Weihrauch HW100 KT .177 Air Rifle - 100 Yard target Shooting

  • The second video in our mini series showing the capabilities of a sub 12 ft/lb air rifle out at 100 yards. yes the grouping isn't amazing and i'm sure there will be the usual "you can't shoot" comments that will pop up, but after reading and hearing people say that sub 12 air rifles can't hit anything past 50 yards and FAC level rifles are only good out to 80 i just wanted to show that this really isn't the case. air rifles are only as good as the person holding them, if they know how the rifle works and its true limitations then shots like this are possible.
    The Weihrauch HW100 KT continues to prove itself to be one of the best air rifles on the market and i think value for money wise it is very hard to beat. it is by far the most reliable rifles i have ever owned, and that's of any manufacturer! Pellets used were the 8.44gr Daystate Sovereign pellets in .177 (unsorted).
    we'll be exploring long range shooting more in the coming videos so be sure to subscribe to keep up to date! we're also on facebook for anyone that wishes to follow us there too!
    thanks for watching guys!

    Very enjoyable. Well done. I once made a mistake of posting that I could hit a golf ball with reasonable
    repeatability at 72 yards with my KT100 .177 in one the forums. I will not make that mistake again. I could not believe the amount of sarcasm and disbelief that was expressed. Some FT guy was really pushing his luck and I told him that he had probably spent the best part of £3000.00 on his rifle and scope and other bits and pieces and if he couldn't hit a 15mm target at 55 yards he had better give up shooting or shut up. Maybe I was unfair. Very nice video and presentation. A.G

      good work Lensman57, I can hit a similar size target at 70 yards with good consistency. Unfortunately some people either don't practice enough, or practice the wrong technique to understand that this really is achievable by anyone with good technique and a quality air rifle.

      That exactly what I wanted to read! I used my regd s200 and I love shooting golfballs with it at 70 yards.. It's easy. Hitting at that range proves the rifles velocity fluctuations ... It has to be pretty good at that range.. I think I'll buy one now,

      I can believe that. I see guys at my club using HW100, Wolverines, Pulsars, HFT 500's etc,are getting groups at 5p size at 55 yards.

    Glad I’ve found this video helped immensely, I’ve an HW100 KT (FAC) and struggle with my shooting but it has helped, I wanna go and put what I’ve learned to the test but the weather is…???? Diabolical

    I'm just getting started in the sport and you answered a lot of my questions in your videoo. I live only a 30 second drive away from a club with ranges out to 500 yards. I'm looking forward to wringing out a rifle at as much of those 500 yards as the pellet will travel. I think you've convinced me to stay away from .177. Now how to choose between .22 and .25.
    Thanks for the good work.

    If you sat there for days on end then maybe you could get slightly tighter groups but for first attempts then very good. Remember sub 12ft lb weather bit breezy so 100yrds very good 👍

      this was very much a first attempt. groupings since have tightened and i completed the 150 yard gold ball challenge with the FX Impact. thanks

    Is there anything that the fx does better than the hw? Apart from cost more money. I have a AirArms s510 ultimate sporter and a friend at the club has an fx crown which was double the price and then some and to be honest it’s no better or worse than my 510. Obviously he gets more shots per fill but that’s all I can honestly say.
    I wonder how a budget gun like a walther rm8 would stack against an fx. I bet there isn’t loads in it, if anything accuracy wise.

      He bobbed his head round to see see what I was using, walther rm8 177 hawke 4-12, 50 ao,£ 385 all in it was pissing all over his, he was speechless🤣🤣 didn't stay long

      thanks! if you practice any range in theory is more than achievable. the fx impact for example was happily hitting metal out at 150 yards the other week and thats a sub 12 ft/lb rifle too! james

      I have 2 97s in 177 0ne 12 ftlb one 19 ftlb . And will admit the 12 ftlb hits beer cans at 120m with an optisan 4-16×44 f1 scope at 9x using two dots from the bottom every shot sitting with arms crossed .. after a while you can hit golf balls ..the 97k is very acurate but get it tuned with a top hat and piston sleeve ,, ####use crosman premier 7.9 boxs of 1250 ..iv found no other pellet matches these in a hw97k 177 ... good luck pal ..a good scope helps a lot ...iv noticed over the last 20 years 97s have got evtremely accurate with the modern scopes available ,, dont let anyone put you off , you will be amazed at these springers

    What's the power of the HW100. Cos you say sub 12f/lb.

    • @ReplicaReviews
      @ReplicaReviews  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks! with 8.44gr daystate sovereign / JSB exact pellets it is sitting at 11.4 ft/lb. when we tested there was only a 5 fps variance across the 10 shots we fired through the chronograph, which for an out the box gun i thought was very respectable! james

    Nice vid guys. It would be interesting to know what force they are hitting the target - not that I would be shooting live quarry at this range. FYI I had my longest rabbit head shot last night - 70 yards and dropped him like a stone (well after he left up in the air first as they do!!!). I use the HW100KS with an Airmax 30 6-24 - a brilliant combo. I've recently downloaded the hawke BRC but don't really understand all the terminology yet, will do some more research before I use it in anger! Keep up the good work.

    • @ReplicaReviews
      @ReplicaReviews  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      BRC will give you a rough estimate of power that has been continued. i will take a look and see what it says as i did look previously but can't remember the exact rough figure. james

    If you're going to shoot 100meters, you must do it on a DEAD CALM day. Even with my .25 Cricket, shooting JSB Kings 300mps, wind turns a group to shit.

    • @ReplicaReviews
      @ReplicaReviews  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      very true! its amazing at those ranges quite how much the wind can knock things off. in the ideal world i'd love to try this either on a perfectly still day (good luck finding one of those) or indoors.... work in progress! james

    A .22 would give a tighter group and the hw100 in fac is pure junk.
    It's a rifle designed for EU competitions.
    .177 at long range will lose velocity and will play havok in the slightest wind
    .22 all day for anything over 50 yards.
