I’ve got the hw 100s in 177 and the 110 in 22 and both are outstanding, once you’ve had a weihrauch it’s very hard to change to another make, I’ve had various Bsa’s and none of them have ever given me that satisfaction of owning a piece of excellence that the Weihrauch’s have.
Hello Sir, I read your comment with great interest and respect, and I'm glad you not only love your Weihraurch but are very happy with it. I have the BSA R12 and I'm very very pleased with it. As soon as I saw the BSA R12, I knew I loved the looks of it and wouldn't rest until I'd purchased one. Sir, you've had a lifetime in shooting, my experience is far less than that. The Weihraurch is truly a beautiful, well capable air rifle, no question. However, just like the Daystate's, I humbly don't think they are any more accurate than my R12. This is a genuine point made to a gentleman far more experienced than I. I think sometimes things just come down to personal preference, and maybe the above mentioned air rifles are all as good and refined as each other and as they can be, though all very, very similar in terms of accuracy. I'd love to know what you thought? Thank you, Ian.

But with your rifle you shoot the other brand and your grouping could be absolutely spot on but then you change to another and it’s all over the place. It’s just finding that right pellet that gives you the best results, there are sample packs of pellets that are on the market that you can buy rather than spending a fortune on various tins where you may have half a dozen tins that end up sat in a cupboard doing nothing as the gun doesn’t like them. But since then I’ve predominantly shot Weihrauch’s and I did by an Air Arms S510 tactical but as good as it was I put it in for another HW100 KT in 177 in the new style stock and that is absolutely accurate and it is producing groups less than a 5p at 35 yards using Hades and is whacking rats every time fitted with the Sightmark wraith. But only recently I did get my dream springer which was the air arms pro sport in 177 and that’s a thing of absolute beauty and as accurate as a pcp and I believe that it’s the best springer on the market and the pinnacle of any springer collection. @jonathanstones8870 Hi Jonathon, Thank you for a fantastic, in-depth reply to my message. It is very much appreciated and always fine to listen to someone who knows exactly what they're talking about. I'm 53 years old now and yearned for my own air rifle ever since I was twelve years old and aware of the Weihraurch HW80K. My father never approved, although he was a shooter, and as I'm twin to another boy, I never stood a chance. I remember seeing the Theoben Rapids in dad's Airgun World and drooling over their craftsmanship, engineering knowledge, and ability from where they were born. By today's standards, we had a strict upbringing in that we did as we were told. It was a world where trans gender and mental health just didn't exist, never in a million years! You were seen and not heard, end of! Unintentionally, I bought my first air rifle, a silverline HW97k, in .177 calibre. It was to rid my mum of some nuisance Magpies. That didn't happen as their position to shoot them would have been illegal. However, there, my air rifle passion began. I was enjoying the time of my life with my air rifles. It was very difficult walking into the gunshop for the first time, even at 48 years old, as it was forbidden all my life. There, I saw an Air Arms TX200, pre owned with all the bells and whistles. However, I thought I wasn't worthy to own it, because of how I knew things. At fifty years old, I was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. I was told to write my will, get rid of my wealth, and book my place in our local hospice. It was really tough informing my family, friends, and loved ones. I work in our local community as a postman. I was blessed not to really know two people who were lighting candles in their local churches for me. I've returned to work full time, back to normal. I have some not so great medications. That's just how it is! The stocks on my HW's 97K and 80K's I always thought were dull and lacklustre and just not worthy of the actions they held. I've always had a love of woodwork, though, like everything else, it was forbidden as a youngster. I made a laminated stock for my 97K and 80K, from walnut and ash. They're made with hand tools, apart from using the router for the action recess. Each laminate were hand sawn down a pencil line, taking two hours each