      My contract says I'm payng for 800mbps. Never have had any buffering issues. I just stream live TV & movies... no uploads.
      With Cable TV= 2 tv's, my own Router/Modem. I'm paying $296/mo. If i rented their router, it'd be over $300/mo.
      I'm canceling xfinity Cable very soon & keeping internet only & gonna try a lower MBPS.
      *AFTER WATCHING ALL YOUR VIDEOS* I bought one Roku Ultra LT (has ethernet plug/ gonna buy another this week) + Hulu + netflix + Amazon=around $185/mo.,hopefully. Watched all your videos. My budget target # was $175.

    Yes, I saw the announcement about
    the speedup. I wonder, we pay $94.99
    a month for Xfinity 1gig plus internet,
    since we dropped Xfinity Cable and
    phone. We have no other source of
    Internet in our apartment here in
    Nashua, NH. Like most previous triple
    play internet, Optimum, in NY state,
    and AT&T Uverse in Florida, Xfinity
    and the others were over $200.00
    monthly. I wonder if our internet now
    with Xfinity at $79.99 a month, plus
    $15.00 a month for the Modem,
    will I believe go up to $119.99 a month, that is without modem being that the
    Internet will go up $25.00 around May?😮

    I was on the 200mbps service and had to upgrade to the 800mbps since the upload speed was too slow. Then I had to get their gateway xfi modem/router since my modem was a 3.0 DOCSIS and wouldn't allow for unlimited data under my old plan. I wasn't happy about this since I had just bought my Motorola modem back in 2020. My uploads are better now as it was taking well over an hour sometimes to upload a 4-5minute 4K video to YT. Unfortunately, I can't get fiber internet in my area or I would have signed up for that. Someday...

    • @Slim1423
      @Slim1423 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are some modem/router combos or stand alone modem and routers, that can work apecifically with Xfinity Comcast and with better data speeds . I know Netgear brand of modems has better reviews, some people like Arris or Motorola brand as well. Ususally, if any brand of modem is compatible with a cable company, it will be stamped on the outside of the package box somewhere.

    • @VinylRescue
      @VinylRescue 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Slim1423 The problem with mine is that it was a 3.0 modem and their system required a 3.1 modem for me to stay on unlimited data. They didn't tell me that when I upgraded my speed package. If I had known then I would researched for one that I could have bought and switched. At this point I'm okay with it. I'm just hoping in the future we can get fiber in our area since the upload and downloads are the same speed!

    • @Slim1423
      @Slim1423 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @VinylRescue Ok, i was wondering about the difference for a Docsis 3.0 vs. 3.1 version modem. Now i know there is undeed a difference. Technology just keeps updating, which leaves today's equipment behind, either a few months or years down the road. There are newer modems with the Docsis 3.1 version though, which you could buy, to save on monthly xfinity modem/router rental fees. So, you do have options, if you choose to take them.

    • @VinylRescue
      @VinylRescue 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Slim1423 thanks. Maybe down the road when I have time. It just stinks since I had a nice Motorola modem that I bought back in 2020.

    • @Slim1423
      @Slim1423 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @VinylRescue Yeah, i agree. Places like Walmart, Best Buy, or Amazon online, will have sales on various modems from time to time. Technology keeps evolving, and getting outdated. If you ever do decide to get another modem, please consider how much "Channel Bonding" that each modem or modem router has, because the type of channel bonding it has will limit the data rate rate for specific internet providers. Some modems will come with 4x4, 8x4, 16x4, 24x8, or maybe 32x8, channel bonding. For me i would probably want wirher a 150 or 200mbps plan with Xfinity, so i would need a modem with 16x4 channel bonding for Xfinity. However, that data speed limitation may be less for other providers like Cox, Spectrum. So, please keep that in mind if you decide to get your own modem. Some say buying your own modem/router can increase your data speeds, more than using the provider's modem/router. I just want consistent and adequate data speed, to do whatever i need it for at home.

      nah dude. It sounds like there's something else going on in your home network. I can guarantee you that most households won't need more than like 100-200 Mbps for a long time. That's not to say that having faster speeds isn't good, but it just isn't necessary for most people at home unless they're downloading a lot of large files regularly.
      If your PS5 is on Wi-Fi and is too far away from the router, then that's most likely the problem. it doesn't matter if you get the fastest internet connection known to man kind. If your wifi and devices are too far from each other then the connection speed will just be slow and weak. That's just the nature of wireless communications.
      If your Console is hardwired into your router and you still get slower than expected speeds, it may be a cable problem. I would go with at least a high quality CAT6 cable no more than 100 M (~330 ft).
