I've been researching Cricut machine options for MONTHS. I'm not a current crafter but I want to be, and since I'm new to everything was learning toward the Joy. I asked for advice in Cricut Facebook group, friends/family who have machines, etc. and no one agreed though mostly I heard to invest in the bigger Maker. I didn't even finish watching your video all the way through and I bought the Joy. It sounds like the perfect place to start! Thank you for this video.
Any chance you have a video on how to navigate cricut’s design space for us newbie’s? I took the plunge and bought the joy and now am trying to figure out design space!

I love my Cricut Joy and wanted to get more use out of it and you have opened my eyes to some really cool things. I have recently learned how to use the Cricut Joy to do ‘print then cut stickers’ using a technique I found from a few other Cricut Users. It has been wonderful. Totally agree. I was initially underwhelmed. The card mat and the writeable vinyl for labels is what sold me on the Joy. Now I use it while I'm watching TV because I can have it on my ottoman and I've made over 75 cards in the last month. I absolutely think it's genius as a portable machine. It won't replace my Maker but I just leave it out all of the time and I find myself using it a LOT.

Awesome review Ken. I love the joy and my Maker and find myself using the joy more just because it is more convenient. My projects are usually on a smaller bases so the joy is perfect.

I just love the cricket joy because when it comes to cards for different occasions, I do them at home and I am very pleased with the results that comes from it. Card making has become very easy now for me. Yes cricket joy has slot of quality for it size.

I have an Explore Air 2 and figured I didn't need the Joy. I saw one on Facebook Marketplace for 40 dollars (it didn't come with the power supply, but I ordered a genuine replacement for 9.99). So for less than fifty dollars, I figured I would give it a try. I really like it because I am mostly going to use it to make stickers and vinyl transfers, and I always thought the Explore was too big for just making a few (or even a one-off) stickers. I love it. And the learning curve was pretty much easy, as I already had experience with the Air. I really like your channel, and I know this is an old video, but it still showed me a lot!😃

I’ve owned every Cricut since the very first except for the Joy. I didn’t see the need for the Joy. I have a lovely craft room that I’ve grown out of so have to keep my Cricut put away, I was frustrated with having to drag it out to use for a quick project. My Joy arrived today, I can already tell it’s my new best friend ❤️

I am a Silhouette user and currently have and am happy with my Portrait 2. However, I thought about entering the circuit universe and had been eyeing the circuit joy because of its smaller size. I love my portrait 2 but again, I wanted something a little smaller with a lot of capability. What finally sold me was finding a bundle deal of $159.99 which included tools, mats and materials. The cricut joy is perfect for my needs. I mostly make cards and smaller items and I love its portability and the fact that it works with either desktop PC, Mac/iPad or Android tablets and/or laptops. It may be little but it is mighty. I did appreciate your video though because it reallly does showcase the cricut joy’s ease of use.

I also stopped making cards on my Cricut Explore due to the pulling it out of my closet and connecting it, etc. I recently bought the Cricut Joy and used it to make a couple of cards this past weekend and I love it. I've been a scrapbooker for 20 years and never bought an electric cutter ... For two reasons, 1. Didn't want to be tied done to a computer. 2. Lack of permanent setup space.
I craft with friends often, away from my own space. I've been using a big shot with all the dies available.
When I saw the joy I was tempted. When I came across a good offer I jumped at it. It is marvellous, easy to use, and already being used to the limitations of diecutting machines I love love love it!!!
It's carrying bag is adorable and my friends and I love it when I take it out for a spin!!!

Anyone know if this works to print a design onto a mask?
@@KISPR1 you could cut out a design on HTV (iron on vinyl) and iron it on to your mask (or use the Cricut mini heat press).
Picked up the Joy because it was on sale $149 Canadian. I love it and happy with the size. Now I will upgrade to the Maker / Make 3 so I can do bigger projects

I would agree this was an awesome review and I will definitely be watching it again. Quick question though. I want to print as large of letters as possible on the smart vinyl, “welcome” and am guessing I’d use one whole roll as I’m making a 6” welcome sign for my front porch. I can’t figure out what my margins would be to maximize the use of the vinyl, can you help me please?

Great review 👍🏼. I’m on the fence about buying the Joy. I Mostly wanted it for labels but it has way more functionality and uses than I thought! I’m wondering if I can just use an iron to iron on or do you need their special small one you were using??
A regular home iron works fine.
Excellent review. I received the cricut joy as a gift from my son. After seeing 2 reviews, I know that cricut is not for me. Hopefully, I can find some purpose for it.

Thanks Ken! I just fired up my new Cricut Joy for the first time on Easter-I made 2 cards to deliver to friends with a small box of homemade chocolates. The cards were a nice touch...seeing’s how we can not physically touch each other these days. The cards were very quick to make-but I didn’t realize I could write on the inside with the cricut!!!