laminate. The 97K is finished in Danish Oil, the 80K finished in linseed oil. My 80K was my second stock. I wanted to make Mr Weihrauch proud and worthy to hold the iconic HW80K break barrel action arguably never bettered. The design had to be exciting, dynamic, exhilarating, eye catching, head turning. How would I do this?? The stock is based on predators. A Hawks claw, a jumping Puma/Sabre Toothed Tiger, a Cobra and an American fish Eagle. I'm no craftsman, but it's turned out really well. Ex competitive field target shooter here. Head size can make a massive difference. Some rifles need the barrel cleaning when you start getting fliers or the groups starting opening up. Often after cleaning you need to ‘ lead up ‘ the barrel with approximately 30 shots before they tighten up again…..all good fun 😃

@@gardenguns Hello i just received my HW100T in .177 Here in Australia its the full power version as far as I understand. Would you suggest the heavier pellets for this air rifle? I need to start evaluating it. Thanks Jeff
Hi Jeff, Great rifle, one of the best all rounders out there. I am not sure what the exact power level your rifle will be but after having a quick look at aussie law i can only assume it will be above 12ft/lb 17 joules. If that is the case then you can deffinately shoot a heavier pellet. Have a look on line, there is sure to be information and suggetions to preffered pellet types and weights for your rifles power level. I would buy a selection of the ones most often recomended, in different head sizes, and then get out there and start testing! Have fun!
@@gardenguns Thanks for the advice. Yes its the higher power version and i have found the H&N Barracuda Hunter Extreme pellets (i believe 9.57g) and JSB Exact Heavy 10.34g to be both super accurate, however i havent tested at any range over 10m at this stage. I absolutely love this rifle particularly the trigger, its mechanism as well as its looks. I am over the moon 🌙 and really enjoying my shooting more then for a very long time. Considering I absolutely love my ultra accurate .222 Tikka T3X thats saying something!!! Regards from “Down Under” Australia 🇦🇺 👍👍👍👍
First Manufacturer to years before any other went with Side Lever cocking. And having the rifle regulated as standard. The rest merely followed years after.
I bought almost the same gun with a beautyful tiger striped shaft from a friend for a more than fair price and can tell that I’ll keep that sucker for the rest of my days for shooting it at home or short to middle range. Deadly accurate and I get out 6 mag‘s. I shoot it with the Exact Heavy 10,34 and 0,52 heads and mine kills it.
I bought a hw100 .177 and its honestly the most accurate gun I have ever owned that includes my airarms ev2 ,ftp and daystate redwolf 35 -50 metres small finger nail grouping , it's incredible I just wish it had the redwolf trigger but for a £850 gun it's amazing .
Shot a few , not belonging to me , fantastic guns , and I would have one if pcp guns were my thing , but I’m a springer man , so got it’s cousin the 97k ,cheers for the vid Shane
I had a Laminated HW100, unfortunately I found that its 12 ib sub power was lacking for my requirements, it was replaced with an FAC FX Maverick .25, that was tuned to 65fpe.......that works !!!!!! OH YES !!!!!! In fairness, I would say that the HW had a very good trigger pull, the rest of it was OK.
It is a great workhorse rifle and will always have a staunch following. However there is some really interesting and innovative kit out there now. I agree being limited to 12 ft/lb without a FAC is a pain!
@@gardenguns Yes I would agree, there really is some terrifyingly good kit out there. The HW will always have a staunch following, it is a good gun BUT limited in sub 12lb, also even in FAC for my requirements, it was underpowered as explained. Good luck.
hi, i haven't been out with the air rifle in years. looking to get back out hunting and pcp's are the thing these days. i currently have a deposit on this and i am chipping away at it, mine is £1080 for the full kit with bipod and scope, case ect. is this gun good for rabbiting
Hello! Yes I would recommend the HW100 as a good pest control tool. I think it is a great all round rifle. It is an absolute machine. I believe you can get it tuned as well if you really want to try and get that 1% more out of it. However unless you need a higher shot count or are planning on target shooting with it, I think it is brilliant straight out of the box. Hope this helps.
