- If you have one of these XFinity / Comcast TV Cable Remotes and the power button, other buttons, multiple buttons or the remote seems to have a mind of its own then try this easy method first. At least 50% of you should have a perfectly fixed working remote by the end of this video.

What do you do if this is a brand new remote.
I did what you said it didn’t work as I could use only half of the remote. The batteries are good and all. So the only thing that fixed it was turning the box off and on.

UPDATE! I gave up hours ago since the above did not work and let the remote just rest beside the TV, hoping that it would at least still turn on/off the TV which it did before I tried this fix.
FOR THE HECK OF IT I TRIED A COUPLE BUTTONS AND THEY WORKED!!!! THEN I TRIED ALL OF THEM AND THEY WORKED! This is amazing (if not maddening haha). But I'm so glad that my remote works now, even though I ordered one on eBay.

Not sure what happened. I followed your instructions four times.
I replaced batteries with a fresh pair, the remote was flashing. But wouldn’t turn on. Inserted the batteries that were in the remote to begin with (they are fairy new).
The remote is working again!

AMAZING - The only cure that worked was replacing my FULLY charged batteries! A few days later I checked those batteries again - yep they are full charged, so as a test I pop them in the remote and got the flashing blue lights problem again. I put the other batteries back in (from the same pack) and the remote works. 😵💫😵💫😵💫 Glad I didn't contact Xfinity support. They would have had me rebooting and changing everything, making it worse, and ruining my vibe for days. Haunted batteries???

I tried this (twice) and now the remote does not work at all, whereas before the power on/off button worked. That was the only one. I ordered new xr-11. I guess was worth a try.

I just had to go to Reset remote and follow the directions and now and am all set.

The down arrow key caved in now won't work its the one with the soft rubber pad
If it’s not working you can also reset your remote. Hold down the setups button and wait til it turns green then once it does keep your finger on the setup button and press 981 when the green light flashes twice your remote has been successfully reset
Yeah, that didn't work with the blue flashing light problem. Changing out the NEW batteries was the only thing that worked for me.

@@crunchypeanutbutter3469 Before I tried this my TV was also stuck on one channel, but at least the power on/off buttons worked. After trying this technique twice and changing batteries it does not work, not even the power on/off that previously worked.
