over 10-20 minutes or so, where thereafter, all three remotes worked normally. I suspect that Xfinity has a bandwidth issue with high speed Internet and steals from the Cable TV bandwidth to prevent Internet slowdowns. When I press the remote buttons I am almost positive it communicates with an Xfinity server to accommodate each or most inputs. For the past few months I get dropouts like black screens, frozen screens for short periods, and pixellation, when using Xfinity cable TV and when streaming Amazon Prime. Occasionally, this has happened for an hour or two, and at other times they are shorter and quite intermittent.

This doesn’t help my TV didn’t come with the remote so I use my phone to be honest. I think Im going to switch back to Roku. The TV sucks lol but thank you for helping other people. I’m sure they really appreciate it!

Hmm, my issue is just with the TV volume. The response is super sluggish. Has happened before, but I can't remember how I fixed it.

Same. I was rolling my eyes but then when the batteries went in and it worked I was like, “Fuck 2020.”
I assume it’s because Comcast used shit hardware in the box. Like 50mb of RAM bad.
Simply UNPLUG your BOX, wait a few minutes and then plug it back in. BOOM! Remote works again just fine. Pushing on buttons with no batteries in the remote (and holding down the power button) is not going to do a thing!!