@Paul Roch You are correct. You have to cock the rifle to remove the magazine. Dry firing the HW100 will not cause any harm. Obviously make sure you are pointing the rifle in a safe direction, towards some sort of backstop.
I have the longer of the hw100 bullpups in .177 12 ft/lb. The phrase "cold dead hands" comes to mind when I think about parting with it. It's almost unfair to use one on anything under 50m away.
@@gardenguns It's the best-balanced, easiest to shoot airgun I have ever used, just a delight. It's one of those guns that feels really heavy until you shoulder it and then the weight just disappears. I've hit a 1" spinner at forty metres five shots out of six shooting off hand...
just bought 1 of these pick it up couple wk full length version in 22 ive alwys shot 177 in the feild fancied a change should be good on the woodeis tho enjoy you reviews buddy you always get 1 big lips who knows best in the air gun scene 2 many out of work gun smiths how do you rate it against your r10
Wow sorry for the delay. You tube seems not to be notifying me when I get comments sometimes. I prefer my R10, however the HW 100 is a machine! They are both great rifles.
Yes shot count is a tad on the low side , there would be slightly more on the full length version ... getting around 100-110 ish shots with the .20 ( full length ) always fancied a .20 calibre , ,dont know why , maybe curiosity got the better of me , but it certainly didn't kill the cat ( not I my case anyway ) finding it a well engineering , solid , mechanically precise in loading and cocking cycle , probably the best magazine system out there .. yes , it is a tad heavy , no problem benched at the range , and with the addition of sling studs , a sling for hunting is a given ( lets face it , its what its built for ) accuracy is good , not steyr / Walther / feinwerkbau or top end bench rest accurate ... but accurate nonetheless .. power on your test rifle ( 11.5 ftlb ) spot on , mine , around 11 ftlb , that'll do me , aint even thinking of " tweeking " it up .... the walnut stock is absolutely fantastic , a pleasure too wax , in fact I feel its therapeutic .. NOW the question you posed yourself " HW100 OR R10 ? Mmmmmm is a good one .. got a .177 & .22 R10 .. what would I choose given an " either / or " situation ? ... weighing up the pros & cons of both .. and giving it a lot of thought .. im going for The HW100 ... its the build quality , Its that faultless mag , Its that cocking action ... and its that beautiful walnut stock No .. I dont think its as accurate as the R10 ( either calibre ) but as you know , every barrel is different , so im ONLY going by my results on MY rifles ... but there's next to nothing in it ... its marginal ... Its was a good vid btw , like your relaxed style of reviwing , keep up the excellent work ...
Thanks Mark. Always good to get feedback on the vids and others opinions on the subject matter. Got a couple of pistols and few springers to look at next. Trouble is I am not a great springer shooter. My technique is a tad rusty!
Hi , you recently tested an Air arms s400 which also seemed deadly accurate. If you had a choice between the hw100 and the S410 and wished to use it primarily for hunting, would you have a preference ? Kind regards
I haven’t really had the chance to test an S410. I don’t know much about their magazines. I would imagine their accuracy would be the same as the S400 providing there were no feed issues with the magazine. However as I said I haven’t had the chance to test one yet. The HW00 mag seems to be pretty fool proof and as much as I hate to say it I would probably choose the HW100 over the Air Arms. This might change if I ever get lucky enough to get an S410 to test and it is as accurate as the 400 with no mag issues. Sorry, not much help really!
plenty of used r10 s and hw100 s about in mint condition but everyone says the regulators the r10 s need an upgrade.my r10 bowkett reg works fine at the mo.im looking for mm asking for a direct shoot out with the best pellet of each[which prob aint the same] hw100 full length and hw 100 k both in .22 @ 40yrds
Wow that’s a question! It can come down to your particular rifle and it’s Barrel, and what power level your rifle is at depending on your country’s laws. For the UK rifles I would start with JSB exacts and then try different head sizes. Try some heavies and then RWS’s. Quiet aloof people are praising the QYS pellets so they are worth a look too.
