    I own one of these guns. I have been shooting for 65 yrs, it is the best air rifle I have ever owned.

    I picked up a HW100KT before I saw this review. I preferred the balance of the carbine having tried both. It is my first PCP ever and its an amazing rifle, super accurate, easier to shoot than a springer and beyond beautifully made. I must admit that I was concerned about getting a PCP over a quality springer like the HW97, simply because of the air seals in all PCP's. If I was stuck on a desert island for 10 years and I had the choice to take along an either a HW100 with a hill pump or a HW97, I would go for the springer because I know it will just keep on going. I am not so sure how many years any quality PCP would perform, because of the Achilles heel of those seals. They will fail long before the main spring in a HW97k or similar. If it was only a 2 year stint, I would take the HW100, easier to shoot, multi-shot. Am I wrong to think that even a quality gun like the HW100 cant last as long as a quality springer long term?

    I own a HW100 , not a carbine, traditional walnut stock. it has never let me down and possesses phenomenal accuracy. Amazing rifle.

    The way the safety only works when loaded is designed so that you know if the rifle is loaded or not. Brilliant feature that others lack

    Nice review James. As a Weihrauch fanboy I've been considering the HW100 for years. But as an old timer I'm still a bit wary of PCPs . I like the simplicity of my HW95K. The charging paraphernalia puts me off . But maybe I'm just being a Luddite.

    Fantastic review mate! I've been out of the sport for decades, blimey things have moved on! The last air rifle I had was an HW80, nice gun back in the day but quite heavy. These new ones look like they are much more accurate and I hope lighter too now that I am quite a bit older. Really enjoyed watching that video, very good indeed 👍

      thanks! to be honest if you have the money then any one of the sidewinder models will be your best bet. I run them on all 3 of my current air rifles. for the money they are really hard to beat! as for the rifle itself, if its your first rifle there is very little chance you'll ever need to buy another! it is by far the best rifle I own - or have ever owned! if you pick one up and you're on Facebook be sure to post up a picture ! Hi James. I have been getting accuracy issues with my Weihrauch of late. I thought my scope zero was shifting. I had an Enfield Scope fitted. I bought a Hawke Airmax SF30. Still had the issues of poor accuracy.
    Cleaned the Barrel, Made sure everything is tight and nothing coming loose etc. Its got me scratching my head as to the cause.
    I just cannot figure it out. It was fine out of the box. There is no damage to it and i am using the same JSB Exact 4.53 Pellets.
    It is totally stock other than an adjustable butt pad and a Bipod fitted.

    Nice real world review bud, yes they are IMO the best on the market and can hold their own with any airgun (subject to power being equal ) and had mine for just over 9 years. its never put a foot wrong in all that time even though I put an A&M cylinder on board, its the standard version at 11.5 ftlb and an FAC one at 28 ftlb again with the cylinder being A&M, I use them both every day for pest control and nothing else, I mean why would you when they are so accurate its astonishing ! Both are fed AA field pellets, a few down the club always wanted a go when I took it down when I was a member, not enough hours in the day for club shooting anymore and that's a shame as I miss the banter ! anyway thanks for sharing bud, atb phil

  • @iainallsop7465
    @iainallsop7465 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Im about to buy one of these but im suffering from the age old problem of .22 OR .177 - it will be used primarily for ratting up to about 30-35yrds max. I have read endless reviews of the pros and cons. Im edging towards the .22 as that is what i have been shooting up to now, but the flatter and straighter trajectory, and the fact i keep reading the .177 will be more forgiving range wise at night, which i will be using it with a PARD007V is really making me doubt my original choice and consider the .177. I know there is no right or wrong answer. But as someone that only started out a year or so ago, its become a major headache to decide :) - anyone's experience would be greatly received. As i said, main points, for ratting up to 30-35yrds, most of the time a lot less probably, Night use with the PARD007V. Any advice?

    I own this exact gun and it's the mutts nuts, iv owned a a bsa r10 Daystate air ranger a Daystate Panther and another bsa R10 that was fully blue printed by John bowkett which was also shortened and had a bespoke moderator made by mr bowkett and it was amazing but this rifle beats the lot of them put together so if your thinking about getting one don't hesitate I guarantee you that you will be over the moon. 👍🏻

    Fantastic review. To the point and totally relevant. So agree about the studs for slings etc. Why they don't add that as standard I don't know. This is a hunting gun and is probably the best for quality, accuracy, and ease of use at the price.

    They are nice guns, years ago I had a hw77 underlever and I loved it. I might buy a hw100 in the future. Mate when you were hitting the gas bottle at 100 yds how much drop was there at that distance, and would it still have enough power to kill rats or rabbits??

    • @ReplicaReviews
      @ReplicaReviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’d never condone shooting live quarry with a sub 12 at those ranges. The variables are too great and the retained power isnt enough. Long range TARGETS: the skill is how far. LIVE QUARRY: the skill is how close you can get.

    Saw this review and a review of the BSA Ultra SE.
    Popped into Sandwell Field Sports. Tried both Rifles. Nothing between them, performance wise. The Ultra is lighter but has less shots.
    HW100KT has 2 Mags. Ultra only has one.
    Stock is better on the HW100KT and so is the trigger. The side loading lever is so smooth. The Ultra feels a bit stiff and clunky.
    I decided to go with the HW100KT in Walnut. It is the only Airgun i will ever buy or need. It is just soo good.

    hi james looking to buy the HW100 HT in 177, just one question please I'm draw to the new green soft touch synthetic stock. some reviews love it some don't with a reference to it looking cheap !!!!!!! The gun is going to be a working pest control gun not a gun to hang above the fire place on show, the gun is still the same gun its just the stock I'm struggling with, any thoughts please mate. PS i have the brocock compatto deluxe black soft touch stock and love it

      the gun you see here is kept in my van day in day out as a professional pest control marksman, gets dragged up ladders, chucked in a case - it's not had an easy life! i'd say its down to personal preference purely to be completely honest with you. if you like the coated stock go for it. i can't see there being any issues with whatever choice you make. james

      hi paul. it's a qd stud that also replaces the front stock screw. if you google hw100 qd screw it should come up. once it's fitted, which is simply screwing it in like a normal bolt, you then have a standard qd stud to mount a whole manor of bipods to! hope that helps. james

    • @ReplicaReviews
      @ReplicaReviews  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      with the new price increase it would be an easy choice for me, the hw! they used to be priced similar but even then the hw100 is the better made rifle by a long shot. they are both great, but the hw is just that bit better, everything with it just works. the price hike with fx hasn't been reflected with a quality rise, so yeh, i'd go for the hw100 any day. as i say in the review, this rifle gets used almost everyday by myself and has shot in some really horrible places, but it has never skipped a beat, ever! the wildcat however has, went back after 3 days and the loading mech still isn't smooth! james
