    I've had this remote for a year and have hated it since the day I brought it home. In 16 minutes you made sense of it. Nicely done!

    Page up/down buttons. Pause/rewind live tv. A.B.C.D buttons. Exit button. This video is invaluable. I give it five (out of 5) stars.

    It's strange how there aren't any videos on #TH-cam on how to use the XR15 remote besides yours! Thank you! Very much needed as I just got X1 with the XR15 voice command remote today after 12 years with old non HD cable boxes.

      Thanks for watching. Comcast refuses to acknowledge that they're not infallible . They've designed a terrible piece of equipment. If they were to create a tutorial, that would be acknowledging their horrible design. I'm glad I was able to help in a way that one of the largest corporations in the world refuses.

    Nice video. Only negative is that you didn't have your full TV screen viewable, but it didn't hurt the video that much. Thank you, this was very helpful for people who don't like to spend time trying to research or read about all of these functions.

    I took in two old basic boxes that were nearly the size of a VHS beast because it's been years and you never think about it. Got two basic (new,faster user interface, smaller boxes) and new box for another room with this remote. NO charge to walk in with your gear and ask for all new ;) What have I been missing with this new remote! Jesus, the old ones were those huge, long silver burritos. Thanks for the vid!

    I agree with *Paula Mentusky! This was really quite helpful and you actually, very clearly I might add, explained something I had a problem finding out which was 'Where the heck is the 'info' button?'. The reason being, for example on your video @6:30, on your tv screen there is a program shown called "The Ugly Truth" and right beside it, there appears to be an arrow-circle. I assumed when I'd see that on my own television that I could rewind that show BUT, I couldn't figure out HOW?! I researched the internet and it told me to "press info on the remote to invoke the mini info..." I was stuck at where to locate this button on my remote! (and now that you've pointed it out, I actually feel rather lame for not knowing the 'i', of course, would mean 'information' so yeah, there's that. Smh). I quickly grabbed my remote, went to OUR SHARED FAV BUTTON ON THE REMOTE, the 'Guide' button, and found a show that had the little blue rewind circle arrow by it to see if I now actually COULD rewind that show and WHA LA! I could! So again 22Tony, thanks for sharing this video and helping me understand my xfinity remote when XFINITY could not!👍🏽

    Hi,
    When you are using the Xfinity remote to adjust the volume, is this controlling the TV volume, or the CABLE BOX volume?
    I have read that the genius engineers at Comcast have taken away the FIXED audio output option on their newer cable boxes. Having only a VARIABLE audio output option makes these newer Comcast Xfinity setups incompatible with MANY home theater & soundbar/soundbase configurations.
    A second question would be (that you may not have an answer), is the Xfinity XR11 remote compatible with these newer Comcast cable boxes?
    Thanks much,
    Joe

    • @22tony10
      @22tony10  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, I don't have an answer. Comcast closed my office and laid me off over a year ago, so I no longer have info on what they're doing. Several obvious changes have occurred in the past year or so, and probably quite a few I'm not aware of.
      Call 1-800-COMCAST. My experience is if you ask them direct questions, most reps will give you the real answer. They just won't volunteer any info. As long as you ask very specific questions you should get the answer.

      @@22tony10
      Very sorry to hear that, Tony.
      But thank you for the info. i may call them.
      My aunt in DC, just had to have her Comcast box upgraded. She called me to tell me that she could barely hear her TV, now. She told me that she had the volume at 100, and I could barely hear anything over the phone. She has to sit right by her 65-inch Sony to hear anything, now.
      I told her that this is IMPOSSIBLE, and that she must be doing something wrong. So, I checked the Comcast support website, and there have been NUMEROUS complaints about this very same issue, FOR OVER FIVE MONTHS. There are NO answers to this on Comcast's website, not even from customers.
      My wife runs the customer service support website for a Fortune 500 company, and she said that NONE OF THESE CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE PAYING THEIR COMCAST BILLS. Many of these customers have been in contact with Comcast for weeks, and MONTHS, and the issue is still unresolved.
      My aunt is very ill right now (hopefully not Delta), so she can't call Comcast, yet, as her voice is very strained. Being elderly, I'm glad she's gotten both doses of a vaccine.
      I am quite confused, though, that NUMEROUS customers (including my aunt) have allowed the Comcast technicians to leave their homes before testing their cable TV.
      The fact that Comcast has allowed this problem to persist for over five months, is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. If my wife were perpetuating a problem at her job, she said that she'd be GONE in days/hours, not weeks, and certainly NOT M_O_N_T_H_S. Makes me think that this is a bigger, engineering/programming/design issue, and not necessarily on the service end.
      I am constantly shaking my head at this world we live in.
      Thanks again for the advice. I may call to try to get a SOLUTION to this problem, even tough I am not an account holder.
      Thanks,
      Joe

    I was hoping he would cover setting up favorite stations. the comcast rep said there was a way to put the most favorite stations in a special place with out having to search all the guide

    • @dkrusee
      @dkrusee 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      He covered it enough to get started with Favorites. Use the left arrow in the Guild to select a channel (not show) to favorite then hit the OK button. Find the Favorites view in the Guide View. It's really handy!

      It sounds like your remote control is no longer programmed to your specific TV. There are other TH-cam videos that explain how to do that. Or, call Comcast, they can walk you through it over the phone.