I love mine so much for so manny reasons, that i don't even want to begin arguing. But i hate that safety. The gun doesn't allow me to use it, whenever i want to. Also its a bit frontheavy. For the price, the finishing isn't good enough, mine showed some signs of rust, after the first winter in a relatively dry basement.
ive owned a hw100 for a few years and i find my aa200 and my aa410 out shoot it by far accuracy wise which at the end of the day shooting sub 12 ft lb counts for a lot i just cant get the groupings with hw100 i can with either of my airarms i will try the 5.1 pellets
Hi John. I haven’t tested a AA410 yet, however the AA400 has amazed me with it’s accuracy. I have had 3 to test and all of them have produced smaller than 5 pence groups at 30 yards. I would definitely recommended trying a variety of pellets, size, weights and manufactures to see if you can get that HW of yours to perform. Maybe a barrel clean as well? Thanks for watching. All the best.
I bought a new kt and 410 2 months ago, 410 went back within a week. Build quality is nothing compared to the 100kt, both accurate but the 100kt just feels more special
Mrs just gone out to work as this came up , gonna watch it later ( back @ half 8 ) .. AT LAST , there IS going to be something interesting on the telly tonight ... yippppeeeeeeee catch ya later ( plus ive got the HW100 , all be it in .20 , so itll be double interesting .. mrs has a HW110 , so it wont apply so much to her , lol )

Well, I have a medical every year for my job, shoot at 2 clubs and have guested at several different clubs. You are the only person who has ever expressed any concern. The HW100 is a great rifle. I was not disappointed, it basically performed as I would have expected a Weihrauch to perform. If money was no object then I would definitely be looking to get one. However if it was a choice between an R10 and the HW100, I would choose the R10. Higher shot count, gorgeous stock, easy to tune if you want more performance. Love my R10.
No. My Ultra was originally blue printed by the master. My R10 was an early mark one. It has had a fair amount of Ratworks magic bestowed on it and is the best rifle I own. I have a video up on it if you check this channel out.
That is a disappointment to read. To be honest thought there are rifles out there that are way more suited to high power once you push into the FAC zone. I am looking at you FX!
Des thank you for the feedback, I totally agree, I am not an Airgun reviewer, these are just my thoughts on rifles I am lucky enough to test. I definitely don’t make any money, nor hope to make a career from making TH-cam videos. Frankly I am surprised that you think in today’s algorithm controlled reality that anybody making videos to do with any sort of projectile shooting device would be able to be monetised. I appreciate my production values are bad and I know next to nothing about editing. This is plain for all to see. However please don’t be throwing shade on the table. It has done nothing to you. If you don’t like this video you are going to really hate my next one. Unless you are a total masochist can I suggest you avoid watching any of my content.

Hi Jeff,
Great rifle, one of the best all rounders out there.
Have fun!
@@gardenguns
Thanks for the advice.
Excellent video, I bought a HW100T 5.5 FSB FAC 30 joules and found it fantastic. I hit 30mm targets at 87 yards with ease.
Att. Luis - (from Brazil).
Thanks Luis, glad you enjoyed it. Wish we could have 30 joules with no license over here!
@@gardenguns We have no joules restrictions in Brazil. We are free to increase the joules and have fun.
I bought my HW100 from the British Shooting show. It's excellent!
First Manufacturer to years before any other went with Side Lever cocking. And having the rifle regulated as standard. The rest merely followed years after.
I love my hw100 it loves AA field diablo in 5.51 better than any other pellet.
That tiger stripe stock is truly beautiful! It would be the one I would want to get.
Nice vid. I use Leicestershire air guns and they are great people and a great shop.
It is a tight call between my Huntsman and the HW100. I think due to the excellent magazine system I would choose the HW100 if I was buying again.
That's a stretch more accurate than ..ev2 and redwolf ...
I travelled from Stourbridge to Leicestershire Air Guns to buy my HW98. I got it for a steal! 😎
Shot a few , not belonging to me , fantastic guns , and I would have one if pcp guns were my thing , but I’m a springer man , so got it’s cousin the 97k ,cheers for the vid Shane
Cheers Shane. I am not the best with a springer!
Thanks for the video. I think I’ve made my mind up for my first air rifle. All the best.
Welcome to the sport! If you need any help drop me a line.
I have one of these in .177 at 20Metres its pellet on pellet all day long.
Without a doubt. It is an awesomely accurate rifle!
@@gardenguns I’ve had loads of rifles over the years and these German ones cannot be beaten totally ahead of the game and price.
Im not a fan of thumb hole stocks but I love the same rifle with the shorter stock. Would love one on my rack.!
Hi Tim, I wasn’t really that into thumb hole stocks however the stock on the HW100 is rather nice!
is this possible to install longer barrel?
@@jeansandmyshirt I believe you can replace the barrel on the HW100. However I am not sure how easy it is to do.
Good luck.
honestly .... HW100 still a great airriflle, its fun so shoot, its acurate and fine trigger, ....thanks for you video
No problems. Thank you for watching!
Very enjoyable video thanks.Thoughts on this against Air Arms S410?
That’s a tough one. I think I would choose the HW100 over the S410. However if I was just plinking or for HFT I think I would choose the S400.
hi, i haven't been out with the air rifle in years. looking to get back out hunting and pcp's are the thing these days. i currently have a deposit on this and i am chipping away at it, mine is £1080 for the full kit with bipod and scope, case ect. is this gun good for rabbiting
@Paul Roch PCP’s are a lot easier to shoot than Springers. You should never dry fire a springer! Enjoy the 100. It is a great rifle.
I have the longer of the hw100 bullpups in .177 12 ft/lb. The phrase "cold dead hands" comes to mind when I think about parting with it. It's almost unfair to use one on anything under 50m away.
I would love to get hold of a bullpup HW100 to try. The fact that very few turn up on the second hand market kind of says it all! Thanks for watching!
@@gardenguns It's the best-balanced, easiest to shoot airgun I have ever used, just a delight. It's one of those guns that feels really heavy until you shoulder it and then the weight just disappears. I've hit a 1" spinner at forty metres five shots out of six shooting off hand...
Is that the weihrauch XL silencer?
just bought 1 of these pick it up couple wk full length version in 22 ive alwys shot 177 in the feild fancied a change should be good on the woodeis tho enjoy you reviews buddy you always get 1 big lips who knows best in the air gun scene 2 many out of work gun smiths how do you rate it against your r10
Wow sorry for the delay. You tube seems not to be notifying me when I get comments sometimes. I prefer my R10, however the HW 100 is a machine! They are both great rifles.
If you mentioned it I apologise but what distance are you shooting at?
@@jamesclarkson3009 30m and that particular rifle liked the JSB 5.51
I have a hw100 in 177 cal I had a aa 510 from artworks and I do think the hw100 out of the box is a better gun😊
Without a doubt the HW100 is a superb bit of kit and does what it is supposed to do with no fuss!
Mmmmmm is a good one .. got a .177 & .22 R10 .. what would I choose given an " either / or " situation ? ... weighing up the pros & cons of both .. and giving it a lot of thought .. im going for
The HW100 ... its the build quality ,
Its that faultless mag ,
Its that cocking action ... and its that beautiful walnut stock
No ..
What model Harris bipod is that. Does it mount to a replacement stock screw with a hole? thanks. Just got one.
Sorry, I can’t remember. It was pretty standard.
Hi pal,,Try Hades in your HW100, see how you go, Mine loves em,,Great video,,Cheers.
Thanks mate. My R10 loves Hades! The HW 100 had to go back to the shop. They wouldn’t let me keep it! 🤣
plenty of used r10 s and hw100 s about in mint condition but everyone says the regulators
the r10 s need an upgrade.my r10 bowkett reg works fine at the mo.im looking for mm asking for
a direct shoot out with the best pellet of each[which prob aint the same] hw100 full length and hw 100 k both in .22 @ 40yrds
Love my R10 it also has a Bowkett reg in it. In this spec with the tune done I think it out performs the 100.
Can a stirrup pump easily pump a hw100kt ?
You can do. Might take a while though! Best thing to do is top off after every 30 shots or so.
@@gardenguns thanks pal ,where can I get a decent and reasonable price one ?,
If you are in the Leicestershire area try Leicestershire Airguns.
Thanks what's the best pellets for the hw100kt 177 ?
Wow that’s a question! It can come down to your particular rifle and it’s Barrel, and what power level your rifle is at depending on your country’s laws. For the UK rifles I would start with JSB exacts and then try different head sizes. Try some heavies and then RWS’s. Quiet aloof people are praising the QYS pellets so they are worth a look too.
So the new ones comes with the Biathlon lever style? I want to order the old style side lever
This one was a straight side lever. I believe that is still the current configuration.

I hope life allows you to do a few more reviews ..... You do it well :)
Thanks Andrew. Work is getting in the way!
Saya berharap anda bisa mengirimkannya buat saya ke Indonesia, saya menyukai produk hw 100 ini sangat elegen dan akurasi yang sangat baik. Terimakasih
So sorry dude. I don’t speak Indonesian. I hope you enjoyed the video. A lot of respect from the UK.👍
Hope it lives up to expectations Mark!
To improve the accuracy even more. That wonky table needs to go.
It’s not the best!
Poor group for that rifle with those pellets at that range 🤔
Heavy, low shot count and over engineered, but very accurate.
With the right pellets!
Can you not keep your leg still for 5 seconds, all that shaking is making me extremely nervous when you are near that trigger
Good lord if you a nervous just watching the video, you definitely don’t want to go shooting with me!
@@gardenguns Unfortunately for you, you would not be allowed on any of our shoots or our ranges, it is clear as day that you are not in control of your leg movements and shakes and the most dangerous thing is that you probably don't even know it's happening, we would send you for a medical and would need to see proof of the results, until you provided our gun club with this then you wouldn't be allowed anywhere near our members
Well, I have a medical every year for my job, shoot at 2 clubs and have guested at several different clubs. You are the only person who has ever expressed any concern. I don't hold the rifle with my leg and do not pull the trigger with my toes. If my arm was shaking and my fingers twitching I might concede the point to you.
I've always liked and wanted one ,but I've heard so may problems with them it's put me off ,also the shot count is poor by today's pcp standards..so I'm in a pickle
@@gardenguns bowket blue print ?
No. My Ultra was originally blue printed by the master. My R10 was an early mark one. It has had a fair amount of Ratworks magic bestowed on it and is the best rifle I own. I have a video up on it if you check this channel out.
.....made in GERMANY...............nuff said and oh.....I am Dutch.............!!!
Don't ever buy a fac version ..woeful accuracy..and I tried 2 brand new guns..such a let down.. fantastically built otherwise
That is a disappointment to read. To be honest thought there are rifles out there that are way more suited to high power once you push into the FAC zone. I am looking at you FX!
My Hw100 .22 is fac 30 ft/lb using Bisley Magnums the accuracy is perfect! Best gun I've ever owned 👍
David, I am not jealous at all, no not one bit, whatsoever. 🤢
I know where your coming from it does everything brilliantly but is uninspiring
Great rifle. As you said though a little bit bland.
Stick to your proper job ,you are no Airgun
reviewer if you intend to stay doing this first get rid of that stupid table .
Cap
@@gardenguns nice video.
In all honestly, you should be getting 1 hole groups easily so perhaps pellet experimentation.
Lovely rifle though mate.
Oh and I guess you're a know it all expert.

He is giving his opinion on the gun and that's it.
Perhaps you're just a professional troll.... either way, no one really cares about your opinion.
